"He hurt me, he really did. I don't deserve this but is it really me finally paying the price for what I've done in the past ?"
She opened her eyes, squinting them as they came in contact with sunlight. She turned to the other side to find Alexander gone.
She got up and went to the bathroom to wash her face. She headed to the living room but as she heard a familiar voice she stopped. She hid behind a corner and heard the conversation going on.
"Why'd you do that ? That's just heartless, Sebastian. You knew that's her weak point and used it for selfish interests."
"Even if I did! What's your business in all of this Alex !?" His pitch got louder.
"Sebastian, what's gotten into you ? That's just you being stubborn "
She heard Sebastian growl before heading the shattering of glass. She gasped lightly, trying not to draw any attention.
"That woman, that woman, Alex, she is driving me crazy ! Those eyes, oh lord, that overconfidence she has in herself makes me angry and I feel like-"
"You have to break me to feel whole " June stepped out looking what she knew surely wasn't her best. She watched as Sebastian's eyes grew wide and Alex throwing a look of 'Why'd you do that, June ' .
"What the hell is she doing here looking like this ?" He scanned June for what she thought love bites or marks.
Oh lord, have mercy on me...he thought as he saw her body into one of the masculine T-shirts .
Alex couldn't respond because he was thinking of what Sebastian just said. He may've become an obstacle in the way of his plan. He had to do something and fast.
"I can't believe what you did to me, Sebastian. You took away everything from me, what do you still want ?"
Sebastian couldn't discus any of this in front of Alexander so he just picked his jacket and left the house.
She turned to him, "You knew about this ?" . This was the hardest thing to come out of her mouth that day. She felt betrayed by everyone. When she'd talk about what Sebastian would go to her he'd act like he doesn't know but now it looks clear to her that he knows very well what his friend was doing all along.
"No, June " he said avoiding any eye contact.
A tear rolled down her cheek, "lie to me again, Alex, one more time and I-"
"No, no, June-" he came closer trying to take her into his arms.
"Don't you dare touch me!" . At the moment, she didn't want anyone to touch her. Nobody to talk to her. Just herself. Alone. She felt like she was going to collapse, she was afraid, for the second time in her life . She couldn't trust anyone not even herself .
None of those of who she thought would stay stayed.
He raised his hands in the air so she can feel safe but she went to the room back hurriedly and took all of her belongings and fled out of the apartment .
"June, don't, at least let me drive you home "
She stopped a cab and decided to go finally go home..her home.
She groaned lightly, as she poured another glass of aged wine. New York was being dipped into the night sky and slowly the city wore it's glamorous night dress embellished with jewels on the top of the skyscrapers.
Another week...
She gulped half of it and laughed lightly as she felt her head turn light. She hiccuped as tears rolled down her cheeks.
Her phone rang interrupting her pity party, she crawled to the other side of the couch and picked it up.
"Mommy?" She answered reluctantly.
"June?" A familiar voice responded but she was too drunk to realize whom it was.
"You're out of your g-grave early this year ?"
"Hello? June Demoura ?"
"More like June Mamora " she said laughing hysterically over her joke. She covered her mouth in an attempt to stop the little giggles. "One second" . She drank what was left of the glass and returned back to the phone." Yeah mommy, what we-were you say-saying ? "
"Are you drunk, June ? Where are you "
"I don't know, yo-you tell me "
The other person on the line hung up and left June alone on the line. "Mommies these days, so rude " . She scrunched her nose as she refilled the glass again and crossed her legs over the coffee table.
The bell rang continuously but she couldn't move. Her head and legs hurt. She couldn't breathe and felt a mounting pain over her ribs. It was working.
She moaned as she got up to open the door. Her eyes felt like a heavy weight over her body. She smiled lightly as she saw him, "did your conscience finally speak ?" and with that she felt herself let go
