I felt like I slept on a cloud, this bed is softer than the previous one. In this moment the clock on my drawer says 5:30 A. M., I'm not used to get up so early, but since I'm in other place and starting a new life, I guess I should get up now. I feel myself a bit nervous, it's not right to get up late, I didn't even ask Freddy about what time the restaurant opens, so I guess it would be better for me to get up now and see if he's already on the stage, or not. I have to be stronger when talking with him, he could think that I'm a shy and stupid kid, I am though, but I don't want to let him know it. It's so warm and comfortable in this bed, I just have a blanket, which humans used to call 'polar', or at least I heard someone says that in MoonLight while they were talking: it's large and warm, I wish I could stay in here and don't get up until 8 A. M., however, I might already have chores to do, so... I will get up and I will get ready.
When I walked out of my room, I saw Freddy's room opened, he's already awake? I thought I was going to find him asleep in his room, I hope it doesn't mean I overslept.
"Is that you, Bonnie?" Freddy asked kind of loud from the kitchen.
"Yeah."
"Could you help me in here with something?"
"Yeah, I'm coming," I replied walking to the kitchen.
It doesn't look like something has changed, things are like they were yesterday, that's great! I thought I was going to found the restaurant like a shining diamond, and maybe with a schedule for today.
When I got to the kitchen, I could see Freddy cooking, he looks more like he's handling a kind of dough: he's got some flour in his ear, and he's wearing a stained apron. Ha, ha, he looks so hilarious.
"Good morning, Bonnie!" Freddy said turning to me," forgive me for bothering you at this time, I just wanted to know if you could please help me to make a pizza."
Pizza? He wants me to make a Pizza? I have no idea how to make one, I just know that they're so delicious and they have a shape of a circle. But if he needs my help, then I will.
"Uhh... Sure," I said scratching the back of my head," it's just that... I've never made one.
"Me neither," Freddy replied smiling, "do you think it would be nice if we try to make one together?"
"Sure!" I said with weak voice.
"Ok, come here," he said making a sign with his hand to come over. "Well, I was adding some water to this dough 'cause it felt like glue, and I knew that people used to toss it, so the water would have to make it softer, but now it's too soft, and I don't know how to fix it," Freddy said frowning and handling the dough.
"Let's see..." I said looking for something around. "Is this the pizza's recipe?"
"I think so, but I don't understand it," he replied kind of sad.
I started to read the recipe. I didn't even know what leaven was and what vegetable oil was either, to me it was just a dough.
"Do we have leaven?' I asked still looking at the book.
"I think this is," he said showing to me a little box.
"I think we have to put some, with some vegetable oil too," I said not even knowing what I was talking about.
Meanwhile, Freddy was adding some of the thing I read over that loosed dough, hoping I'm right.
"It does need flour too."
"It's behind you," he said handling the dough.
To the right side of the door, on the kitchen bar there was an opened flour's bag, that's the only thing I know it's used to make bread or prepare the pizza. I took the bag while I was reading the book in my other hand, but I didn't realize Freddy had spilled some oil on the floor, then I stepped on it and I fell down until I was lying on the ground. All of the flour was spilled on me, turning me into a pale rabbit: white and with red lighting eyes.
"Bonnie! Are you ok?" Freddy asked quickly, turning to me.
I was coughing a little bit because of the flour that had gotten in my mouth. Freddy was looking at me holding a laugh.
"It's not funny," I weakly responded.
"I'm sorry, I didn't want to... Sorry," he said smirking and giggling.
Freddy helped me to get up. He removed some flour from my arm with his hand, now stained for my flour.
"I'm cool," I said nodding and shaking my head to remove more flour.
"Ha, ha, ok."
Freddy was still handling that dough; it seems that it's getting a better shape than the way it was when I got here.
"Look, Bonnie, it's working!" Freddy said full of joy.
"It's true!" I said looking at the dough, "but now we've got to put some sauce."
"It's already prepared. It's in the refrigerator."
I opened the refrigerator and I found a thick red sauce.
"Here it is."
"Good, now here it comes the hardest part."
Freddy took the dough and he started to make it in a shape of a circle, big enough for a large pizza; I knew he wanted to toss the mass up and turn it into a better shape when cooking it. I don't know how those people can do that, but I think Freddy can do it. He tossed the mass up in the air, but instead of turning into a circle shape, it got the shape of a wrinkled bag. It fell right onto Freddy's head.
"Oh, shoot!" Freddy said with the mass all over his head.
Freddy looked so ridiculous that I couldn't hold my laugh.
"Don't laugh," he said trying to remove the mass from his head.
In that moment, Freddy threw a little bit of that mass to me, even though I ducked, the mass got in my face. With a playfully face, I took some of the mass from my face and started to threaten Freddy with it.
"No, no!" Freddy said laughing, "Bonnie, no, I'm already stained, no, no."
I was walking closer and closer to him with a ball of mass in my hand. Once he was already against the wall, I threw that mass ball, which hit right in his chest. After that, Freddy took some flour to throw it to me, though he already knew I got my whole body covered with flour.
There we were, playing and making a mess in the kitchen, throwing any food around to each other, then I realized he was my boss, I had seen him like a good friend though; despite I just got in here and I don't know him at all, this made me trust him even more.
"Hold it, Bonnie, hold it," Freddy said standing without moving.
We both were breathing hard and sweating for all the food we dodged.
"We better start to finish this pizza, ok?"
"Yeah, let's do this," I said still breathing hard.
We started again to make this pizza, now in a more serious way.
* * *
When we finished the pizza, it didn't look so bad; at least I thought it looked really appetizing.
"It's ready," Freddy said looking at it.
"So... who is this for?"
"It's for us."
"For us?"
"Yeah, why not?" he asked looking at me, "this is the first time we make a pizza together, we should celebrate it by eating it."
"Well, if it's not too much trouble," I said while Freddy was putting the pizza on the kitchen's center table.
"Oh, no, don't worry," he replied laughing and patting my shoulder, "besides, I am your boss, so I decide if I want you to eat this pizza with me or not."
"Uhh... Yeah, it's true, I mean, while we were playing I forgot that you were my boss," I explained blushed and looking down.
"It's ok," he said smiling and laughing, "So now, as your new boss, I ask you for a little breakfast with me."
Anything for this good boss.
"Anything for the boss," I said weakly.
"Ok, then go ahead."
