Zeke Pov.
"Come forth now and the punishment may be a quick death" Zeke spoke up.
We all stood around the princesses body waiting for the creature that did this to come forth.
I was prepared for rogues.
A mole on the inside maybe.
Hell at this point I was prepared for fucking vampires.
What I was not prepared was to see the most beautiful wolf I have ever had the chance of knowing. It was like the first time I saw her all those years ago on the training field. Her eyes showed bright and I felt the wind be taken out of my lungs. I would have never believed my eyes until she kneeled down revealing violet and Colton badly beaten.
"What happened to my kids!" Cole yelled getting ready to shift and go for Rose. Or is it Liza? Is Liza Rose? She has to be. That has to be how she felt so much like rose and how she fit right into the family. She has to be Rose. At this point I don't think I can take losing her again. I feel my wolf dancing around in my head.
"She looks like mate. Smells like mate. Why is human not smell like her?"
"I don't know. I really don't know what's happening." I told my wolf. Just as Liza laid the kids down she shifted.
"Liza who are you?" I asked finally regaining a train of thought.
Just then Cel came into the clearing limping bleeding from her arm and leg.
"I tried to hold them off. But..... oh good you finally killed Veronica. I felt her spirit leave."
"I'm sorry can someone start explaining.ANYONE"
"What happened is I told you to get rid of Liza and you didn't listen. Now the princess is dead our treaty is fucked and our pack is getting ambushed by rogues. She needs to be killed and we need to hurry and save as many of our people as possible."
"Zeke look at me. I will explain everything but right now we need to go save the pack. You need me. If you don't want to hear what I have to say after then fine kill me. But you will let me save my pack." Liza looked at me without an ounce of fear. Like she wasn't afraid of death. The way she spoke was spoken like a true queen. Ignored Cole and just kept staring at Liza.
"What's your plan?" I finally said to her.
"We need to get to the town. Asher you get the kids to safety Cole, Zeke come with me."
She shifted back into her wolf form and we all followed suit.
It didn't take long to make it to the town. Rogues were strongly outnumber our warriors and since the ambush not all the children and wives were able to make it to the bunker. We needed to move quick if we didn't want to lose the whole back.
Cole must've been thinking the same thing because we took one look at eachother and nodded before heading off to help our people. I heard screaming in a house near by and headed in their first.
There were 2 rogues toying with a small child. I saw that her father was dead in the other room. No sign of the mother yet.
I said yet.
Just then I hear a women scream come from the bedroom and when I break the door down I see she's being held down by another rogue. I wasted no time and split his throat open without hesitation.
Then I headed back to the the little girl and killed the remaining rogues.
"Cole there is too many of them what are we going to do."
Liza Pov:
The town is on fire and everything is in chaos. The screaming is almost unbearable.
"Lilly what are we going to do?"
"Focus your fire on the rogues."
"How do I do that?"
"Think rose."
I closed my eyes and focus on all the rotten souls and negative energy.
I knelt down and sunk my paws deep into the ground.
"Let's hope this works"
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. I thought about everything that's happened in the last year and all my family has been through. I thought about how much I've been able to grown and get a new perspective on life. I focused all my love and energy into my power and I felt like something inside me had been unlocked. Something that in all my years I've never felt.
The roots in the ground started to glow and my powers started to spread through the pack grounds. Everywhere from the roots to the vines to the electricity.
Everything went quiet for a moment before I started smelling burning flesh. I begin looking around and see the rogues start dropping.
People began gathering and coming out of their houses.
Warriors stood guard but began bring people to the pack hospital. I don't know how to explain it but it was like they knew in that moment everything was going to be ok and soon it would be over.
I kept my energy flowing and I didn't even realize that I had begun floating. I shifted back into my human body but as I looked at the grey hair that laid across my shoulders. I realized it was actually my body.
Me.
I was back to me.
I held on until I didn't hear anymore screaming and finally I was able to let go.
The glows went away and I lowered myself back to the ground.
It was over.
Veronica was gone.
My kids were safe.
And even though many lost their life trying to protect their love ones we will be able to rebuild and live another day. I stood up to my feet and I saw pack member gather in the field around me.
Many began to whisper. Some began to cry.
"OUR LUNA HAS SAVED US ONCE AGAIN!"
People began to cheer.
I looked around and one particular face stood out to me.
Among the people stood Cole followed by Zeke.
They looked like a dear in the headlight.
I took my steps towards the to close the distance until I was only a touch away from them.
"It's.. it's you..." I saw the tear fall from Coles face. I wiped it away just as he hugged me.
"My love. I wanted it to be you so bad." Cole began kissing my face all over.
"Let the girl breathe." Zeke wined from behind him just as he pulled me away and buried his face into the crook of my neck.
"Mate" he whispered.
"Mate" I whispered back.
It was all over.
Or so I thought.
The blood moon started to glow a little brighter and then in appeared right infront of us was the moon goddess.
"My child you've completed your task and set destiny back on track.l knew you had it in you and I am so proud"
"Thank you for renuniting my family and making us whole again" Cole told Selene.
