Chereads / The World Flipped / Chapter 5 - An uncertain journey

Chapter 5 - An uncertain journey

Rein had continuously poured stat points in his strength and intelligence stat, which made him strong and the rate at which he was able to think and decide the best possible move for the situation was fast thanks to investing his stat points in intelligence.

Upon every level up, 10 stat point is gained, Rein had been putting 5 stat point in strength until he reaches level 10, so currently he's strength stat was 60, it was enough to deal a huge blow on the alpha male.

[target has received 15 damage]

The alpha male drifted back and started to walk in circles like a lion observing it's meal, while he crouched down a little in a stance that made it easy for him to throw himself on Rein who landed a punch to the neck of the alpha male upon the moment of impact, the alpha male retreated back and charged straightforward again, slamming its head against Rein's chest, forcibly pushing him back.

[you have received 70 damage]

The advantage of having strength was that it gave you strong stamina, and some things could be tackled on equal footing, the alpha had intended to keep pushing Rein until had fallen and it would maybe tear him with its sharp fangs till Rein died, but Rein who was already too strong for a level 10, focused more strength to his leg and they both came to a halt, the alpha male which had tried to immediately escape the moment it saw that Rein had enough strength to tackle him, had already been gripped by its large ears.

Rein took a very deep breath in and upon breathing out heavily, he lifted the alpha male with a loud groan and immediately slammed it on the floor

[target has received 147 damage]

[target has entered the stunned state for 3 seconds]

Without wasting a minute Rein jumped on him

"hahaha this is your end your stupid wolf, feel the might of my rapid punch",

powpowpowpowpow... ¬

Rein continuously hit the dire wolf alpha with the rabbit fang he had, which was now already penetrating the direwolf's skin.

[target has received 11 damage]

[.....]

[target has died]

Rein fell to the floor when he realized that the dire wolf that had been struggling to stand as he sat comfortably on it and stabbed it continuously with the fang he held has stopped moving, his hands were covered in blood and his school uniform which was now very dirty due to the rabbit blood and his uncle's blood, now the direwolf's blood was a plause.

Rein watched as the blue transparent light engulfed the direwolf's body.

He closed his eyes to enjoy the moment only to be interrupted by the dire wolves howl which was coming closer to him and the various notification that popped up in front of him.

[you have gained 67 895 exp points for defeating a level 25 monster]

[level up]

[level up]

[level up]

[level up]

[you have received 250 000 achievement points for doing the unthinkable by challenging a direwolf alpha]

[you have received 400 000 achievement points for defeating a direwolf alpha]

[you have gained the title Direwolf Alpha for defeating a direwolf alpha, title effect: passive skill wolf language, all normal wolves you meet would enter the fear state, 20% exp gain when hunting monsters in a pack with the direwolves]

[you have gained additional 500 000 achievement points for performing an outstanding feat]

"That was all?"

it was weird with this much reward Rein suddenly had a dissatisfied look on his face.

"seriously are we not forgetting the most important thing here"

he flared and stood to his feet, he looked around him and saw the pitiful faces of the dire wolves that were waiting for his command, they never got to hunt, he then realized the alpha's death does not stop them from hunting here.

"so I either have to kill them or evacuate them from the area, Even though I can now talk to dire wolves due to the passive skill it still feels weird but I've got no choice"

Rein clears his throat and begins to address the dire wolves, he didn't need to howl, but the dire wolves understood him, and he could understand their howlings too.

He had convinced them to move hunting grounds and told them of how humans would kill them if they kept hunting, of course, leaving out the fact that he was the human that would've killed them if they kept hunting there. The dire wolves howled in unison when he had explained and convinced them to move to another hunting area, he also put the female alpha in charge and warned them not to have an alpha duel till he meet them again, it was obvious he did that so he could enjoy the exp gain from hunting together with them. Upon doing this, the notification he had been longing for popped up.

[you have completed the quest exterminate the direwolves]

[you have completed the quest within the time range go to your starting point to receive reward]

Rein closed the notification and sigh

"did I get really lucky or it was my gaming experience that played out. By the way..."

he takes a glance around

"Why on earth are they still looking at me, I've settled you wolves so you should go now".

[the dire wolves are touched by your concern and care for them]

[you have received an epic class: Descent of the Lycans, you would need to change race to a dire wolf on acceptance of this quest]

[would you like to accept the quest Y/N]

"God forbid!!! No!! decline immediately right now, what the hell, change race to a dire wolf, never in my life will I, this is just to mean, why will I become an animal".

Rein turned to them and snarled at them, scaring them to run away. They hurriedly ran and howled as they ran.

"Rubbish I was one step away from becoming a wolf, I can't believe the gods behind this, expects me to become an animal, is he trying to ruin my dreams, how's a dire wolf supposed to buy luxurious houses".

Rein complained to himself as he journeyed back to his starting point.

... ¬

It was after a while, Rein then saw a carriage coming in front of him, he had expected a wagon if it was a merchant, never the less he begged for it to be a merchant. As the carriage which was being pulled by two neat butter coloured horses came nearer.

Rein could see the man that sat in front of the carriage, a fat port bellied man that looked like he is in his 40s, the man had a deep black moustache and no beards, he was half bald and the hair left at the back of his head was deep black as if he had dyed it.

The carriage came closer and finally stopped, the man left the horse rope and majestically stepped down, carefully watching his steps, from his gesture Rein could tell he was probably a very rich noble merchant, he seemed too pompous.

Rein was awakened from his thought by the man's thick and slow voice.

"I noticed I couldn't find any dangers as I was coming did you take care of them"

Rein bowed slightly and replied the man

"yes sir"

If there was any other lesson Rein had learned from playing advanced games, it was never to be rude to NPCs as it could have impacts on quest rewards, but the actual truth that stood before him was not an NPC, he was an actual man, unlike games the man didn't have his name and level floating over his head, so this was real, and not a game he had to be as nice as he could to get the best reward out of the man.

"hmmm you are quite humble, you don't look like an elf, nor do you look like a the Draconians, if I would say you are a Draconian but wouldn't it be weird, we've not seen the draconian for over many years now, even their existence now seems to be nighttime stories"

Rein was becoming uncomfortable as the man looked him over and over again in the curiosity of what he is.

"I am a human sire!"

Rein shouted softly and bowed a little again.

"oh really, but ain't you looking too weird, what's it with that skin, and clothes, I'm a human too but I can bet I've never seen any human looking like you in all my years of travel"

"I'm not from here sire, I too don't understand but this is my first time here"

Rein explained to the man. As the man had said, he's skin colour varied from Rein's, Rein had first thought it was an effect of being very rich and noble, but the man claimed that all humans looked like him, that is they had a fresh, smooth, almost white-skinned and only varied in body structures and hair colours, eye colours their skin was the same.

"You know what... this is your reward"

The man handed him a pouch filled with silver coins,

" take it its 500 silver coins it's your reward for taking care of the wolves, if you don't mind, you can get on and I may drop you to wherever you are going, we can talk more about you on the way, I'm going to Leceiviester City anyway"

Just then notifications popped up

"I'm sorry sir for delaying, I would like to journey with you to lucifer...

".... Leceiviester... "

The man corrected him.

".... Leceiviester city."
