My plan to catch Sloan's nephew was well under way. What's-his-name-the-second lived in a very very ritzy part of Dallas. It had been just my luck my new way to lavish mansion was in the same neighborhood. It was that very very sizable bonus that had me now floating naked in the pool. I floated in lazy circles thinking. I had thrown some pretty insane parties in my time, but for some reason this one was making me nervous. I swam over to my cell phone. It was time to call in a favor.
Mara was my frenemy. For hundreds of thousands of years we have been rivals, but we are also pretty tight. It's like that one friend that's constantly saying passive aggressive remarks, but you still keep them around for some reason. We looked like we could be sisters, and I suppose that is pretty accurate. Lucien had made us both at the same time. She is also red haired, green eyed, shapely, and a succubus. Personality wise we are completely different. Where I am goofy and fun Mara is very serious. She is elegant and I have to admit throws one hell of a party. She would also know who to invite so my target would actually want to come. I wrapped myself in a towel, and called.
"Well, well Lilith I haven't spoken to you since last time you got into trouble. I heard you where stupid enough to make a deal with the boss." Mara said her prim British accent making her sound snooty. The accent was fake. I think she tried to be better than me just so she could be superior to at least someone.
"Well I am actually making progress on that. I am calling in a favor, It is something you will actually enjoy. I need to throw a super sophisticated party that a multimillionaire trust fund baby would want to go to."
"I see, well on one hand I would love to see you crash and burn, but if Lucien gets you back he will start to get ideas on me as well. Plus like you said I love parties. Well I will just have to fly out there on your dime of course." She said sighing as if I where just so exhausting.
"My pleasure fly first class my treat. See you by tomorrow night?" I asked trying to butter her up.
"Who did you rob this time?" Mara asked I could feel her eyes rolling from here.
"Why Mr Sloan of course." I said cheerfully. Mara laughed and hung up on me.
