Chapter 1 - 1

Walking the halls of an abandoned meeting house, I assume it's one anyways, in "New England" later to be America. I sighed as I didn't exactly know how I got here, I only knew that I had my phone, a camping bag, and a map. I haven't touched my phone yet, even when it started to ring after I found a stained glass window showing the moon outside. Taking a seat in the window sill I pulled my phone from the pouch pocket on the front of my work hoodie. My phone looked the same as always, but I knew it was different.

All due to the screen showing a picture of a wispy skull screaming with the bold words "Undying Stream" and the only thing below it being a forceful option.

[Become a Streamer? YES/YES?]

This reminded me of a similar situation in a book I once read called "Streamer Across the Multiverse." So I can only assume my situation is the same as Devas. So I didn't dwell on the nonsense of logic, I barely followed it and was a sociopath with how I was wired. Affectionate to those I liked, but ultimately so I couldn't care less about myself much less others unless they got through to me, as I really didn't feel much of anything besides anger and depression. Clicking yes, the screen changed to a mail symbol that I pressed as well because I am curious about how similar things are to Devas. A holographic image, with lettering and flashing items at the bottom, popping out from my phone's front camera.

[Welcome the Multiverse Stream!

Due to the success of another Streamer, a second Streamer was picked at random from Origin. Due to analyzing and understanding the stress of suddenly being taken from home, similar to Streamer Calamity. To compensate you for any undue stress or injuries you have been given 2000 SP, clothes, Ageless, Spiritual POV Camera, rations, and ID to avoid complications with starting out. Aside from the Voidbag, as dubbed by Streamer of Calamity, and the universal map which were given to you upon arrival into your designated universe. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden x Highschool of The Dead.

The Stream Shop has also had prices adjusted slightly until you reach 10 followers. Invitations have been adjusted to 4 invites for followers to use. Starting equipment is indestructible and infinite, able to upgrade starting equipment through Stream Shop. The upgrade costs for equipment include branching upgrade paths.

Starting Items: Introduction to Streaming, Bane Rings, Banisher tattoos, Banisher Musket, Banisher Torch, Banisher Sword, Demonologists Rituals, Banisher Rituals Guide, Banisher Ghost Classifications, Herbology and Catalyst Guide for Rituals]

Clicking the tattoos first after rolling up my sleeves with curiosity about the process. I watched as black tattoos with Pagan Symbols, and Norse Runes covered most of my arms and certain fingers. Interesting… Do these do anything specific? I guess I'll find out later on, clicking the rings next I watched as six rings materialized. Six rings with different runes from Japanese and Norse origin materialized on my fingers that were tattooed. Flexing my fingers when I felt something course through my body, I soon felt something shift in my mind. Odd yet pleasant, the world before my eyes briefly shifted to a weird glow with dark blue green web like strands

Collecting the rest of my equipment, I noticed each piece had runes from one religion or another carved or engraved into them. All likely pertaining to spiritual concepts given my universe has "Ghosts" if the name wasn't clear enough. The musket though was interesting to me as it had nothing else to it, but test firing revealed that I just had to hit the stock on just about anything and it'd be reloaded. The introduction book was just vague as shit, and the ritual books had a lot of information I couldn't use right away. The guide for herbs and catalyst I would need for Rituals though was even more comprehensive than the other three books I had. While the one on Ghosts was pretty straight forward with even illustrations of the different seen ghosts.

Deciding to just turn on the stream and see where it goes, I started making my way out of the building I found myself in. Stepping outside I just glared at the fuckers instantly attacking me, my foot was barely outside the fuckin door you heathens! Drawing my musket as I knew how to shoot mostly, I quickly fired at the nearest ghost. A green one that I vaguely saw something about it being able to shoot me in my book. Spinning my musket and slamming the stock into a Bonewalker as that specific possessed caught my eyes from the book. The walking skeleton with flesh still on it stumbles back, rusting axe in hand still swinging at me. Stepping back, musket spinning I shot a fast moving bluish purple ghost in the head. Just like the green one upon being shot it seemed to stall before dying and leaving behind some remains.

