Chapter 27 – Rebellious Third Uncle (3)
The old granny broke the longevity sword and grabbed my neck, lifting me up with one hand.
Right then, the copper-coin sword that always hung inside the house flew out with a whoosh. It darted to the old woman. She couldn't dodge in time and got stabbed. A rancid smell came out of her. She fell to the ground with a pained cry and threw me onto the ground. The sword spun in a circle and went for the old woman again.
"What are you doing?" Right then, Grandpa came back from the fields too. Seeing this scene, he threw down his shoulder pole and rushed over to pick me up. Then he glared at the old woman who was getting stabbed at by the sword.
"Old man!" the woman yelled while dodging side to side. "Hurry and put the weapon away! If I die here, my disciples will make it so that your family will never have peace!"
"I was wondering what zombie was here. I see, the yellow deity possessed someone. Since you could do this, why don't you stay in your cave and cultivate? Why are you hurting my child?!" Grandpa roared.
Despite his words, Grandpa still collected the copper-coin sword.
The old woman stared at the sword with a fearful expression. "No wonder you dare to be like this. You have the natal sword of that ox-nosed Taoist. Hmph! Just wait and see!"
After she spoke, she put away the black oil-paper umbrella and disappeared without a trace. Grandpa picked me up with a dark expression and returned to the yard. He lifted my hand to check. I finally realized that there was a bruise where the old woman had grabbed me earlier. Black blood seeped out of the scratches.
Grandpa set me down and gave me the copper-coin sword. "Baqian, wait for me at home."
I was dazed from fear and just stood dumbly in the yard with the sword. After a while, Grandpa returned with a lotus flower. He used tweezers to take out the heart of the lotus and placed it on my wound. I instantly felt a hot flare of pain, accompanied by white smoke. Tears and snot started flowing out. "Grandpa, ow!" I cried.
"Bear it," Grandpa said. "It's corpse poison. I have to use the lotus to suck the poison out."
I nodded. Bearing the pain, I let Grandpa press the lotus onto my wound. It was strange. The white lotus actually turned black after it touched my wound. After that, the blood flowing out of my wrist wasn't black anymore. It became regular red blood.
When Grandpa finished taking care of my injury, I was already covered in sweat from the pain and sapped of energy. Grandpa carried me to bed and asked, "What exactly happened today?"
"Third Uncle came back and gave me a longevity lock. It's this one. That old granny grabbed me and said I stole something." I'd just picked the lock from the ground and gave it to Grandpa now.
When Grandpa saw the longevity lock, he furrowed his brows tightly. He put it under his nose and sniffed. His expression changed drastically. "That bastard!"
"Grandpa, what's wrong?" I asked Grandpa.
"He stole this from a grave!" Grandpa said. "It has the smell of the dead. She came and saw the lock, so she obviously wanted to take your life! Where is that bastard now?"
