Hearing the excitement in Count Morholt's voice, Evlan could sense that the restraints on his urges had vanished.
It was the first time that Evlan could breathe the air of freedom. It was revitalizing, like the freshest of the muren dew after an entire nasha of rain. The stiffness on his countenance soon broke down. Then, a look of untainted enthusiasm took its place.
Count Morholt, who had been observing every single change on Evlan's expression, couldn't help but be delighted. An opponent who could go against him was better than a cowering one. There was a whole world of difference between the two. The former was worthwhile while the latter was a waste of the Count's valuable time.
"Your present vigour is a cut above what you had earlier. It's good to know that you're willing to indulge me with your strength." Count Morholt said, amusement brimming in his voice.