Slamming my muskets butt into the Bonewalker once more, I spun the gun like a staff. Shoving the barrel into its mouth and firing, my rings releasing a fiery glow when the trigger is pulled. The possessed corpse lights up with a fiery glow before becoming ashes, no ghost popping out of the corpse. Huh? Does that mean I just banished it by shooting? Is that what the orange glow means? Misty gray claws rake across my face causing me to flinch and stumble back. A ghost still after me, spinning my musket like a staff once more I slammed the stock into its head.

The gray ghost with now bloodied claws stumbled backwards, taking advantage of this I swept it off its feet with my gun. Barrel finding its way to the ghosts head, a bang going off shortly afterwards causing the ghost to wail as it disappeared. Hitting the stock to the ground I stored my musket once more, seeing and hearing no more ghosts. Touching my bleeding face, I felt around the claw marks that just barely missed my left eye and almost got my right eye. The marks were also going at an almost horizontal diagonal slash from the left to the right. Some of my nose was also missing, but that's not so important as the messages before my eyes suddenly.

[Objective Complete: Kill your first Ghost 100 SP]

[Objective Complete: Gunning for victory 200 SP]

[Objective Complete: Gun Down a Glutton 100 SP]

[Objective Completed…]

[MarvelousMerlin: Well this is interesting, how did you put this strange device in my robes? Did dear little Atoria help you do this? How did you trick her?]

[Objective Complete: First Viewer 100 SP]

Blinking, I slowly just said the first thing that came to mind.

"It's a dick wizard, I'm doomed."

[MarvelousMerlin: Dick Wizard?! I'll have you know I am the greatest sage of Britain and the most handsome mage out of everyone! Now explain how you've done this!]

"I've been kidnapped against my will and put in a world I don't recognize, ghosts tried to kill me, and you think I tricked a child to prank you? Yeah I'm fuckin dead with someone like you being one of my life lines. I hope someone else watches. I want a normal person, not someone going to constantly screw with me like they screw with a child's logic..."

I said this with the blandest tone I usually had and Merlin, from Fate of all things, just goes silent before speaking again as I moved on. Wrapping something around my bleeding wounds after pulling a shirt from my bag and cutting it up. Tying the sword I had to the underside of my musket pretty tightly. All to make a rather large bayonet using some of the cut up shirt I used to make bandaging.

[MarvelousMerlin: When you put it like that… it doesn't make sense in how you did so. You're not in Britain, nor are those creatures Phantasmal entities, they honestly seem mundane. Then let's entertain you being in a completely different world and from a different world, how did this "cellphone" end up on my person?]

"Dunno, the letter I had when sent here just said I was the second Streamer, there's another you should also be able to see called Calamity. And if it's the situation I think it is, then I'm permanently banned from ever returning home. Because I now for lack of better terms have a soul, as where I came from there were zero supernatural entities or anything else, including us having souls, just Humans and animals. Everything else from what I know due to a similar situation when reading a book, that person I read about and now mine racial description."

Merlin didn't say anything else after that as I just kept walking aimlessly. As I had no idea where I was truly, the map could help me, but I felt mine wouldn't offer much assistance. Although I still did go over how much SP I had and which upgrades I could get for my stuff. In the end as I had two thousand seven hundred I did get a few upgrades.

[Voidbag II: 100 > 400

Map II: 100 > 400

Bane Rings IV: 100 > 500

Musket V: 100 > 600

Sword II: 100 > 300

Torch II: 100 > 300

SP: 1300]

After getting my musket to tier five I got an option for three upgrade paths. Which were Bayonet, Marksman, Overkill, and Hybrid which was a mix of Marksman and Overkill. Each path has ways to banish ghosts with my gun, and well I want things to die quickly and to keep my distance from most things so I went for Hybrid. Primarily because I saw a phantasma listed called "3000 worlds" and I remembered FATE Nobunaga due to Merlin being a viewer. So I'm going to definitely be borrowing Nobunaga's phantasma ability Three Lines Formation: Three Thousand Worlds if I can. While walking I learned from my streamer guide that my weapon upgrades do affect non-starter equipment as long as they're the same stuff, Banisher equipment.

