Chapter 3 - Chapter 2 - Holding 100,000 EXP...

Years pasts, making today my 12th birthday.

"Happy birthday, Sho!"

Both my parents shout happy birthday as I walk downstairs.

"Thanks!"

I smile at them. Today marks my twelfth birthday, meaning I can now access my skill tree.

During the past years, I read countless books on the system. I have a good standing on how this system works now.

First, the system is called your skill tree. Skill trees convert your EXP into physical attributes or power. Accessing the device requires you to get permission from your parents or wait until you are 12 years old.

The tree is all done mentally. A GUI interface will appear after saying the word "Skill Tree." You can master it and be able to open it without saying or thinking the name.

Next, people start with different amounts of EXP. Typically, people start with 500 EXP; however, those with potential or high evaluation starts with 1,000 EXP. During one's lifetime, they will usually get a total of 10,000 EXP.

That said, you get more EXP throughout your life. It's usually done passively; however, doing specific tasks or using your skills allows you to gain EXP faster. In history, a person has acquired a total of 20,000 EXP.

Last, during the start of life, parents get 250 EXP to pick skills they want your child to have; however, some parents only use about 50 EXP and leave the rest for the child to choose. They use the 50 EXP for necessary skills and level-ups. For instance, they'll increase the child's speed so that they can move faster.

Sadly, my parents did not do this to me. That should be normal; however, I'm so slow and weak from other children! One day my parents brought me to a park. I met someone there, but in the relation between us, I was compared to a sloth while he was a cheetah. I can't even run! I need to have at least level 3 in speed to run.

Today, I'm going to fix this! I'll never be slow again. Instead, I'll be the fastest and the strongest.

My dad walks up to me. "I think I explained this a while ago, but I'll tell you again. Now that your 12, you can access your skill tree and get skills you'll need for your future.

"You should already have some EXP, but in our family, we do something different. Our family line has a special skill called 'transfer.' Using it, we can transfer EXP to others. In our lineage, we passed down our EXP to the next generations.

"However, we have made a decision. I'm going to past down my EXP to you. You can do whatever you want with it. Your mother is going to pass it down to our next child, who we hope is a female. She will continue to pass down the tradition since it is usually past down to the youngest child."

"Oh, okay!"

I smile and nod to show my understanding.

"Really? Wow... It took me a while to understand this when I was a child. Anyways, even if you have this EXP, you're not invincible. You have to spend the points wisely to get invincible, but your smart, so you'll probably be fine."

I continue to smile at him. "Roger that!"

"Hah... Okay, here I go. [Transfer]!"

At that moment, I could feel my body take in something. Once he was done, something popped into my vision.

'Successful! You have acquired 99,000 EXP for a total of 100,000 EXP.'

Huh, 100,000? Oh, so I was one who started with 1,000 EXP. This is amazing!

"Oof... That took it out of me. Anyway, now that you have the EXP, you can do anything you want. Now that said, we are entering you into the Imperial Academy, which is the best magical / skill school in this kingdom. Here a book on the transfer process. You'll have to past this test to get in, but I know you can do it."

He smiles at me and gives me a thick book. The title reads, "Roji's Magic Academy Transfering Test."

"Don't worry, dad! No matter what, I'll make it into this school!"

"Heh! That's what I like to hear."

"But dear..."

Mom finally interjects.

"You know the test is in two months from now. Are you sure Sho can learn the process and train in two months? I mean, others usually have at least 8 months to practice..."

"Don't worry! I believe in our son. Sho! You have two months. Make us proud!"

...

Only two months? That's a bit long, isn't it? Do they believe in me? Oh well, guess that's part of the fun.

"Alright! I'll take on this challenge!"

"That's my boy! Good luck!"

Alright! Today marks the start of my training. No matter what happens, I must enter that academy.

...

A couple of hours have passed. I have been using that time to read the book that my dad gave me.

The book states the rules of the test and what you'll be tested over. The first test is a written test with 50 questions. The questions are based on essential knowledge and elemental magic.

Parents should have taught magic while you were ten or so; however, I was never taught. Hopefully, the magic is like that in games, or I'll be in a pickle. Once I unlock the skill, I should get the gist of it pretty fast.

Next is the physical test. It consists of an endurance test, a strength test, and dodging test. After that, is the magic/skill test. In this test, you'll use your most potent magic spell on a plastic dummy. Next, you use your strongest skill (If it's not range, that is okay). After those, you'll show your how much mana you can hold.

Lastly, you take part in a simulated battle with the other contenders or with a student from the school. After this, you'll get your score and if you passed or not.

Sounds easy... Well, kind of.

The rules are basic rules. It says don't cheat, and stuff like that. One rule did catch my eye, though. It states that those who wish to be in S class must show an extraordinary amount of skills and power. Those with high strength can still not make it to S class. Wisdom is also considered.

Hmm... Well, I don't really care about that class. I just need to make it in. Now, Let's start the real fun...
