Marseille, France, 18xx.
Silena Chaugnes. The first child of three from King Henry of Chaugnes and Queen Miranda. That day was the day when she turned 19 and her parents held a grand birthday party. Every nobles from all around Marseille are invited, including the royalty from the Kingdom of Poliveron. The invitation has been sent to everyone since the week before the party and today is the day of the event.
"Good morning, Your Highness. It's time to wake up!"
One of the maid opened the drape and the sunshine dazzled the young princess that's still laying on her bed. Silena woke up, rubbed her eyes and yawned before set one foot on the marble floor. Still half asleep, she walked to the bathroom and her maids have prepared a warm water on her golden bath tub for the royal princess to take a bath.
"Enjoy your bath, Your Highness."
"Light the rose scent candle for me and I'll be done in 15 minutes. When I'm done, I want some cookies, croissant and a hot chocolate on the table."
"As you wish, my lady."
All the maids left the room to prepare breakfast for Silena. She dipped her toes into the water before slowly get into the tub.
15 minutes passed and all the maids went back to Silena's room. The maids have prepared everything that the princess want to have for breakfast and one of the maid walked into the closet to take a yellow fancy dress then bring it to the bathroom. The maid helped her to wear the dress and when she's done, she walked back to her room and sat on the couch with her breakfast right in front of her. All of sudden while having breakfast, the door opened and the King and Queen alongside Silena's sisters rushed into the room and they showered her with kisses and hugs.
"Happy birthday, Silena! Because it's your special day, there won't be any lesson about being the queen. Just enjoy the rest of the day by doing anything you want and I want you to join the welcoming ceremony for our guest from Poliveron. They will be here by 3 p.m. and please wear a fancy dress that we've bought for you."
The king gave a signal and some servant brought in around 10 boxes of present. She knew that there'll be more boxes of present but these boxes came from her family. The king, queen and her sisters walked out from her room and Silena stood up to unwrap the presents.
"Perfumes, shoes, dresses, jewels. . . boring."
Silena unwrapped the last present and she took out a glamorous white dress that's so beautiful. She knew right away that it's the dress that she must wear for the welcoming ceremony. Her maids cleaned up the mess that she made and she spend the rest of the day walking around the castle and reading some boring books.
At last, it's time for the welcoming ceremony. The maids dressed Silena with the white dress and they styled her hair. She wore the tiara and once she's set, Silena stepped out from her room and walked to the great hall. When she walked into the great hall, everyone fixed their gaze on the princess. Silena sat near her parents and a lad that looks like the prince of Poliveron.
"Everyone, welcome to the Kingdom of Chaugnes, today is my daughter, Silena Chaugnes birthday party and also her engagement day."
Silena startled when she heard that today is her engagement day. She has no idea about the engagement stuff but all of sudden her father announced that it's her engagement day. Who is her fiancé?
"I've agreed with the King of Poliveron, King John, to marry our successor, Silena Chaugnes and Allen Poliveron. The day of the wedding will be one month from today and that will merge the two biggest kingdom in Marseille which will make us the Kingdom of Marseille. Now, Silena, can you take Allen for a walk?"
The lad that's sitting beside her suddenly stood up and offered her hand to her,
"My lady?"
Silena took his hand and walked outside the grand hall. She took him to the garden of the castle and sat at the edge of the fountain. She looked at the prince and he gave her a bright smile. Allen, the Prince of Poliveron, his hair is blonde just like the Silena, his iris is blue like the ocean and he looked perfect. She didn't say anything instead Silena asked him some questions,
"What should I call you?"
"Allen or maybe you want to call me darling?"
"Hm. Nope. Allen is fine. Do you know about this engagement before?"
"I do."
"And? You didn't say anything about this?"
"No."
"Why?"
"They show me your portrait and at that time I immediately fall in love with you. That's why I agree with this marriage and I agree to be your husband for eternity."
Silena went speechless and she didn't even try to say anything. This man, he's so direct with his words and she saw him picking a rose from the garden then gave it to Silena. A red rose, symbol of passion, true love, romance and desire. She accept the rose and the prince, Allen took his hand and gave a soft kiss on the back of her hand.
"A red rose for you, my lady."
"Thank you. Perhaps you want to go back and have some rest before the party tonight?"
"That's a good idea, I shall take you back to your room, Princess."
Silena stood up and walked side by side with Allen back to her room. The prince left once she's back in her room and Silena put the red rose on her table then rest her body on the bed. One of the maid approached her and asked whether she want a juice or anything but she shook her head and closed her eyes.
"Miss? It's time to wake up and get ready for the party."
The voice of the maid woke Silena up and she glanced at the clock that's located above the door. The time show 5 in the afternoon which is 1 hour to go for the birthday party. She jumped out of her bed and walked straight to the bathroom to take a bath. The maids prepared the fanciest dress that she'll wear for the party. They helped her wearing the dress, styled her hair and put the tiara on her head. When she's ready, Silena walked outside the room to the ballroom where the party is held and when she arrived, everyone's already there and there's a familiar face who greeted her right away. It's Allen.
"My lady, you look so pretty tonight."
Allen took her hand, gave a soft kiss at the back of her hand then held her hand tightly as he led her to the table where there's her huge birthday cake. While walking she heard the female nobles whispering about her and Allen but most of them talking about Allen. Silena sure that they talked about how handsome Allen is. They stood right in front of the birthday cake and it's time for her to blow the candle. She made a wish and blow out all the candles.
"Happy birthday, Silena!"
Everyone's cheering for her and then the king stood up from his throne,
"Good evening, everyone. Tonight is a very special night since it's my daughter's birthday and also her engagement day. My daughter, Silena Chaugnes is getting engaged to Allen Poliveron, Prince of Poliveron. Let's celebrate their engagement. Also, their wedding day will be held next month at the same date. Now, it's time for our grand ball. Everyone please pick your partner and enjoy the night!"
The king offered the queen for the first dance followed by their childrens. Allen, of course asked the princess for the dance. The music started to play,
"Silena, will you give me the honor for the first dance?"
"Yes."
Allen guide her to the dance floor and they started to dance wonderfully. Everyone's watching Silena and the handsome prince dancing on the dance floor until suddenly she felt like someone's watching them very carefully. Silena looked around and there's no one, maybe it's just her feeling but she's sure that someone's watching them.
