It was amusing to see how he fell into my traps, one by one, acting as if he knew everything when in reality, he knew nothing—well, nothing that I didn't want him to know.
It was fun to see the people who looked down at me in disdain, also couldn't resist my charms, and, in the end, trip over their own two feet.
Alas, being hidden in the palace all day long limited my amusement, and even though I was able to influence the secular matters of the kingdom, I had no way of seeing the changes I made with my own two eyes.
You see, I was a royal, a princess, but a more fitting term would be a "forgotten" princess. No one in the outside world knew my face nor my name; all that was recorded was that"there was a 13th princess who was adopted by the late consort Mariabelle as a replacement for her own deceased daughter. The 13th princess resided within the palace and had a sickly institution."
In other words, I was just one of King Ernest's numerous children; but I was even lower than them because I didn't have any royal blood, and thus had no power—at least, that was what was revealed to the public.
And so, I prompted the king to send me off to Loen, where my experiences would undoubtedly be much richer than the small little world I was in now… and where I would be able to see… the kingdom of Marude crumble from a safe distance.
Yes.
Indeed, wouldn't it be a grand project?! Manipulating the kingdom's rulers like a puppet right under their noses!
And to top it off, NO ONE will find out.
It's the sense of intense satisfaction and amusement that comes with such an achievement that appeals to me.
Just thinking about it makes me giddy with happiness!
Sitting in the horse-pulled carriage heading for Loen's Golden Rose academy, I had smiled gently at my father's back that was fading into the distance.
Oh, Father, dear King of Marude, I hope you enjoy the humble blessings that I, Lancera Delacroix, have arranged for you.
…
Facing the grand double doors of the Golden Rose Academy entrance, I breathed an inaudible sigh.
Turning around, I saw the paved path that led down to the faraway towns and through the peripheral chunks of dense forestry, as well as the majestic neatly trimmed gardens filled with golden roses.
As I gazed at the soft cotton clouds that dotted the calm blue sky with its changing hues, there was a sense of relief, somehow, and for the first time in my entire life, I thought I could truly breathe without any limitations.
But I suppose I had gotten happy too early.
I hadn't thought that I would get trapped by my own little tricks, causing me to fall into the waiting arms of a villainess called Asura Claremont.
