I sat on the couch as I read a book, calming music playing in the background. The soft pitter patter of rain added to the tranquility. " I wish Kakashi was here " I sighed and put my book down. The copy ninja had to go on a month long A rank mission and hasn't come back yet.
Everyone says he's alright and will come back soon, but I can't help worrying. " I just have to keep believing in him " I told myself as I got up from my couch and walked over towards the window. All of Konoha was drenched by water that kept falling. Though most think of sad things when looking at rain i think about all the happy times I've spent with Kakashi in the rain.
I felt a wave of exhaustion hit me and suddenly regret staying up at night. I'm afraid of the dark and usually Kakashi is always there to comfort me when I have bad memories, I'm still not used to him not being by my side at night. My past always comes back to haunt me while I sleep and I end up sleep fighting. And like always I end up sore in the morning.
I get myself some coffee and chug it down, hoping it keeps me awake.Life wasn't on my side though, so the coffee made me even more tired. ' Only one more week left ' I reminded myself, trying to make things seem not so bad. I made my way back to the couch and wrapped myself with a sheet, falling asleep.

Fire was all I could see as I called for my parents. " Mommy!.....Daddy! " My 5 year old self shouted. Tears fell from my eyes like rain, drenching my shirt. I began coughing from the smoke, my vision blurring. I continued to walk though, still searching.
Suddenly I tripped and scraped my knee. Blood dripped from the scratch. I turned and looked at what I tripped over. My eyes widened as I screamed, looking straight into my parents lifeless eyes, looks of terror on their faces. " No no no no....no.. " I whispered, not being able to look away.Slowly I began to lose consciousness until my eyes closed.

I gasped as my eyes shot open, sweat all over. I quickly looked around and sighed. " Another nightmare " I mumbled. I tried to get up but found it useless. I looked down and saw an arm around my waist, light snoring were behind me.
' Remember what kakashi taught you ' I took a deep breath before quickly elbowing the intruder. Their grip loosened and I ripped myself out their grasp, grabbing the closest thing and pointing it at them. " Is this how you welcome me home after 3 weeks? " a familiar silver haired ninja groaned as he held his stomach while wincing.
I dropped the sword that I grabbed and rushed over to him, apologizing repeatedly. " It's alright, I should've slept somewhere else " He mumbled, rubbing his neck with a sheepish grin. I couldn't help but smile and hug him. I felt his arms embrace me as well, silence filling the room. Well everything was silent except for my sniffles as I cried in his chest. " I'm so happy you're back " I wailed while looking up at him.
" I'm sorry if I worried you " He whispered as he said sweet nothing's in my ear, rocking me to calm me down. My wails simmered down after a while and my eyes got heavy again, sleep soon getting to me. The last thing I heard was a little " surprise " and the rain.
