"Why are you scared of me? Palace guards are supposed to help villagers so why are you raising your sword at me?" She questioned noticing even the slightest movement he made. She wasn't a threat to anyone.
"You killed my friend," he reminded her of the dead body that lay behind her on the ground. Richard used his sword to point behind her at his fallen friend.
Turning around and somehow now noticing the dead body on the ground she gasped at the sight of the dead male and blood. "I did that?" She questioned in disbelief. It was as if her mind had blacked out for a moment when she killed the guard and she wasn't in control of her body then.
"What's wrong with me?" She cried more blood tears asking the guard. She grew more angry than sad seeing him back away from her. She just needed someone to talk to to help her understand this strange event.
"What's happening?" Another guard asked upon arriving at the scene with four other guards. He immediately noticed the strange girl, the frightened guard, and a guard was missing. "Who are you? By the orders of King Darius, we ask you to give up. You will be imprisoned-"
"Shut up," she muttered, slightly annoyed at not making any progress in finding out what happened to her. She felt her body twitch in need to drink again. "Just tell me what happened to me." Everything was just so confusing for her right now. If she just had some idea that she died maybe just maybe she could work out how she came back alive.
The guard looked at Richard to explain the situation. "Who is this girl and where is your partner?"
"She just woke up from the pile of bodies we had to burn and killed Gerald. She saw a stab wound and wants to know how she died but I don't know," Richard answered whilst taking as many steps back as he could. He didn't know when the girl would start attacking and wanted to be the first to run away if that happened.
"If you ended up in prison that means you committed a crime and should be punished for it. We will take you to be interrogated by the king. Listen to us or be killed," the guard warned what he viewed to be a monster.
Normal people who die do not come back alive. This girl had to be evil. He also knew if they took her to the king they could be rewarded for bringing the king someone who was abnormal. "Come with us to be imprisoned."
"I committed a crime?" She asked herself. What crime could she have possibly committed? It felt out of place. Then again she had easily killed a guard without even noticing it. She was a danger to others. "Please tell me what happened to me! Why am I like this?"
"Just follow our order," the guard said slowly walking up to her with his group. They had to handle this very carefully since they did not know what she was capable of doing. It was better to be safe than sorry or dead.
"No," she refused when she felt the thirst overwhelming her again. Her mind was on the verge of blacking out again. She remembered this much before the death of the guard. They all needed to leave before she could kill them too.
"Please leave before I do something to you. Please," she staggered, moving away from them. She didn't want to hurt anyone. All she wanted was to know what happened to her and why she was this way.
Maybe the king could help her? She knew the kings had dealt with people out of this world before so maybe he could help her understand what happened to her and why she remembered everything but how she died. "
Take me to the king. I need to know what happened to me. I grew up in a village with my family...." she trailed off starting to remember something. "My family," she whispered. Images of her family covered in blood flooded her mind. Her family had all died. The memory of her stabbing her mother and father before killing herself was back.
"I killed them," she stated upon realizing. "I killed my family."
"And that's why you need to be punished for the monster you are. How could you kill your own blood?" A guard stated and Richard wondered how stupid they were. They were casually speaking to someone who came back from the dead. Shouldn't they try to bring in the army? Was he the only one with common sense? The sudden sound of her laughter brought even more fright.
"I finally killed them," she laughed like a maniac. Her scum of a family was gone. She was finally free from their abuse.
"Enough of this. You are to be punished. As a previous villager, you should know that someone like you should not be allowed to roam around or even be alive. So shut up and stand down before I cut you down," the bravest one of the guards commented. He took his sword and waved it in the air before slicing a piece of her body with it.
"No," she whispered, feeling the sudden urge to drink something again. How was she supposed to control this feeling?
"R-Red eyes," Richard stuttered, seeing her eyes had changed to red. Before there was blood running from her brown eyes but now her eyes were red. They were certainly going to die just like Gerald.
