"But, she insists so. And she told me that if I don't stop nagging at her, she will hate me. I don't have a choice, so I just let her," Mary explained,

"What?" Madam Rose shocked then she goes out to the garden, then saw Vendia enjoying herself outside helping the gardeners with their work,

"Is this good, Sir, Aloit?" Vendia ask, done designing the branch she picks for herself

"Oh is good, you're a fast learner," Sir Aloit, the gardener praises her, she blushes, feeling glad Sir Aloit has been a gardener into the marquis for seven years now, and he is already forty years old.

"VENDIA," Madam Rose shouts at them.

"Mother?" she turns around and gets down to the ladder, then went over to her,

"What do you think you are doing? Is hot outside. What if your skin gets tanned?" She nags at her.

"Mother is fine is not that hot and, besides. I want to help outside the garden too because I don't have things to do." Vendia answer,

"But still..." Madam Rose insists,

"Mother..."

"Okay, but first wear this, and this," Madam Rose put on a sun hat cap and long white gloves to Vendia.

"Uh... okay, thank you, mother," She replied,

"Madam is nice to see you... how's your husband doing?" Sir Aloit greet Madam Rose.

"Sir Aloit is nice to see you too. Marthen is fine. I'm sorry we didn't get time to visit you and your family. It's been hectic these days in our house,"

"Ahh... I understand, Vendia has grown so well," Sir Aloit mentioned Vendia's blushes.

"Ahh… of course, she is, I'm her mother," Madam Rose declare

"Hmm... yes, I supposed so," Sir Aloit reply, shrugging his shoulder.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Madam Rose sulking and Vendia laugh,

"See your, daughter doesn't agree too," Sir Aloit told them. Madam Rose turn to look at her daughter as Vendia stopped, laughing,

"HA HA HA HA" Sir Aloit laugh, then Vendia wonders why her mother speaks to Sir Aloit, casually.

"Mother, why do you speak to Sir Aloit as if you knew him for so long?" Vendia asked

"Oh, you didn't tell her? You are cruel. Madam Rose," Sir Aloit wearing a hurt expression,

"Are you okay, Sir Aloit?" Vendia look worried for him,

"No, your mother abandoned me," He quips, fake crying.

"Huh?" She got confused

Deep sigh,

"Stop, Sir Aloit, my daughter might get a wrong idea about us," Madam Rose tells.

"Why not let your daughter believe what she thinks it is," Sir Aloit respond,

"Huh?" Vendia so confused and lost at the moment,

"PFT HA HA HA HA your so cute and innocent, she just likes you, Rose," Sir Aloit compare them,

"Yeah, right? Vendia, Sir Aloit here is your grandfather's trusted knight and best friend," Madam Rose explain,

'What? I didn't know this part about Vendia's life but come to think of it. This kind of situation is not in the book too, and now that I'm here. I learn new things about Vendia life,' Yerre thought.

"Oh... so that is why... then why is he here working for us? And he's a gardener?" Vendia asks, confused.

"I retire as a knight after your grandfather dies, and I ask favor from your mother to hire me as a gardener at your father's residence so that if something came, I could protect you all," Sir Aloit explains.

"Oh,"

"Yes," Sir, Aloit smile at her,

"Protect us? Ha!" Madam Rose scoffed,

"Hey, I just got here," Sir, Aloit defend himself,

"Oh, should I care about it?" Madam Rose responds and the two of them start to argue like a little kid, while Vendia continues to look at both of them surprised.
