Chapter 2 - He will never be my brother.

"Hello? Mom? — What? Wait, calm down! I'll be right there!" he said not so worried.

"What happened?"

"My brother is in a hospital. Let's go!"

What Adam doesn't know yet is that his brother is in hospital for the same reason, but I think he will figure it out soon.

"Mother! What are you doing in the hallway? Why aren't you with Jack?"

"I just got out to see if you arrived. Hello Dean, how are you?"

"Good afternoon Mrs. Revil! I'm not doing very well after what I heard."

"Don't worry! I just talked to the doctor and he said Jack will be fine. Besides, you have to enjoy your birthday, don't you think?"

"Friends are more important than my birthday! Anyways, can you tell us what happened?"

"I talked to him... he told me that he was trying to reach a box by climbing the furniture, but fell unconscious in the process."

"What do you mean!? He climbed the furniture? Is he stupid or what? He could've use a chair if he really had to get something!"

"Why do you yell at me? Go talk to him yourself if you're so angry! You're the only one that can scold him anyway."

Adam took a moment to think about the situation.

"Dean, you go in! I'm going home!"

"What do you mean by 'I'm going home'?"

"Didn't the doctor said that he'll be fine? I'll talk to him when he is discharged. Ah, if you worry about the present, I let it at your house!"

He got out from the hospital in a hurry, at this point I don't even blame him anymore. Adam must hate hospitals, after all, he spent most of his childhood on the corridors, waiting for the doctors to say the same thing:

"He'll be fine!"

Adam tried to keep calm whenever he heard that phrase but, one day, he got tired of listening the same thing over and over again.

"Well... if he'll be fine no matter what happens to him, then why are we still bothering to take him to the hospital? Something happens to him every twice a month and everyone says the same thing: 'his immunity sistem is weak, that's why' and 'he'll be fine'!

If even the doctors can't give us answers, then we should take Jack to a psychologist or a hypnotist at least."

Of course! Who will listen to a 12 years old boy? In fact, that was the moment when everyone began to think that Adam may or may not like his brother that much. What he said wasn't wrong, but the way he said it wasn't the most pleasant one.

Soon after that incident, his family hired a doctor that can give Jack special care and observation but, unfortunately, the doctor had to move with his wife in another country just a few weeks before the actual event.

Multiple thoughts crossed Adam's mind, all of them were similar but different at the same time.

He got home and he knew exactly where to go and what to search for.

"One-two-three — I knew it! Nine, their nine now!"

He read the last letter and couldn't belive what he just saw. Adam knew that something was going on from the day he discovered that box.

"I'm happy that your game ended but—"

He was lost in his own thoughts for hours.

"This was like a chess game for you huh?! But making Jack a pawn, your pawn, was the worse decision you could've ever made!"

Adam was conflicted. He knew that things would get complicated from now on.

"So you're making me choose between my friends(?)"

He took the box to his room, hoping that Jack won't look for it.

"I bet things could've been more complicated if you would have achieved your goals. I don't care which side were you on, but these—these won't reach the day light ever again.

Don't worry! Of coure I will help Dean, but with hints! Not telling him the whole scenario, stupid witch! Do you hear me!?

All I have to do is to make Dean get in touch with -him- right? Although I don't think it's a good idea, Dean will do the same thing for Jack.

Let me see... I think I saw it in the second one...

Ember! That's it! That should work! Thank you for those information but that's the only thing I need...

Rest in peace and don't bother us ever again!"

Adam told Dean his plan, without mentioning the 'nine letters' or even Jake.

Of course, Dean's reaction is well known by this point.
