In what felt like months, two days finally passed, and as he had assured Lee, Vukan set himself to return home. The times they spoke on hone during his stay in the hospital, she sounded more than excited to have him and it set the tone in place for all he had at heart. Oliver still didn't particularly fall into line with Vukan not running away with him immediately, but he did promise to give Vukan some days to himself while he figured out all he needed to.
The cab finally ground to a halt to the sight of decorations hanging from the top of the front porch and with the words "WELCOME HOME" screaming right back at him in different colors. Lee obviously had gone over the top, and her excitement could be read not just from the words, but from the petals se laid across the porch steps.
"Crazy woman", he thought to himself before asking the cab driver to wait on him. "This shouldn't take long at all".
