It took Evlan a few seconds to process what had just happened. His gaze didn't fall on his hurt younger brother but on the blanket of dust separating him from the Crown Prince. Without letting a single word escape his mouth, he waited for every element in the surroundings to settle down.
No longer than a quarter of a minute, Evlan's eyes finally met the Crown Prince's. Of course, he wanted answers despite knowing the reasoning behind the Crown Prince's actions.
The silence was barred by Ivanov's ceaseless groaning. An attack as such shouldn't inflict that much damage on him, but he felt otherwise. It was as if his body would break down any second. If he lost focus for even a split of a moment, he would open his eyes to the world of the dead.
"Your Majesty, your action wasn't warranted. Ivanov knows how to listen." Evlan said as soon as the Crown Prince's attention was on him.
