We exercised for two long hours and it was 9:00 am now, leaving me an hour to get ready for work. I took a long hot shower bath, the exercising session was too exhausting for me. I took my time getting ready and when I was done, I checked my reflection for one last time in the mirror. It was a habit. Being punctual, exactly at ten, Enzo knocked the door and I opened it.
"Ready?"
He asked and I nodded.
"You only come to Rexivo to drop me and then you leave. You don't have to do that."
I said as Enzo only go there to drop me and he only left once was took me to my office. He wasn't my driver, I couldn't expect that from him.
"Don't worry about that. I do things that I am supposed to do and it's okay."
He said not letting his emotionless mask off. I couldn't comment on that, it was Enzo and he wouldn't let me win. I walked out of the room and he followed me after closing the door.
"I'll be leaving hotel soon, today. I have plans with Chloe. Is that okay?"
I asked him while he drove us to Rexivo.
"Yeah that's fine but what kind of plans?"
He questioned.
"I asked Chloe to show me the city. So far, I have only got to see the brutal parts of it but I wanna see the good parts too."
I admitted.
"You can go with me."
He suggested and I wanted to tell him, I was capable of looking after myself and he didn't need to babysit me all the time.
"No, it's fine. You have work to handle and I think I'll enjoy Chloe's company. I haven't been close to a girl, since long."
I admitted. Lucy, was the only close friend I had. She was my cousin and the only thing I felt bad about my Marriage's failure was, the realisation that I would never see Lucy again. I wish she remains happy.
"As you wish."
He said.
I entered my office and the bundle of files were already laid on my desk. Chloe was working on her tab, sitting on the couch.
"Seems like we have some work to do today."
I said and she looked at me then beamed. She followed my gaze to the bundle.
"Oh that...you don't have to finish them just yet. We have time to go through them. Don't worry."
She said and I felt slightly relieved.
"Thank god."
I sighed. I was feeling lazy today, I don't know if it was because of the heavy workout session or something else.
"You will have to finish your work early today, you promised me to show the city."
I reminded her.
"Oh! Yeah. I haven't forgotten that."
She chuckled. I settled on my seat to start reading the files and it took me two hours, going through a single file. Chloe had taken her lunch break by that time and I ordered my food in office itself. It felt awkward going to the dining room and eating alone, while all the other people were either fearful or respectful, towards me that they didn't stay close to me. I felt complete alien there. Chloe returned and she was still looking fresh and on the other hand I was all messed up with my hairs all over the place. It was my biggest mistake to keep them open on a humid day.
"Are we ready to go?"
She asked, excited.
"I don't think so."
I frowned at my messy hair.
"You can go freshen up. Use my makeup kit."
She offered and I was glad for it.
"Thanks."
I smiled at her and went to the bathroom. I wiped my face with a face wipe and used Chloe's makeup. Thankfully there was a hair serum there and I tied my hairs into a high ponytail after applying it to my hair. I desperately needed a haircut.
"Ready to go!"
I exclaimed as I got out of the washroom. We headed out and Duke was standing near the elevator. I had no intentions of letting him follow us, it felt awkward as he only used walk behind and all the people stare at us like crazy. Especially the girls, they would shamelessly check him out from head to toe, if only they knew what a real monster he actually was. But there was no other choice, I had to take him with us, Enzo would not like it if he knew I left without Duke.
Three of us stepped into the elevator and stepped out of it on the underground parking. Chloe and I waited near the elevator as Duke went to take the car. He used to bring the car here from the mansion and after dropping me home, he took his car to go back to home. He was a very responsible and trustworthy soldier of Enzo.
Chloe and I settled on the back seats of the car and Duke drove us to the side of city, I had never seen. Chloe told me about some important buildings that passed as we drove. They were enticing and beautiful. The place had many historical building with beautiful architecture that depicted the culture of city, nicely. We went to a museum, it was quiet boring, to be honest but still I got to know more facts about the history of Milan and Italy as well. I refused to tour the whole museum, I was bored already and then Duke took us to a beautiful resort. It was breathtakingly beautiful with natural elements, decorated in the most creative way. The fountains were all over the place and I felt the nature near me. The scent of wet grass relaxed my nerves. We went inside and they offered us to take their massage at spa. I agreed to it without even thinking, I was exhausted. I dragged Chloe for a spa as well.
The massaging session calmed my nerves down and soon I let out all the worries and exhaustion and taking in the advantage of therapy as much as I could. The session refreshed me and I felt light and fresh.
"How you like that?"
I asked Chloe, her face was calm and fresh.
"I loved it."
She admitted and I smiled. We were still in the bathrobes.
"I'll just go and change."
She said and left. I changed into my clothes as well. We went back to the garden and Duke was on phone. He saw us and after a moment ,he put his phone down. The therapy session took us long than we expected and it was already dark outside. I should have asked Duke to go on and have fun, instead of waiting for us but he wouldn't have listened , as his 'Master' Enzo had strictly asked him to never leave my side.
"What would you people like to eat? Let's go to eat something, I'm hungry."
I said.
"You should decide."
Chloe said.
"Don't be so formal. We can have whatever you to decide."
I smiled and looked at Duke for his answer.
"I don't know.. "
He said.
"Uff! You two. I already told you not to be so formal and serious around me. Can't we just hangout like normal friends."
I said and they both looked at me at the same time. Even I wasn't sure how it felt to hangout with friends, normally but that was far from what I could wish for. It wasn't meant for me. It was for normal people.
"How about Chinese?"
Chloe suggested. I looked at Duke for his decision. I had no objection eating that cuisine. It had been a while since I had eaten something spicy.
"Yeah, we can go with that."
He agreed and we decided to go to a Chinese restaurant. We didn't need to book our seats in advance. It was not a very fancy place but to believe what Chloe said, they served the most delicious Chinese cuisine in whole Milan. It took us time reaching there and by that time my stomach started grumbling out of hunger.
"Will Enzo be late today?"
I asked Duke as he stopped in the small parking area, in front of the restaurant. He pulled his chin up at the front direction and I looked up as a pair of headlights blinded my vision. Porsche cayenne, I discovered when the headlights turned off and car stopped in front of us.
Enzo walked out from it. Looking breathtakingly hot in his plain black shirt, unbuttoned from top and sleeves rolled up, exposing his biceps. His muscles flexed as he moved. The sight was ethereal, I got out of the car as well and he approached me with a simple face, without expressions. So this was whom, Duke was talking to on phone.
