Chapter 59 - Chapter LIX: Second Round Conclusion

Act: 59

A star hovered behind Tora's back, and out came a clear lion. Dashing towards Shizu. The lion had its mouth wide open, biting down on him. Being too overconfident, Shizu challenged it and took significant damage from his arrogance; blood flew out of his chest, and Tora dashed at him with new characteristics right after. Lion-like paws over his arms and a mane around his neck. Now face to face with him, Shizu tried to escape, but he couldn't break free, and Tora exchanged those punches back at him in return for what he had to endure. His body flailed around, getting hit one after another.

*Pow pow pow pow pow pow pow pow*

Tora's palm covered his head, lifting it and then slamming it down to the ground, crushing the floor. He lifted his head again, feeling that his body was beaten down like a drum; not impressed by his lack of strength, he ducked down to see if Shizu was still conscious. Shizu's eyes were wide open as he looked, and his leg rose high, drilling him in the chin. Bending forward with his knee still on his chin, he jerked Tora by the hair; breaking free of his grasp, he glided, spinning around his neck, and punched him in the back of the head, which sent him straight to the ground so hard, that it blew Shizu away from his body. Regaining his composure, Shizu stood up and saw Tora, who slammed both hands on the ground, slowly standing up.

"Shizu! That's what I love to see!"

*SHOW ME MORE! *

Tora cleared the area and appeared face-first to him; Shizu tucked back to dodge his first attack.

"Impressive."

Tora said right after following with an overhead slam that sent his body folding forward, and he grabbed him by the leg, tossing him up and delivering a solid punch to the gut.

*crack*

As Shizu's body soared in the air, he sprinted at him, punching him over and over while airborne. Blood covered his paws from each hit. Stopping, he pulled his shirt and threw him to the ground, going for another stomp.

Shizu finally had enough, and with his right arm, he blocked his leg from going further. Spinning around him, he went for a kick that was immediately blocked. Dropping his weight swiftly and sticking with a punch, Tora smiled and blocked his punch. On the offense, Shizu repeatedly punched, which Tora blocked perfectly. He glared into Shizu's eyes when they made contact, eyes gazing deep within his soul, blood seeping out the edges of his head, and his pupils widened. Tora looked death in the eyes so it seemed. He raised his knee, struck him, and with his other leg, he lifted and raised Shizu even higher off the ground, creating distance between the two. He gave off a subtle growl before vanishing and appearing behind Shizu in the air, punching him down and immediately going to where he was landing to punch him back up and around. Left, right, up, and down. Tora was launching himself off the air; his pure strength alone was enough to create momentary pockets of air to land on.

A white line whizzed around in the air from the crowd's perspective. His body was a blur, and Shizu flew in the air aimlessly, getting hit all around. One paw slap across his face made him twirl around in the air, bloodshot from his mouth with a few teeth falling out. Tora came in for another punch.

"Enough."

Tora's heart sank from what he heard come out of his mouth.

Shizu grabbed his neck and threw him to the ground. His heart began to beat. He slammed his fist into Tora's gut; Tora tried to grab Shizu's arm and pull him off but struggled. Shizu quickly raised his foot and kicked him with his heel that side his body across the stage.

"SHIZU! THATS MORE LIKE IT!"

He shouted across the field while standing up.

"Allow me to give you a taste of 25% of my strength."

As his arms went up and down, a burst of star energy left his body, cracking the ground underneath him, and when he shouted, a shockwave sent Shizu to his knee, and when he brought his head up, Tora looked down on him.

"It's over for that pathetic boy. No need from me to watch."

Hano said while turning away.

"Shizu. You've impressed me, and I wish to fight you when you get stronger."

A punch from Shizu sent Tora falling from the sky and crashing into the ground, and he did not make a single movement.

*Snap*

Shizu looked around, confused.

*The winner...? Is Shizu..?*

"Are you kidding me!"

Hano returned to face the arena, slamming his fist into a locker, filled with outrage.

The crowd didn't say a word until Han Chul-Moo started clapping loudly, which started a train of everyone else hyping him up.

*Give it up for Shizu, everyone! He did it!*

Tora recovered and made it back to the locker rooms. Cracking his neck. He ran into Hano, who stopped him in place.

"What the fuck, Tora! Why did you hold back at the last minute?! You were supposed to beat him!"

'It seems I was the only one to feel it?'

"Hano. Get out of my face before I crush yours. We both know I can outclass you any day, and I don't mind doing it again."

