Sandro and Xaviera walked to where their family members where; Sandro held Xaviera by the waist, trying his best to make her feel uncomfortable.
"Here they come. You guys are getting along within this short period. I just hope that God has better things in Heaven for you." Carlota said with happiness in her voice; and mood.
"Yes, they would really make one great couple. I can't wait to have my stubborn great-grandson." Rosetta also said.
"You mean we came here for you guys to give us your best wishes?" Sandro scoffed arrogantly.
"Oh, let's go then. My daughter-in-law would look like a goddess today." Rafaela mumbled.
They all moved into the big unisex salon.
"Welcome to Ms. Pat's Decor. You may have your seats while we attend to you." One of the workers welcomed them. They all complied and took their seats at an end, where nobody was; they were the only people who were gonna occupy that little potion.
"Ah! Sandro, you and Xaviera can't sit with us. You need space to know more about each other. You can look for a different place, while they attend to you; after all we are not the ones gonna get married. See, there's an empty portion there, go and have your seats." Rafaela told them.
Sandro grinned and he and Xaviera turned to where his mother had just pointed at. They took their seats, as they trailed their eyes around, looking at how other soon to be couples were being prepared.
"You see, I hate these kinda places. I'd have been on the bed with Violeta by now. Instead, I'm here wasting my time on some foolish wedding preparation." Sandro scoffed.
"No, it's not right to badmouth the life ahead of you. Your wedding should be your life. If you call it stupid, it won't end well." Xaviera told him, reassuringly.
"And do you think I want this marriage to end well? I'd do anything to make sure we divorce after we marry. Imma even have a secret wedding with Violeta, in front of you. Hah, this world is sweet." Sandro mocked.
"Hmm, let's see how that goes. If you truly love Violeta, let go off her. Forget of her, because she'd die. Have you forgotten what the priest said? He said who ever tries to come between us or separate us would die a painful death. And I don't want anyone to die because of me. Please, take your time to make this decision. You might end up losing her." And she reminded him. What she failed to budge was that, Sandro didn't believe in what the Priest had said the other day.
"And you really think that I believe in myths and superstitions? Go and fuck with you stupid tradition. Until you stop believing in those things, you'd always be a local person. Your eyes would never open to see the modern world. And you'd continue to live a boring life."
Hmm.
"My tradition is not stupid. And what the Priest said weren't myths or superstitions. They are real. I swear, I have watched predictions that man made come true. And you shouldn't take them for granted."
"Can you keep quiet? I'm trying to think about how I'd lay Violeta on the bed tomorrow night. You can give me ideas, that's if you know how to live a romantic life." Sandro teased her.
Those things never bothered Xaviera, because she didn't have any feelings for him. If she loved him, then she'd have done her best to protect the marriage ahead of her.
"The only thing I can tell you is that? Don't turn a deaf ear to what and old man says. In my hometown, all aged people are considered to be the wisest of all creatures. And all that comes out from their mouth are true. They can even tell us what we have never thought of before; and they would all come true."
"Blah blah blah! My hometown, my hometown, my hometown. Why does it always have to be about your hometown? If you ask me, the aged are just like kids. They behave like kids the moment their skin start wrinkling."
Sandro lacked humanity. He just badmouthed all the old men and women in the world, including his parents.
