The eyes that met on the winter slope, the snowflakes that fell in between....just halted these two souls at that moment when their eyes met. It was as though in that stare a silent exchanges of words went across 'do you not remember our vows?'
That moment where everything stalled - every hurt they've been through here seems so minute compared to what they have fought for.
Even the memories had been removed as they came through here but the soul recognises...and in that comfort embrace where Yan Lan pulled Kay in. Every worldly concern fell to their feet, from this embrace - it was just their souls consoling each other the words that came through Kay "I miss you" was an automatic reaction from the depth of his heart ... the misses that was kept sealed was just torn down, the wall that he had built came crashing down and he was just speechless at this moment. Confused on his reaction yet a warm feeling of comfort in his heart came through as the embrace tighten. The night that they had spent where their souls reunite had them found each other back thoroughly.
They made it through the chapter of the movie - they did. They had set the path to let the world know from the moment they saw each other at the rapeseeds field ....it was a dream came through for both like how they envisioned it.
In this time and dimension the test of time and their emotions were stretched to the fullest. They had to learn to control their feelings and emotions like how they were taught to do in this journey much more.
They had to learn to be happy in front of all, be emotionless, not moved easily yet maintain and preserve the core of their purest feelings setting examples for all to decipher despite all that had been hurled through against them.
Back at his studio, Kay had been thinking about the agreement they had to visit the place that Yan Lan had bought. Grateful for his conviction and love, yet he needed to concur his fear and priority to have Yan Lan always protected at all times.
Yet little did he know there were many guardian angels that were sent to watch over them as well.
Kay looked at his phone. Being away from Yan Lan made him think a lot usually and that's the very reason why Yan Lan wants to have them back together. So he can manage the thoughts and uncertainties Yan Lan faces at times.
Countless tears, it had been countless tears and heartache perhaps, it was his journey this time to be presented with these challenges. Can loving someone hurt them, if so should he hold back? And he had been toying this uncertainty ever since issues and misunderstanding cropped up within the entertainment circle. Their dreams of the past had gotten more frequent and he questioned 'is staying apart the only way.'
Kay's phone flicker as he picks it up "Hey Yan Lan"
"I'll pick you up" Yan Lan said not allowing a no for an answer
"Hmm, I'm finishing late Yan Lan, don't want you to wait" he responded
"I'll send the driver to pick you over" Yan Lan insisted
Yan Lan's schedule had been extremely packed as well, but his priority to have Kay with him is key - not seeing him just gets him worked up and agitated. And his safety is paramount given all their encounters as stardom hits them. When they had parted the last time Yan Lan became quiet, he was quietly desperately searching for Kay wanting him to share his burden. They had made a pact after so much speculations and expectations from the public. Staying low key and keeping a distance - and that distance took away the closeness they had which Yan Lan swore it was the worst decision of all time.
He had no access to Kay especially when it was Kay himself avoiding Yan Lan and that made matters worst. Speculation on their relationship was taken out of context and the play up from the press had created more friction. While their guardian angels stood strong to protect them - they had also had their fair share of challenges with the fans circle to manage.
Kay remembers the day when he had broke down from the surrounding pressure and just wanted to be alone, Yan Lan stood by him just making sure he was there despite his busy schedule.
Their lives here while it took off and created such frenzy around the world, it came with heavy responsibility and expectations.
They've made many plans, many dreams were casted and plans that their walk would really take them towards building a life and family together, as hard as it may seems they were determined. But there were also many pauses in between. These pauses made it extremely difficult to proceed.
As Yan Lan's driver picked Kay up - so much thoughts went through Kay's mind. On one hand meeting Yan Lan back unexpectedly (well to him it was unexpected despite Yan Lan knowing Kay will be heading off to ski) did answer his question. He was sure there's more to it than meet the eyes - this connection that ran so deep. And he keeps recalling the prediction that he had received about him and Yan Lan, that they will be very compatible but their lives won't be an easy one.
