"Your ship's outside now." A guard entered the room, notifying us. We grab the intel filled bags on our way out.
I was expecting a whole lot more action since we did get someone that looks high ranking, wonder if the drones are the last attack they'll do.
We exited the building, the ship landed near to the gate, it's ramp descending downwards. Accompanied by 3 guards, the man we took hostage was being pushed to the ramp. It was already morning with the crack of the orange sun of dawn shining in front of us.
Now fully descended, a man walked down the ramp, the strategist.
"Sebastian, the mission is done now, get your team onboard. Were heading back."
The man was shoved onto the ship by the guards while we walked inside the ship, with his arms tied behind his back.
As we all boarded the ship, the ramp began ascending upwards. Shutting out the cold, before fully closing i take one more look at the building, still shredded with guards looking around assessing it.
"Bags worth of intel, excellent work Sebastian, your team will get their extra payment for the troubles, about 2 million extra on the 6 million reward." The strategist bluntly announced to us.
2 million extra? Just for some intel? damn.
"Just hand the bags to them." Behind him were 5 people walking towards us then stopping.
We handed our bags to them, without speaking a word they all went to the front, holding the bags in their hands.
The team and I sat in the vacant seats, I placed my weapons next to me, strapped on as well.
2 Other people escorted the man passed us, moving to the front as well. Where are they gonna put him?
The ship takes flight from the snow, gaining speed as it continued flying in the sky.
Here i am once again, done with our mission and leaving the frosty cold of this place.
I take off my helmet, taking deep breaths of fresh air.
Hope the cafeteria is giving hot coco, their hot coco is quite sweet and good.
And what will i do with the money? Buy more guns? Perhaps i could go on another shopping spree, so this is the reward mercenaries get. It's very risky yes but the rewards are just good.
We stayed silent, strapped on and resting or doing other things.
I suppose i could examine my weapons.
Putting it on safe i examined my main rifle, brushing off the dirt or snow stuck onto it.
I exhausted most to all my ammo in the fight. Only have my pistol and long range rifle with bullets left in em.
Even if it's a hard hitter it had a hard time taking down those drones, they must have tough armor to beat. About 10 rounds just to take out one, odd though, after the battle there weren't any residue from the crashed drones, they just blew up and left no evidence other than a black mark on the ground.
