CLEMENTINE'S POV
"The child that will be choosing where to go is..." She said as my heart raced, I looked over at Toxo who was sweating. What the hell? He seemed so nervous, like he was about to cry. I shook my head and looked back at my mom as she finished up and said, "Toxodorius. You will be choosing you and Clementine's adventure! Congratulations!" The whole crowd blew up with applause as I looked over at Toxo and let a smile slip.
"Congrats-" I said but paused as I saw his face was cherry red and he was shaking. Before I could ask if he was okay he walked over to the microphone in the front of the stage. He was about to say where we were going. I started doubting that we were going to the second kingdom from how he was acting. He grabbed onto the microphone and the whole pole shook from his hands shaking violently. I walked up next to him and I placed my hand on his shoulder, which was a first. This seemed to calm him down a lot and he stopped shaking. He opened his lips.
"Hiya everyone... Thank you for coming tonight... I-I'll just jump straight to the point so I don't waste everyone's time! I um have chosen to go to a place I've always wanted to go since I was very little. I've done my research and no one has gone here before for their Dekaexi thingy..." Some people in the crowd gasped at what he said and I looked at him confused. Every kingdom has been explored by a Morningstar child, is he that dumb.
"My sister and I are going to..." He let out a louder gulp. I have never seen Toxo this nervous before, even when he told dad he was gay, he wasn't even close to this level of nervousness. He clenched his hands on the microphone and said slowly, "We're going to... Earth."
The world stopped. Everything became silent. Not one noise could be heard. Not one. My father's footsteps finally broke the silence as he walked up to the other side of Toxo and gripped onto his other shoulder very tightly and I could hear him whisper, "What the fuck do you think you're doing, you're not going there you little shit." I could feel Toxo's nervous feelings fade as my father said this. His skin got more red and felt extremely warm, he sharply turned to my father and yelled.
"I WAS CHOSEN AND WE'RE GOING WHEREVER THE FUCK I SAY WE'RE GOING, WERE YOU CHOSEN? NO. I WAS. FUCK OFF." He screamed this pretty close to the microphone since him and my father were close to it so it erupted in the ballroom. Everyone let out gasps followed by low whispers. My father just stood up at his full height and looked down at Toxo, obviously intimidating him immediately. Toxo didn't let it show though, he just glared up at my father as my father said, "Earth is where the bad people are."
This caused Toxo to raise his voice again, "WHERE THE BAD PEOPLE ARE!? DAD, I'M BOUND TO MEET THOSE 'BAD PEOPLE' ANYWAYS. THIS IS WHERE BAD PEOPLE GO."
My father then tightened his grip on Toxo's shoulder and said after a long sigh, "FINE. But to ensure that you don't act stupid like usual-" My mother then shot him a glare which made his voice a little calmer, "You and clementine will take approximately ten months of lectures about earth. One of the demons that got sent to earth decades ago is a principal at an upper secondary school in Japan, you both will be attending there and living in Japan for a few months, got that?" Toxo and I both nodded, a little scared from the still remaining sternness of our father's voice. He responded with, "Good." He turned towards the silent crowd and said, "You may now continue with the ball." He turned away and walked back angrily to our mom and whispered stuff to her. I then turned to look at Toxo who was already smiling at me. I stood back a bit, surprised at him now being calm.
"Are you excited!?" He asked. It was obvious that he was way more excited then I am.
"Toxo... what the hell?" I said with a stern voice, I realized that my voice did kind of reflect how my father sounded. "I mean come on! We could have gone somewhere that really speaks you know... 'you'! Like the second kingdom, it's full of everyone else like you! A bunch of bitches." His eyes widened and looked down at me, this was the first time in my entire life that I felt intimidated by Toxo... the same guy that used to eat crayons until he was thirteen to "spice up" his bowel movements.
"Bitches? Hm? Where were YOU going to take us? Somewhere new? No, you weren't. I'm not the pathetic one in this situation." He looked down at me and smirked. Immediately after I saw the normal Toxo come out. He frowned and hugged onto which he then quickly let go because he knows I hate being touched. He said nervously, acting completely different then before, "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to say that!!!" I didn't care but I loved seeing him worry. He then placed his hands on both of my shoulders and smiled, I just kind of flinched as he said, "This will be fun for us, trust me! I mean, we're going to make friends, memories, and Hell history!!!" His positive and reassuring energy was disgusting.
I just slid his hands off my shoulder, nodding and saying, "Okay." That's all I had to say. I did not want to go to Earth. Why would anyone want to go there when you have Hell, the best place in my opinion and my opinion is the only correct opinion. He shot me with another smile and then turned towards the crowd that was dancing and chatting very loudly.
"You don't have to go with me. You can just pretend you're sick or something." He said to me very quietly so no one else would hear. He kept his eyes on the crowd, seeming to trace every step and memorize every word that the people of the crowd committed. He was right, I could chop off my hand the day before we went and then boom, I didn't have to go. But I know that Toxo would not survive without anyone he knew. We've both been raised with silver spoons in our mouths and have never had to experience a life outside of this castle. Thousands die in Hell from homicidal events alone, who knows if Earth is any different. I mean, every single person in Hell except for the royal family is from Earth. If all of these people acted dangerous on Earth too then Toxo would die on the spot, I don't mean to be rude but he's extremely weak and worthless when it comes to athleticism.
~~~~TIME SKIP~~~~
Hours later we left the empty ballroom. The floor was layered with dirt dragged in from the attendees. The workers were sweeping up and cleaning the ballroom. I was going to offer to help but that's not my job, my job is to... I don't know, probably something special.
I said goodbye to my family and locked myself in my room. I changed into more comfortable clothing and laid in my bed, staring at the stone ceiling that was 30 feet from my eyes. Tomorrow was the first day of our lessons, and I was everything but excited and prepared. My dad said that we were going to be on Earth for a few months... going to a school... with other people... disgusting. I had a slight feeling of hatred for Toxo because of his decision, why Earth of all places? I mean Heaven would be a lot worse but still. You're born in Hell and you should stay in Hell, period and end of sentence.
