"Is he the guy who left your house this morning?" Haven heard Olivia's voice from behind.
Haven had totally forgotten that she was still at the office and Lucas had visited him here.
She closed her eyes and held the edge of her skirt tightly. She can swear she heard Lucas and Olivia snort at her action.
She slowly turned to Olivia and smiled, "He is Lucas. My.."
"Boyfriend." He completed the sentence for her.
Haven mentally slapped herself.
"Wow… I didn't know my best friend was this fast in moving on," Olivia applauded.
"Lucas," he held his hand to Olivia.
"I heard it," she said staring at Haven. Nonetheless, she shook his hand.
Olivia only knew that some guy left Haven's house today morning, adjusting his clothes at that. That's what she had heard from Mrs. Morgan. The old woman had filled in everything she saw to Olivia. Mrs. Morgan was scared to see a strange man in Haven's house. She wondered if Haven had got herself into some trouble with this young man.
Lucas had already picked it up, Haven's best friend was totally opposite to her. She was rather an outgoing person while Haven was a reserved person.
"So what are you doing here?" Olivia asked Lucas.
"Just visiting my girlfriend," he said casually.
Olivia had a lot of questions and doubts to ask both, Lucas and Haven but kept it to herself for now. She'd rather do it after getting to know more about him. All she could sense was something was fishy and something has happened between Haven and Lucas.
"Oh, carry on then. I'll catch up with you later," she said the last sentence to Haven and left the place.
Haven could only wonder what would Olivia do this time. She had done an extended research on James when Haven started dating him. And that didn't really go down well with James and he even bickered a lot with Olivia while Haven and he were together.
Now again, Haven and Lucas were left alone. And a silent crept in the air. Neither of them spoke for a while.
"Shall I drop you home?" He asked breaking the silence.
"Um... I have my car. What about you?"
"I don't have my car with me. Was around with a friend,"
"Ok.."
Haven had no idea why on earth did she accept his offer to get dropped to home by him.
Why did he want to come and visit her at her workplace? Why does he want to drop her home? Did he plan on staying back at her place? Or did he have anything to talk with her? There was no end to the questions that ran in Haven's head.
Haven picked her things and packed her bag. The office was almost empty but the remaining employees didn't miss seeing the man who had come to meet Haven and how she was packing her things to leave with him.
Haven's break up with James and James getting into another relationship was already known to everyone who knew about Haven and James' relationship. But nobody expected Haven to move on this quickly too. They were being way too much of hypocrites. A man could move on quickly after a relationship ended but not a woman.
"Let's go," Lucas heard Haven's voice. He nodded his head and walked with her to the parking lot.
"I'll drive," he said and received the key from her. And he opened the passenger side door for her.
"Are you always a gentleman?" she asked, trying to conceal the blush her face held.
He smirked at her, "No. Only for you."
Those words were more than enough for Haven's heartbeat to increase. She touched her chest and it felt like her heart could explode anytime now.
Lucas got into the car and drove out of the parking area.
Haven didn't know what to talk to him. Or should she be questioning him all of the things that had come to her mind when she was packing her things at her desk?
"Did you think about what I said this morning?" he asked, eyes still fixed on the road ahead.
"No."
"Why?"
"Why should I become your… submissive," she whispered the last word.
He couldn't deny that Haven's shyness was only making him want her more. She was driving him crazy by her soft behavior. He didn't have anyone this soft and innocent in his life. In fact, he didn't have anyone as a constant person in his life. And he was now feeling an undeniable desire to have Haven in life. Within a few days of meeting her, she has gotten him to this extent of making a decision. It must be fate, is what Lucas thought.
"Since you want to learn things to spice up in bed and become a Dominatrix," he recited her words.
Haven hit her forehead, feeling dumb. Why did she have to tell him everything, she thought.
Lucas didn't even try to hide his laughter. He burst out laughing at her.
"Stop laughing," she whined.
He just nodded his head and tried to control his laughter.
"So what's your plan for the weekend?" he asked, trying to make her feel less embarrassed by moving on to a different topic.
"I have a team dinner to organize and attend,"
"Who have team dinner on the weekend?"
"My boss,"
"So where are you planning to organize it?"
"No clue. I have to do some research after going home,"
"Don't worry. I know a friend's place. An Italian restaurant, I can help you make a booking."
"Really,"
"Yes." He drove past the park and reached Haven's home.
She was too much immersed in planning the team dinner, neither did she notice they had reached her home nor did she think why he was helping her and motive behind it. If only she gives it a thought.
