After my second attempt, I had no problem brewing the simple potion. I almost wanted to throw away the potion making book. The author obviously knew nothing about temperature control or the basics of cooking!
This entire book was a sham. The only thing correct in it was the ingredients and how the final product would look. Everything else was wrong.
Brewing potions was just like cooking and your boy was a chef. It was the easiest thing in the world for me to make the Potion of Minor Endurance. I was just upset my tools were so archaic.
When I get better tools I will have an easier time brewing potions. I poured my finished potion into a large keg. I planned to sell this in bulk to the elven geezer. If he had a supply of White Cocoa beans then I could start flipping them daily.
I made my third batch and it went even better than my second. Now I had two large kegs of Potion of Minor Endurance to sell off. The brewing of potions didn't take long like I had expected.
I didn't stay up burning the midnight oil, quite the contrary. I decided to take a nap until morning. I would go visit the geezer in the morning before the caravan set off.
I woke up early the next morning feeling refreshed. I went to go check on Miya.
"How are you doing?" I asked as I came into her servant quarters.
"Much better, young master Daquan," said Miya.
"Great, you will be driving the carriage today as we head to the next kingdom. I am going to go sell off a potion I brewed to the traveling merchant," I said.
The kegs were pretty heavy. Luckily this was a magical world and I could shove them right into my storage bracelet. I put on my noble attire and prepared for another great performance in front of the elven geezer.
Before I could make it to the merchant tent I ran into Daquan's nemesis, Colton Sharpe!
"You are out and about?" asked Colton as he looked me up and down with a strange expression.
"Of course, how could a minor injury from a Pine Fox keep me bed ridden," I said sarcastically.
"Good, our group was missing your company. Next time we trek through a danger zone you should come along. Your identification skills are very valuable," said Colton with an evil grin on his face.
"I'll keep your invitation in mind," I said as I headed to the merchant tent paying him no further mind.
That Colton Sharp was sinister. Maybe old Daquan would be stupid enough to go adventure with him again but I knew better. Walking out to the forest with Colton Sharpe was like playing with a leopard and wondering why it ate your face.
Only a fool would do something so stupid. I quite valued being alive.
I came into the merchant shop and the old but youthful looking elven geezer was still manning the counter.
"How may I assist you today young noble?" asked the silver haired elven geezer.
"Yes, I would like to sell off two kegs of Potion of Minor Endurance," I said as I brought out the two kegs I had brewed.
"Let me inspect the goods," said the silver haired elven geezer as he took out a shot of the potion.
He sniffed it a bit then chugged it down. A bright smile dotted his face as fire came to his eyes. No doubt the potion had been very potent!
"Quality product, I can pay a premium for this!"
"Yes, I happen to have a servant who dabbles in potions. I wonder if you happen to sell White Coffea beans?" I asked.
I had to keep my entitled noble status high. It would make me look even grander if I said this potion came from one of my servants.
"I have a bit of that in stock," replied the silver haired elven geezer as he fumbled with his small golden chest.
"Give me 30 gold so I can reward my servant and pay me the rest in White Coffea beans," I said.
He gave me enough beans to make 5 batches and the 30 gold to boot! Was my product really that spectacular?
"This seems to be a bit much," I said as I recounted the beans.
"If you can keep this good product coming its enough to ensure your business," said the silver haired elven geezer as he smiled.
"I'll get my servant on it immediately," I said, gathering up the payment.
[Vault: 30 Gold, Hoard: 380 Gold]
I walked out of the merchant shop with a renewed pep in my step. I had found a way to make easy gold quickly. Nothing could damper my mood now. Even Colton Sharpe was a faded memory, once I got my Weak Green Dragon Bloodline he would no longer be a threat.
I got back to my carriage and sat up at the front with Miya. I had gotten a good rest last night so I wanted to experience the country side of this magical world. Everyone in the caravan was now preparing to move out. Within an hour all the tents in the middle of the caravan were packed up in preparation to leave.
One Mage took a position in the front and one took a position in the rear as everyone got in line. Traveling through the forest was dangerous so they had to be ready at any moment. Soon we embarked on our journey to the next Kingdom!
The ride was not peaceful. I could hear massive battles happening at the front of the caravan from time to time. No doubt, the Mage was clearing out anything that stood in our way.
The scenery was beautiful during our journey. All kinds of different plants and trees made for excellent sight seeing. I even saw a few that were worth quite a bit, but I dared not stop and try to collect them and risk getting left behind.
Unfortunately, the magical beasts were elusive. The weak ones stayed away, and the strong ones were killed before they would enter my line of sight.
By afternoon we had exited the forest and now were on a road to the next Kingdom. By evening we were coming to the gates of a massive city.
"We have made it to the Slivlia Kingdom capital, Helens City. We will be stopped here for 3 days until the caravan embarks to the next danger zone. Gather back here in 3 days and don't be late," a booming voice announced at the front of the caravan.
Since we were stopped at a capital city we were free to move about. Nobles would enjoy themselves inside the city instead of living in a tent. Everyone scattered like roaches after getting the okay, many headed off to what I assumed to be the red light district.
I myself planned to do none of the sort. I wanted to make as much money as possible while in the safety of this capital city, so I could get my Weak Green Dragon Bloodline.
Booking a night at a normal tavern would not cost more than a couple of gold pieces. I wasn't picky like most nobles, since I wasn't from this world. Anywhere with a warm bed would do.
It didn't take long for Miya and I to find a shabby tavern to rest at for the night. The sign was almost falling off the hinges when we parked out front. A perfect hole in the wall for me to call it a night!
