A woman dressed in an expensive-looking black dress was sitting behind a large working desk, photographs of Kris and Lan scattered on the big black desk. The room was dimly lit, and a slender figure was standing in front of the desk with his head hung low, with respect.
"So, did you find what kind of a relationship Lan has with that son of a bitch?"
The woman spoke in an angry tone. The figure slightly shuddered, feeling the temperature of the room falling down a few degrees.
"After watching the CCTV footage of the conference room in 'Wang Enterprises', it seemed like they are mates, Madam."
The man replied with respect.
"What else happened, other than them recognizing that they are each other's mates?"
The woman questioned again in a stern voice.
"They.....they.....um....."
The man stammered.
"What did they do?"
The woman shouted in a high pitch, resulting in the man in front of her to cringe.
"It seemed like they performed a blood ritual and made a blood pack."
The woman slammed her hand on to the desk with a loud 'thud', causing the desk to crack with the impact.
"I knew it. I knew that son of a bitch was up to no good. That is why I ordered those rouges to go and hunt him. Care to explain why that trash attacked Lan instead of their actual target?"
The woman questioned the man in front of her, anger emitting out of her eyes in waves. The man gulped and answered,
"It seemed like they were not the rouges we paid for. They were underlings of Wang Yang."
The woman let out a heavy sigh and said,
"Looks like I need to have a long talk with that half-blood. He is making me regret letting him live. How is Lan now?"
The woman's tone turned gentle as she spoke of Lan.
"Young Master seemed quite healthy this morning, with Young Master Kris. Madam, may I have the permission to speak?"
The woman did not say anything, but the surprise was clearly written on her face. Then she nodded signaling the man that he could speak, she knew that Li Min did not speak to her unless it was especially important.
"It seemed to me that the medicine Young Master Kris used to heel Young Master Lan was actually his blood. The branch the shaman had given him was just medicine to help Young Master Lan recover his strength, it even dissolves in boiling water."
Li Min spoke in a serious tone, making the woman in front of him gasp in surprise.
"So do you mean that fanger has inherited his mother's powers?"
The woman asked with a smile, but that smile evidently had a hidden meaning.
"It seems that way, Madam."
Li Min replied, bowing his head.
"Oh dear Emily, even if you left the world, you still left behind a weapon for me to use against you. How thoughtful of you."
The woman said and laughed evilly, her laugh resounding in the big luxurious room. Li Min remained still, with his head still bowed as if this was a normal scene to him.
Two weeks later.....
3rd Person
Two weeks had gone by after the attack, Kris and Lan were living in heaven on earth. After Ming had agreed to move into Kris's house, Lan and Ming had moved on the same night. Kris and Lan shared a room while Ming occupied the guest bedroom. Kris had arranged a party to welcome Lan and Ming to his house and also invited Tyler and Wei to it, as they could get to know each other.
After getting to know about Kris finding his mate, Tyler was furious about not informing him at first. But deep down he was really happy that his best friend found a person to take care of him, instead of facing everything alone. Kris had always been someone to keep all the pain to himself and smile not showing the pain inside him to anyone. So Tyler was happy that Kris had finally found someone to confide in.
At that party, Kris had informed Tyler, Wei, and Ming about the attack. After a long discussion, all of them agreed to keep that matter away for a while as there was actually no problem currently, but Tyler had said that he will take a look at the CCTV footage of the area and try to recognize the attackers. Well, it was a dead-end and things were calm for now.
Kris and Lan's living together was filled with love and lovemaking. Lan had accepted to buy all the properties he needed to buy from 'Mackwood Properties', so Lan and Kris spent most of their working hours together discussing business matters. And after the working hours were over, they were immediately at home to have a round of lovemaking before dinner. As they lived together Kris was in charge of breakfast, Lan had to buy all three of them lunch, while Ming had to take care of the dinner. And after dinner, Kris and Lan would have another few rounds of lovemaking till dawn. They were not quiet during that time, so after receiving constant complaints from Ming about their screams, they finally decided to make their room soundproof. After Kris and Lan took that decision so that Ming could get a good sleep every night because before that he used to wake up every morning with large bags under his eyes.