"Kay ...if you really feel it's what you want you just need to find a way to take it on and live with it, it's rare to find compatible souls that clicks simultaneously. And if it's him that you want to be with still after all these hardship and threats, and you being stripped off almost everything yet it still hasn't change your heart. Then, it says everything about what you feel. Don't spend so much time rationalising, things has its way to work it out . Those precious quality time is best use to just be with each other" A close friend of Kay gave his point of view one fine day after seeing Kay struggle through the entire episode ever since their route to celebrity became increasingly public.
"One second!!" Kay heard Yan Lan's voice as soon as he entered the place.
'Oh such a mess' he thought and his reflex was to just picked up everything and placed it back where it's supposed to be and his usual self just came back, fully focussed on just picking and rearranging back the things at the living room
"Yan Lan, hey you need to put the stuff back and the...." He was stopped by a warm hug that melted him
"That's why i need you..." Yan Lan as usual made the surprise presence.
Kay caught unprepared just fell right straight into Yan Lan's strength. "You..you scared me again" he turned and saw a gleaming face looking at him
'Gosh I miss this guy so much' he thought
"Same" Yan Lan responded to that out loud and gave him a smirked smile leaving Kay's eyes wide open.
"Telepathy remember?" Yan Lan teasing him.
While there was a casual smile on Yan Lan's face, those eyes were tired from his packed schedule which trigger Kay's immediate reaction touching Yan Lan's face unconsciously. Just painful looking at him. Seeing those eyes Kay wished it could be easier on them. He snapped out of it and removed his hand only to be pulled in for an embrace - one that Yan Lan needed so much. "It's been tiring..." he whispered.
"Mmmnn" Kay answered back. Those words that came from Yan Lan it somehow made Kay helpless, he stood there just feeling totally helpless "I'm sorry" He said
"Don't be. We are in this together" Yan Lan replied.
Yan Lan had arranged for dinner delivery as usual although Kay would prefer to always cook for them.
"These sushi and noodles are awesome!... we must order again from them"
Yan Lan smiled just staring at Kay, missing this little kid's character that spring out at the sight of his favourite food.
"Why are you looking at me?" Kay asked. "Is it too spicy?"
"No ... just love watching you this way"
That made Kay blushed looking away shyly "Don't start okay" he said
"Hahha there you go the smile that I've been waiting for" The satisfaction Yan Lan gets just from that smile alone was enough for him to dig into the the noodles and dinner smiling happily.
They washed up the dishes before kay was interrupted again by another call. When he came back he was surprised to see on the living table some photos Yan Lan had taken with the new hide out place. He had made into into a virtual album standing on the living room table.
"Wow... this is beautiful.." Kay captivated by it.
"Thought you might want to see it first - was taken during autumn then....I wanted to bring you there myself ..." Yan Lan said quietly
"It's beautiful, the sunset and the falling leaves ...a very familiar feeling, this place."
"Indeed I felt that that too, when I first came across this place, it just feels warm and homely especially with you in it." Yan Lan confessed softly as he look straight into Kay
"I've been waiting to meet you back then and seeing you on that hill the other day Kay, I just want us to be together" Yan Lan said as he moved forward to hold Kay's hand with them both seated on the sofa.
"I know what you are going to say Kay, we have our public appearances, our celebrity life that's different from our private life. Obligations that we had to do, staring in movies that we have to play our roles that may not fit into our private lives, our fans to manage but behind all these it's really just us" Yan Lan let his thoughts out
"I know Kay and these obligations and role that we have to play I know we are professional about it, just don't want it to be misconstrue" at that his phone rang again but before he could answer it Yan Lan moved in to give him a deep passionate kiss. Kay's phone continue to flicker as it rings. Yan Lan not wanting them to be interrupted continue with his kiss down Kay's neck until such that he hears a disturbing buzz from the phone again.
Kay picked up the phone again and saw the missed calls "I have to go..." He said in between the kisses and escape space of breath he could find. Yan Lan continue to feast on Kay's lips not letting him speak further.
"No...not tonight" Yan Lan said firmly. "It's our time and they know"
