"Beepbeep beepbeep beepbeep" - high pitched continuous noise is currently ringing in an old apartment building. Smoke is visible from afar then coming closer would let you see fire blazing from the side. People are carelessly coming out carrying whatever they can possibly save. There appears to be no fire trucks yet as this place is near the slums on a long, congested, and very narrow road.
A panicking mother tried to barge in but her feeble body can't overcome the smoke and tide of people trying to get out. She screams and keeps asking for help to get her children out but people seem deaf to her outcry.
[Woman: Somebody please help my children! Somebody please help my children! Somebody, please, please...]
Then a faint of light appears to have shone when somebody asked her, "Where are your children, which room are they at?" The woman found herself seeing a gentle looking medium built man.
[Woman: They're at room 502. They're twins, a boy and a girl and are 5 yrs old. Please help my children!]
The woman felt kind of relieved upon hearing the words, "I will". She's left looking at the back of what appears to be a dependable man.
Martin went up as fast as he can to the 5th floor. Luckily the stairs are still accessible but the smoke, although not that bad yet, is kind of suffocating and is kinda blocking his eyesight but he did not stop until he reached the room he's looking for. He can faintly hear the cry of the children inside and tries to open the door but it appears to be jammed and the windows, although made of glass, have big solid metal bar rails so he can't go in there either. He breaks the glass window and shouts outloud, "Move away if you're close to the door as I will kick to force open it", then he moves over to the door.
He makes his stance and places all his might on his leg and kicked the door open. Bang! He heads inside and finds the kids tucked under the dining table.
[Martin: Good thing the fire hasn't reached this room yet. Wait for a moment and I will get both of you out.]
Martin looks for enough towels for the 3 of them, then makes them wet. He straps each of them with towels covering their noses and mouth. He carries the children and makes their way out whilst hearing other cries for help. He decides to come back and help the others as possible as he can.
The woman is so thankful and crying with happiness upon seeing her children safe. Martin moves back to the apartment and is able to help an older couple, weak couple, 3 other children, and a disabled person. He is exhausted at that point and is ready to rest but he hears another clear cry for help. He's about to stop as about a third of the building is already burned, but in the end, he still decided to go back as the sound does not appear to be too far away. He also found enough rope that he can use if required.
[Old couple: Stop, young man. It's more dangerous now to head out there.]
[Martin: I can still hear somebody crying for help. This will be last one.]
[Old couple: We don't hear anybody at all. Don't go there anymore.]
[Martin: I can still the cry for help up to now. I have to go.]
[[Martin's thoughts: I don't have anybody to care for in this world anyway, might as well help, as that person may have somebody waiting for him or her.]]
The old couple kept on trying to persuade him to not continue but they were left with only the man's silhouette moving back to the building.
Martin follows the sound of cry for help but he finds himself heavily surrounded by fire instead.
[Martin: WTH! I'm sure it's not this bad when I came in. I can't find an exit anymore. Damn! Seems my life would end here. Well, I did not intend to live long on this shitty earth anyway. Even as an orphan, I tried to build good karma in all my short life but this is what I get huh. Karma is b****.]
Then he just felt something hit the back of his head and got knocked out...
