Reigner's goal was to be strong enough so no one would bother him and his family.
He was roaming through the continents and dungeons in search of power and useful resources, but after fighting with Ho Firme and his boosted flames by the dungeon's powers, Reigner began thinking about his own origins.
There was blessing of medusa within his body.
It didn't change him at all. He was still human, but already an enemy of the dungeon. The only reason for that could be medusa and she was someone who blessed him with strong power. Even Nightmare's powers blended with the Dream Of Medusa set.
However, Reigner realized that by following her blessing he wouldn't become strong enough to oppose her.
There was no reason for Reigner to oppose The Queen, but after his initial experiences in another world, then Nightmare's life assimilated with him, Reigner wouldn't be able to sleep soundly with Medusa being so connected with him power-wise.
