"Leave him alone," Kinga asked. "Can't you see that he brought a pile of papers with him? They probably threw him with work and it was at such a time of a year!"
The period was actually not the best one to work. People were between one holiday and another. In total, this week of sensible work was only three days, because on New Year's Eve everyone finished earlier and did not put much effort into work, so this year the ratio of non-working days to working days around Christmas was actually not conducive to concentration.