However, unlike the starter equipment they'd have durability but could eventually be enchanted to be indestructible. Whoever says reading sucks is a dunce, reading is frankly awesome. My gun also changed with each upgrade and its weapon path. As frankly it looked beat up like it was falling apart before, now it's pristine looking with what looks like Celtic runes engraved at certain spots. As if more runes will originate from those with each upgrade and path ability unlocked. My gun even had straps for essentially making my sword a permanent Bayonet, if I wanted now. As I had watched it incorporate the wrapping I did to do so which was frankly nice. My sword had a slight curve to it, but it was primarily a straightened Cutlass-like short sword with a one sided guard hilt.

[MarvelousMerlin: That is peculiar, upgrading your equipment like you did fundamentally changed or improved it all. Are you sure you're not a mage?]

"Yes I'm sure, I pretty much count as a spiritualist though. Because I kill or send off ghosts now I guess, eventually other things."

I also was proactively ignoring the fact that I was in a purely undead type world. I'll unfortunately be touching everything that shit entails, I just wanted my ghost fights not zombies as well. So for now I'll just enjoy my ghost fights while I can before zombies appear around the world. Because fuck the zombies will just make the ghosts WORSE. Yet I'm now a Banisher as the Stream calls me so I gotta work to survive the undead horrors.

By the time it was two thousand nineteen and I was already well over three hundred years old, at three hundred twenty-eight. I had fought side by side with many people, especially two Banishers who foolishly challenged a Nightmare in New Eden. They succeeded, but if I wasn't around at times. I know Red would have sacrificed the whole town for his girlfriend to be revived. And unlike what I'm assuming was a game with some more… biased views and unrealistic acceptance, but with fucked up shit still. All just from how the two acted. However, real life wasn't rainbows and you couldn't do whatever you like back in this time.

The two had friends, sure, but they caught flak from everyone for their status, skin color, relationship, and occupation. Which is during the time that everyone wasn't a special fucking asshole like in the modern era that got upset over everything. The people here were still fucking assholes don't get me wrong, but they weren't all up in your face about it back when I met the two. Which that part I was thankful for as by the point I got thrown here, well just calling someone a male got someone threatening to kill you. Now that I was entering modern times once more I wasn't looking forward to that bullshit again. Enough so that I practically prayed for the zombies then.

Although having actually good food once more is a nice point of the modern era. So my ever faithful bag that's gotten upgraded a lot has treated me well with storing plenty of foods and medication. As even without the impending zombie apocalypse I needed a lot of bandages…. I needed more. Thus doing the only logical thing to me I made a snap decision to go add more to my hoard of supplies.

Veering off to a pharmacy I got out my fancy Black Card, and walked inside it with a purpose. I had scared the employees shitless with my expression of absolute seriousness. However, when I bought a majority of their stocked medications that weren't for someone else, or just to leave some for other customers and future survivors. That would be when they looked at me differently as I walked out with seventy percent of the store inside my bag.

Well not immediately… I only left after using a mind altering witchcraft to make it seem like I didn't just make it all fit into one bag. I then went to a nearby supermarket after preparing a spell that would make people see me shopping normally. After those though I was stocked even more than I was already with more meds and food onto my warehouse of the things already in my bag. I could probably feed and provide a large settlement with food for sixty years honestly with how much I had. Although I also had an armory of weapons and ammunition inside my bag as well.

Hearing my watching beeping I realized it was about time I headed to work so I got a move on. Since I was the only security guard for a school of hormonal teens and the bastards liked being sneaky. I'll spike Shido's coffee with laxatives though when he gets distracted trying to brainwash the teachers again. It's always a good sight to see the sleazeball have an "accident" suddenly. I'm definitely going to murder him though once the zombies happen or if a ghost makes an appearance. Or I could just banish his soul from his still living body.
