All quiet in the ship, don't know how long the trip has been but it felt like a few hours.
The ship rocked to one side, caught off guard i accidentally dropped my rifle, i grabbed it in time as the ship continued rocking to both sides.
I put back on my helmet, what's happening?
"What's happening-"
Before Thalia could finish, a loud explosion from the ship rocked us even further, sudden strong cold winds rushed in as the ramp behind us had a large hole torn into it, shrapnel flying around as we continued in flight. Explosions continued as each one knocked our ship side to side.
"We'll try to land safely!" The strategist's voice yelled from a speaker here.
The ship began a descent downwards as things began flying upwards to the ramp's hole, flying out, my weapons still stayed strapped on.
"HOLD ON!" Sebastian yelled. I gripped my seat tightly as the descent felt faster and faster.
The lights of the ship flickered with more bits and pieces of this ship being sucked out.
A strong force slammed me down onto my seat hard, the ship crashed to the ground, but the ship continued moving forward, the ship violently vibrated as it grinded on the ground, until it gradually came to a halt.
"These seats must have the strongest straps to resist that! Even my weapons stayed on." Mary exclaimed through the comms.
Looking at the cockpit door, someone was trying to get out as the door became damaged.
I unbuckled myself from the straps, the rest of my team got off their seats as well, Lennox and Marcel helped in trying to open the damaged door.
After prying for a while, they managed to pull open the metal door.
The strategist, along with the ship's team got out, some injured.
"Something fired at us, luckily we brought ammunition for your team just in case. We got intel and a hostage after all." He continued.
Another person walked out the door, carrying a duffle bag, dropping it in front of us. He unzipped the bag, revealing magazines inside.
Are we gonna have another fight in the snow again? Good thing we got ammo though.
We grabbed magazines for our weapons, inserting it into whatever empty pockets we have.
Soon, i was all ready for another fight.
"Shots came from the ground, whatever did though is heading here, Sebastian, one more time in this mission, can you and your team defend the ship for now? We can attempt repairs on the engines and see what to do with that ramp. Position yourselves outside and prepare." The strategist ordered.
"Yes sir." Sebastian acknowledged.
One more fight now, one more.
Outside, the snow now blinded us, snowstorm? Couldn't see anything that's farther away. Anything beyond was obscured or greyed out or just under the cover of this snow storm.
I look at the engines on the side of the ship, the engine was mangled, with a small with pieces still falling off of it. We were stranded in open field, our view being limited to just seeing things a few meters away from us.
"Lennox, Mary, guard the front, lay low, maybe dig in the snow. Alina, Marcel, Thalia, guard the right side of the ship, dig in as well. Luna, Nora, Damon, guard the opposite side. Stephen, you're with me, were guarding the back. Alright, let's position ourselves now." Sebastian ordered us. We split up, heading to our positions.
With Luna and Nora, we began digging through the snow, making shallow holes for us to go prone in.
Scooping up snow repeatedly, i made my own shallow hole, i lie down stomach down in the hole. My rifle aimed at the front. Nora and Luna as well waited, waited with their weapons aimed to the front while prone in their holes.
The snow began piling on top of our backs, more camouflage i suppose, minutes went by but nothing showed up.
"I see something in the distance here." Stephen said on the comms.
"Alot of smaller figures." He continued.
"I see some on this side as well." Nora added.
Looking through my scope, through the snow i can make out small darkened figures moving through the snow.
"See some on my side as well." Marcel quickly joined in.
"Here as well." Lennox added.
Were surrounded then, surrounded on all sides.
"Open fire now?" Alina asked.
"Hold....Stephen see what it is now?" Sebastian replied.
"Drones, it's the same as those ones before." Stephen replied.
"Everyone open fire!"
After speaking, we all began opening fire. I aimed at the greyed silhouettes, pulling the trigger over and over, reloading a few times. Some of the figures disappeared while we fired, as the figures start disappearing, the sound of explosions became more and more numerous.
"Keep firing, they're still far from us anyway." Sebastian said, gunshots going on while he spoke.
Next to me were a small pile of magazines as we continued firing at em. Until, whatever was left of the drone group reached the ship, as they reached visibility, they didn't open fire at us. The drones flew past us, not firing. Quickly they rammed directly into the ship.
As they rammed into the ship, they blew up, this time the explosion was bigger than before. Chunks of metal flew into the air or to the ground.
"WHAT WAS THAT!" Sebastian frightened, questioned.
"I don't think they're here to shoot us, they want to destroy the ship itself." Luna replied.
The wave stopped, the last of the drones rammed into the ship, exposing it's inner parts.
"Team, is anyone low on ammo yet?" Sebastian asked us. A brief silence followed.
"I'll take that as a no, Strategist said he called in a smaller aircraft to pick us up along with our intel, a faster one so it'll be here in about 3 hours tops." Sebastian notified us.
So were stuck here for 3 hours huh.
"Stay sharp, keep your weapons aimed straight ahead, a second attack can come at any time."
