Superior Intellect begins with Michael's reincarnation. He was born to what appears to be an average family on the continent of Mantrea, and has some unique abilities.
The first of Michael's abilities is passive precognition. This is one of the requirements for the Superior Intellect System, and serves as a sort of 6th sense. The next main advantage is that Michael retains all knowledge of his time on Earth.
In addition, Michael is also gifted with the ability to learn all six main magical elements. These elements are: Water, Earth, Air, Fire, Light and Darkness. Each has a simple law that is associated with them. Water flows, earth protects, air carries, fire burns, light shines, and darkness consumes. The better a mage understands these concepts, the more powerful their applications.
There are 5 stages of Mages. They are:
Dormant- ability to use magic is completely untapped.
Novice- individual has established a connection with magic and can use simple external applications of it.
Apprentice- individual can establish an immediate connection with magic and can use all novice and simple applications of it (including internally).
Adept- individual can establish an immediate connection for all apprentice and advanced applications. Must also be able to multi-cast internal spells and be able to hold 3 spells simultaneously.
Master- individual has complete control over a given element, including all known applications of chosen discipline. Must also create an original spellbook.
Each rank (besides dormant) is further divided into three ranks: Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. These are less defined and are determined at the tester's discretion.
A mage, upon entering the apprentice stage, is required to choose a discipline related to their affinities. There are countless options to choose from, even from those with the same affinities.
The world is inhabited with powerful beasts that rival the strength of mages. These are divided into Ranks 1-9. These are roughly aligned with the ranks of a mage, but not necessarily so.
Beasts can be tamed to serve as familiars, strengthening a mage's connection to the familiar's affinities. In rare cases, this can even result in a mage awakening a dormant affinity.