I cleared my throat.
"Actually my love. I can't stay." I said as I felt the tears start filling my eyes but I was refusing to let them fall.
"No you can't" I heard a little voice come from behind me. I turned around to see my three children standing there crying. They heard of my return and left the hospital to come see for themselves.
I walked over towards them and knelt.
"Life is made up of a bunch of moment. It's those moment that we are left with. The day I got shot I thought my moments with you guys were gone but here I am blessed to have a few more with you. Not many people can say that. Violet my sweet child I got to see you fall in love and overcome obstacles and be the brave girl I know you are." I kissed her forehead.
"Colton you have a Mate! And it's with the most precious girl around. I'm so thrilled for you." I kissed his forehead.
"Then there is my little Einstein. Who would have thought you could build a volcano like that and win the science fair. You will be an amazing scientist one day." I kissed his forehead.
"All of these moments is what we need to be thankful for and know that I kept my promise to each one of you by coming back. I love you all."
"I don't understand why you are leaving us again. What was the point in all of this. What sick joke is this getting you back just to let you go again."
"Fate has a funny way of stirring up trouble. Selene let me come back to fix they things that were not meant to be. The only problem is that it's not simple just coming back to life. There is always a price. A life for a life. After tonight and how much blood was shed because of veronicas hatred towards me. No one else will die because of me."
I was about to continue when Selene cut me off. "That's very brave of you my child and spoken like the true queen I always knew you to be. Veronica was not supposed to come back and interfe. However since she did and you killed her. Her spirit no longer exist. Therefore technically you took her life again."
"What are you saying?" I asked her.
"I'm saying you have completed your tasks and the debt has been paid. You can make a few more moments with your family. We owe you."
At this moment reality set in and I just collapsed crying.
I can stay.
I can have my family back.
I slowing felt Lilly get stronger as the mate bond was returned to me.
I looked up noticing that the boys must have gotten theirs back as well because there eyes show nothing else but lust.
I stood up and ran towards my mate kissing them both as if my life depended on it.
"Eww get a room" cedric yelled
" oh we will" the boys howled in unison. My boys.
I was finally back home.
******1 year later******
"Don't you dare drop that cake" I hollered over my shoulder.
"And hear your mouth I wouldn't dream of it" Cole snickered behind me.
"Okay flower go over there and make sure that the ice sculpture isn't melting."
"Rose?" One of the maids called.
"Yes what is it?"
"Come quick its an emergency " is all she said before bowing and running away.
I sighed and ran back up to the house and down the hallways before opening the door and seeing her.
"What is all the commotion?" I said as I closed the door behind me.
"Look at dress! It's ripped! It's bad luck!" I looked to see a hysterical violet in a beautiful white dress with a snag at the end of her dress. You honestly could see it.
"Now violet take a deep breath. I can sew this up. And we will be on our way. Stop crying before you complain about puffy eyes." Violet straightens right up and it took me two secs to fix the dress.
"There" I said smiling and violet did too once she realized it was as if it was never there.
"You do great work. Think you can let this one out. I feel like I can't breathe." I turned to see Marie laying on the bed her and Colton were expecting their first pup any day now.
"It's time." We heard Cole knock from the other side of the door.
"Let's go" I grabbed the back of violets dress and we made our way to the ceremony hall.
Marie went and found her place across from Colton at the alter and the music began to play as Zeke and Cole walked on each side of her.
"Do you take miss Violet to be you wife. Though sickness and in health."
"I do" said Liam.
"And do yo I take mr. Liam to be you lawfully wedded husband through sickness and in health."
"I promise to fill the silence when there is not words.to be your bestfriend. Your confidant, and your lover. I promise to be patient and kind and work through all obstacles we have together. I violet Do take you to me my husband."
"Then I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride." They both shared a sweet yet passionate kiss and I over hear Liam whisper "I mean all those things you said too." Which made my heart swell. They will make a great couple.
"Who wasn't to party!" I hear as the bottles of champagne begin popping. The crowd is blessing the couple as we watch them do their first dance. Then after that violet took turns dancing with both of her fathers.
"And now Liam would like to share a dance with his mother Cel."
Cel was caught off guard and Liam grabbed her hand before she could start crying. They danced to a simple song letting the lyrics speak where they couldn't find the word. As the dance came to an end Liam hugged Cel and said "I love you mom" before coming to take his seat at our table.
So there we sit. All of my children. Both of my mates and all of my close friends. It been a hell of a year but we made it. I looked around my table and saw nothing but love and happiness. This is how my life is meant to be. I was pondering all of my thoughts when I see out of the corner of my eye. Selene dancing In The garden with some butterflies.
She looked at me and laughed and I raised my glass up to her as she started to fade away.
What ever it was destiny or fate. I always wondered if the moon goddess knew this was going to be the out come.
"May I have this dance?" Zeke reached out to me. Of course my beast I said as I kissed his cheek. Whether she did or not.
I'm happy that I have these moments of happiness to last me a life time.
