I woke up sitting in the same chair that I had just rescued Colton from.
"Finally you are up! I don't have a lot of time. A war is about to happen and this is one that I can't miss."
"What is the point of all of this. Everyone will know it was you."
"Yes but before they do it will be too late, and Cole and I will finally live happily ever after."
"Why him?"
Veronica stood up and knelt before me "before you it was him and I. You didn't know him like I did. You weren't at every game. You weren't there holding him when his nightmares started. It was me! I gave him everything just for for him to throw me away. I know he feels regret and misses me I just need to make him see it. I just need more time."
"Times up Veronica."
"It's not up yet sweetheart, and I would celebrate quite yet I've been here for one week and I already got both of your mates to marry me. Who will they believe a jealous she wolf or their Luna? I've got to go. Sparky will finish you. sparky?"
There was no movement for a Moment.
"SPARKY!"
Then out of the shadows I saw a man come in dragging something or I guess I should say someone.
"Sorry my queen I found this rat sniffing around outside." Sparky stepped into the light and I finally saw the girl he was pulling.
Violet.
"What are you doing?"
Violet looked at me "I wanted to help. Everyone had a role but me. I followed your scent I'm so sorry." Violet began crying.
"Give her to me." Veronica looked back at me.
"She dies first." She smiled and pulled out her phone.
"It's time." With that she hung up the phone and grabbed violet and they both quickly disappeared into the darkness.
"Lilly are you there?"
"Always my child."
"We need to get out of here."
"I agree any suggestions."
I wiggled my wrist behind my back. Since I broke the chains they had to settle for rope. I pulled my claws out and began trying to cut.
"You know I remember you signing in the 5th grade play. A voice of an angel."
Sparky was fiddling with things on his table.
"You were there?" Sparky started clapping his hands.
"Of course I was! That was the start of my career. I started really looking at the man and suddenly it clicked. He wasn't just there. He was directing it.
"Me. Sparks?" Sparky stopped and turned towards me.
"It's a long time since I've heard that name." He sighed and took a deep breath. Sparky was our musical director until his entire family was murdered by rouges. The man lost everything. One day sparky didn't show up to school and we never saw hiM again. I remember I was broken. His family was my only friend at the time. He used to teach me piano and tutor me. Before the rogue attack he was a gentle man.
"This isn't who you are Mr. Sparks?"
Sparky looked at me and a tear fell" I don't know who me is anymore?" I had almost made my way thru the rope. I needed more time.
"Elenor would not want this." Elenor was his daughter that was the same age as me. Before she died we used to play in the backyard with our stuffed animals. I met her right before my mom introduced me to Taly.
After thinking about her I look back at sparky and I no longer see a rogue I just see a broken man.
"We can get you help." I whispered.
"How?"
"Help me and we can get you help?" Sparky paused for a moment before he nodded. He went to grab a knife to cut me free. He came back and knelt down. He started cutting from the front so he didn't notice I was almost free from the back and just as he finished he looked at me
"I have a lot of Penance to do." I smiled and just as I was about to stand up blood started coming from sparkys mouth.
"Sparky?" I called out to him but just as I did spark fell to the ground and a much thicker man was standing there with a knife of his own.
"The Queen has decided to go a different direction and cast a new director. I'm Louis"
"And now you're dead." I broke free from the ropes and grabbed sparkys knife that fell into my lap and in one swift motion I threw it his Lois straight between the eyes.
I ran out of the house and headed outside only to be met with screaming. I saw the sky was red and knew I didn't have much time. Soon the blood moon would be over. I was about to take a step further when I felt a burning sensation in my chest.
"What's happening Lilly?"
"You're getting your powers back."
"But I don't understand how?"
" you always thought you were worthless until you got your powers. The moon goddess wanted you to prove that you could be a warrior without them. The warrior makes the gift not the other way around."
I nodded, I knew what she was getting at.
"Are you ready to shift?"
"I've been ready!"
"Then lets make it count. This is our last fight."
"Rose?"
"Yes Lilly?"
"I wouldn't have wanted to be tied to anyone else but you."
"I agree with you on that. Last fight for old time sake?"
I could Lilly in my mind nod "for old times sake"
And with that Lilly and I shifted for the first time in a year.