Placing his hand on Hano's shoulder, Tora continued to stare.

"I wouldn't need to recover, and I could still beat your ass. Watch who you're talking to, student council. Last I checked I remain the strongest here. Take this as a warning; you had better watch out for Shizu because of your confidence. He will crush it."

Tora aggressively pushed off his shoulder and walked away.

"Though Hano, I let him beat me so I could watch him eat you alive. It seems my fight with him finally woke something up, and now you can deal with it. Ha-ha-ha. Oh, this last match-up for the tournaments will be worth watching. Good luck; you'll need it."

Hano stood, speechless.

"I did it! I did it, Chul-Moo! I did it!"

"I know! I know! I know! Big bro, you were awesome out there... That fight was so worth every minute. You were like, pow, pow, and boom."

Chul-Moo recreated his fighting movements while chatting.

"I can't wait for the last round of the entire tournament. You moved on to the big stage. Ya ready, big bro?!"

"Hell yeah!"

They hugged one another, jumping and spinning around with joy. Taku stopped by them.

"You passed Shizu? I can't understand why you keep winning with your weak ass. Know this. The 3v3 I will beat you and put that pride of yours down, understand."

Walking away from them, Taku left with a smile on his face.

"You dare talk to my big brother like that? Taku was it."

Han Chul-Moo stared at his back, with his eyes dropped and two stars in his palm.

"You better calm down, Korean boy. I won't be afraid to freeze you both right now."

Taku turned around with his eyes having a light blue hazy mist come from them.

"Chul-Moo, it's fine. He's right. I'm just a two-star, and I'm barely getting by... The outside world will be much more of a struggle..."

"No, Shizu. I will set him straight now."

Han Chul-Moo dashed toward Taku. Both swords were in his hands, and he slashed in an X-like cross. Taku activated his star outward. The Star became somewhat black, and a black-ice-like shield formed, covering him, blocking both slashes.

"Stop. Taku, it's not worth your time."

Oto stopped them, taking Taku away with him.

"That's right, run away and never speak to my big brother again. You got lucky; after all, someone came to save you!"

Han Chul-Moo looked smug while flipping him off as he walked away.

"Taku's different. His star never did that... What I saw there was black ice... His star was originally an Ice creation, but he learned to manipulate it over time. He has quite the skill of being able to use both. Personally, I don't think it's worth a 4-star title, higher if anything. Although what was that ice... Now. Just what has happened to you recently."

Everyone else went through their upcoming matches. Chisaka won and progressed to the finals along with Aikawa. Unfortunately, Oto wasn't able to progress because he surrendered right away. He reasoned that if he allowed himself to get more involved, he might hurt them badly, and lastly, he did not want to take the opportunity to fight Taku. Daichi and Amamoto, Ren, and Kyde won their rounds. All were progressing in the last showcase of the tournament. Taku was sad because Oto surrendered to someone he could easily beat.

Each student who made it to the finals was brought to the field, where they fought. After everyone had attended, the stage was fixed, and the announcer started to speak to the crowd and contestants.

*Thank you all for attending. It's getting close to the end of school, and you all will be free to go home after I finish showing the results. As for all 12 participants in the tournament, I will now show you who you're on teams with and who you'll be up against next week. I will provide the location in which you need to show up and make sure to bring family and friends to watch, so prepare yourself and train hard.*

The announcer cleared his throat.

*I will now reveal the teams!*

[ Team Omega: Hano, Chisaka, and Aikawa. ]

[ Team Alter: Kyde, Amamoto, and Ren ]

[ Team Consume: Taku, Daichi, and Shizu ]

[ Team Revenant: Naru, Takashi, and Yasu ]

- - - -

*These are your teams. Now, let's see who will win it all. Find out in a week, and I can't wait to see what you all will showcase. Sadly, I won't be your announcer; it won't be as funny, but I will watch you give it your all and represent our school with a good reputation. Don't forget to show the world what you are capable of. Have fun and good luck, and may the best stars win.*

Taku angrily threw his hands up, irritated with his team. Everyone else was okay with the teams; Taku was the only one throwing a fit for all to see.

"Dammit! I want to beat Shizu to a pulp and Hano, too. Why couldn't he have been placed on that trash revenant team! I could've fought him, won, and destroyed Hano- putting his cocky-ass attitude in check. Ugh!"

Taku's face scrunched as he lifted his mouth.

*The teams that will fight first are.*

- Consume vs Revenant-

And then.

-Omega vs Alter-

Now, who will take it to the top? And win.
