The true secret of happiness lies in the taking a genuine interest in all the details of daily life. "- William Morris
After yesterday Gregory and I seemed to have gotten along pretty well. We went for the tour round Ridge Wood during free period and I really enjoyed being his guide. He was a lively companion.
From what I learnt from him, he was the second child of his parents and he had an elder sister;Macy and younger brother; Randy. His family should be a wonderful one judging by what I've heard. But it doesn't mean I'd want to trade my own family. I love my family and nothing or no one can ever change that.
Getting to class, we part our ways and took our respective seats.
"How was your date" Tessy teased and I smirked eerily at her.
"It wasn't a date. I was getting him familiar with the environment" I corrected.
After the quiz we were given assignments. Tessy was disappointed after the quiz because she made an unpardonable error. We were meeting at 18:00GMT with Gregory, who invited us for a hangout.
Tessy had stayed over for the weekend, our usual routine of sleepovers.
I got into the shower letting the cold water drip down from my hair to my whole body. After towelling and blow - drying my hair I left it in a messy bun. I took out my grey tank top with a high waist jeans and put on my black toms. After inspecting my look, I went down.
"Someone's looking hot! " Tessy eyed.
"Thank you" I bowed making us both laugh.
We met at the restaurant and took a seat at a corner somewhere out of public view. We made lots of conversations, ate, laughed, and above all we had fun. Our day wasn't complete without seeing Demi and her friends approach our table. They waved in our direction to make us aware of their presence.
Tessy wasn't comfortable with having them join us because of their not so good history together.
"Gregory, Heidi thanks for having us" She ignored Tessy's presence.
"Welcome" Gregory told her "She's nice".
" She is"I replied. I won't deny the fact that she's pretty but I don't know about Gregory and her.
Because you have a thing for him.
Lost in my own world, I didn't notice that time was far spent. Until he invited me to his house for a dinner with his family. I felt like wrapping my hands all over him but I stopped myself from trying to look desperate for him. I may be outspoken and all of that, but I wouldn't ever sell my dignity for no reason.
The same way I wouldn't hesitate to tell whatever's on my mind. And by this no one is excluded no matter your position or status.
"I seriously can't stand her! " Shouted a pissed off Tessy who has been keeping it all in till we got home.
I understand how she feels, I would be like that or even worse if I was in her position.
Making her calm and relaxed I got some ice cream from the fridge for us. This was our way of getting back after we've been through an awfully terrible day; a.k.a. 'Demi'. And it really helps all the time.
"I'm so rooting for you and Gregory" She started.
"Please not this again! We just met and I don't even know him well enough" I told her.
"It doesn't matter cause even the worst of enemies end up together. 'She was not giving up on this and so I would just allow her to be in her Dreamland.
" We need to get you ready for tomorrow "she went into my wardrobe picking outfits I wasn't going to wear.
I wasn't able to sleep early having Tessy around together with going to Gregory's house, having him just move to my school and being invited to his house was a lot. I didn't want to come across as loose or a gold digger.
Something no one had ever said to me and I wouldn't want it to be the first time I was told.
I guess I would have to wait till tomorrow to know how they will react to seeing me.
I woke up a little late than my usual waking up time. I hurriedly got in the shower and dressed up. I put on a yellow dress that ended just below my knee. I got down after checking myself in the mirror and I was so thankful that Tessy wasn't awake as I left without making any noise.
Gregory's house wasn't far from mine, I could have walked had I known earlier. But all the same it's not a big deal. I called him to let him know I was there. He came out to meet me and we went inside. His family was hospitable enough and I felt very much welcomed and comfortable.
"I'm glad you made a friend at your new school " His father said.
We both smiled not wanting to reveal any displeasure at his statement. He took me to the garden after dinner and we talked for a while.
"I know we just got acquainted but I've really grown fond of you. " He held onto me.
"I could say the same thing too" I told him.
"I promise to be your best friend for ever. Nothing and no one will come between us" He hugged me.
Who could have thought we would end up being best friends, and aside Tessy I have made another friend. I have grown so much fond of him it's good to know we both feel the same towards each other. Unfortunately, I had to go back home. We said our goodbyes and I left.
I was almost home when I ran into Tessy on the street leading to the house. I stopped the car,got down and walked towards her. Little did I know that she was unconsciously sitting with her body supporting a chair. Where from the chair? What happened to her? I took her by the hand dragging her to my car and drove off to the hospital.
