|ChanHyuck's POV|
"This next fan story is one that goes back quite a few years. The two met when they were both thirteen. Sun's fan story." I explain as Sun's face lights up.
Jane steps include stage with a cheerful smile. She turns toward SunMi and motions for her to come stand next to her. SunMi rushes toward her friend and takes her hand in hers.
"Let's sit down, Captain, this might take a while." Jane leads SunMi toward the edge of the stage. The two of them sit down, their hands still intertwined.
"I'm Jane Kim. I go by Sin online. This chick here to my left is known by a lot of people as the Snow Queen, but she's so much more than that. When I met her, I was thirteen and stupid. I used games as a way of escaping my problems. It was my attempt to numb my pain, but it never really worked. I was close to quitting, but then I stumbled across Sun. I spent hours trying to complete a quest on my own. I didn't ask for help from anyone. I didn't want to be another pesky newbie player who always asked the higher level players for help, so I did everything on my own. I died for what seemed like the millionth time when someone revived me and sent me a team invite." Jane chuckles as she glances over at SunMi.
"I felt bad. I watched you die like ten times before I stepped up." SunMi laughs as she rests her head on Jane's shoulder.
"I'm glad you did. I probably would've spent another ten hours on that stupid quest before I finished it. You helped me get it done in twenty minutes." Jane presses her cheek against the top of SunMi's head.
"The magical Snow Queen everyone was always talking about was helping me. She spent weeks helping me level and getting me better equipment and weapons. We started voice chatting about a month after our first encounter. Sun heard some things she shouldn't have. I was raised in a home full of alcohol and violence. Sun was on voice chat with me when my dad came into my room drunk. He slapped me around for a good ten minutes before leaving. When I managed to collect myself, I noticed she was still in the voice chat. I put my headset on and she was crying. The powerful and relentless Snow Queen everyone had been talking about was crying because of me." Jane takes a shaky breath as she glances over at SunMi. She chuckles weakly as she notices SunMi hiding behind her hair.
"Look—she's even crying now." Jane laughs as she dries her own tears.
"Sun changed my life that day. She told me that I don't deserve to be pushed around. She told me that I was too special to become another statistic. She begged me to tell someone. I left the voice chat and didn't sign back on for over a week. I spent that week thinking about everything she said. I went to school on a Friday and told the counselor everything. The following Monday, I was in a foster home—far away from my parents. I signed back into the game and Sun immediately requested a voice chat with me. When I told her what I did, she started crying again." Jane wraps her arms around SunMi.
"She told me that she spent the week I was missing crying. She said she was so scared she lost me that she couldn't sleep or eat. She just sat there watching and waiting for my name to light up. I was adopted by an amazing couple within eight months. I finally had a safe home to call my own. Sun made it possible for me to heal. She got me out of a mess and helped pave a road to happiness for me." Jane holds the microphone over her shoulder for me to grab. I quickly take it from her as she struggles to get SunMi on her feet. SunMi buries her face in Jane's neck as she scurries off to the side of the stage.
