The Elven guardian of the flowers wasn't one who had the tendency to lie. Though most redeeming of all their propensities was the fact that their voices had a calming effect on other creatures. Barachiel wanted to bet on that ability for a more peaceful discourse, or rather, escape the burden of bearing Mikhail's tirade.