Kris and Lan had gone on dates for the past two weeks with Tyler and Wei and also alone. When they went alone, they would also tag Ming along with them, but most of the time Ming said 'no' as he could not stand to see their lovely dovely acts, he was having enough seeing them at home. Apart from the working hours, during other times they were inseparable. Kris was incredibly happy, as his baby was growing without any problems.
There was a surprise though, as the time came for the baby's heart to start beating he heard two hearts beating in sync. Yes, Kris was pregnant with twins. He was looking forward to tomorrow evening as it will be the beginning of the third week since their lovemaking, he had promised himself that he will share this good news with Lan at the beginning of the third week of his pregnancy. He was afraid that Lan will find out before he told Lan, as he was becoming chubby and his tummy was visibly big now, as there were two babies inside him instead of one.
There were some complications in vampire pregnancy. If we apply it to Kris and Lan's situation it will be like this. The bond between the vampire babies and their parents is quite strong. The more powerful the parents are, the stronger that parental bond is. The babies only feed on Kris's blood, and Kris could only feed on Lan's blood during his pregnancy period. If Kris feeds on someone else's blood it will be poisonous to the babies. There was also something particularly important, it was the emotional state of Kris. The babies will only grow healthily if Kris was emotionally stable, if he is somehow sad or in pain the babies will eventually die. The babies inherit both their parent's abilities, the more powerful the babies are, the harder it is for Kris to bear them. The only way to make Kris bear with the pain was to stay near Lan, feeling his warmth. But if Kris was to get away from Lan, even if he is emotionally stable he will have to drain his strength to make the babies feel both his and Lan's warmth, and this will eventually lead Kris to his death after the babies are born.
Kris was obviously in double trouble with his condition, but as Lan was making him feel loved he became numb to the pain. Lan was on the other hand was over the moon. He had everything he had ever wished for, a beautiful mate who filled his whole life with happiness. Lan was extra cheerful these days. Even his co-workers could see the difference of their boss, ever since he signed the agreement with 'Mackwood Properties'. They thought it was due to the big profit they got from the deal, but only Ming among them knew the exact reason. Lan was always looking forward till the office work ended, to get home. Ever since he made love to Kris, he had started to feel a strong pull towards his angel. He thought it was because they had completed the mating bond after sleeping together but little did he know that it was because of the smaller versions of him who resided in Kris's womb.

"Is everything ready?"
The woman in the black dress asked Li Min, who was standing in front of her. Then she added,
"Are you sure that the fanger will go to that restaurant tomorrow?"
"Yes Madam, I have kept tabs on Young Master Kris's mobile phone, and he made a reservation in that restaurant tomorrow."
Li Min answered. Worry flashed across the woman's face as she asked,
"Are you sure that by using vervain, we will be able to make them both unconscious?"
Li Min answered confidently like he was assuring someone that the sun will always rise from the east.
"Both the Young Masters have a vampire side in them, so it will be effective."
"Well if you are so confident, I'm sure it will work that way. Have you manipulated that shamans' memory so he would willingly perform the ritual?"
The woman asked again as she did not want to waste this chance of getting rid of that son of a bitch, Kris Mackwood.
"Yes Madam, I manipulated it for him to believe that his family was killed by Young Master Kris."
Li Min answered, but he knew that the shaman had already known about their plan beforehand as he could see the future. 'If so why did he willing surrender to us', this question was haunting in Li Min's mind ever since that old man was bought to the dungeon. But he did not dare to word his doubt. His Madam was confident in him and he did not want it to break because of his worthless doubt.
"Well, then tomorrow will be his last day seeing the sun then. Spend your day well Kris, you will not get another day, at least not with your lover."
The woman said and laughed out evilly just like the last time.
On the other side of the town, Kris was going through pacifiers in a baby store, without any idea that his beautiful world will crash down the next day.
