After finalizing his thoughts in his head, Leon then directed his attention back to Ghost. At this point Ghost had been waiting for a reaction from this mysterious brat. Believing that the kid wouldn't answer he decided to continue.
"I'm a Ghost from the black star gang. Name's Lawrence. Knowing how influential our gang is you should be able to grasp the gravity of my position. The three imbeciles you just turned into vegetables belong to the gang as well." The gangster said while shaking his head at the other three gang members.
Lawrence somewhat respected this unknown brat because of the previous movements against those now incapacitated thugs slumped against the cracked brick wall.
'Although this kid is a brat, it seems he does have some capabilities. If I could recruit him into the gang I'm sure the boss would be content considering his skills at this age. He might even rise above my position in the future, but I have to test him here to confirm his talent...'
As Lawrence continued to ponder these possibilities on strengthening his gang, Leon adopted a serious expression and addressed the Ghost.
"Alright Ren, I guess I should introduce myself as well. I'm Leon, or code name: Reaper."
Finishing this sentence Leon bowed his head like Lawrence had done before to gain his favor. Of course this was done in order to begin his scheme.
Hearing Leon rudely address him as Ren made Lawrence slightly frown. However, he was even more shocked when Leon introduced himself as a "Reaper."
In the underworld only the top brass knew of the "Reapers" dangerous existence, and Lawrence had only heard legends of them from his boss. Small beads of sweat could be seen building up on his forehead as he gave Leon a look from head to toe once again.
'How could a kid even get that title?'
The little he had heard from his boss when asked to describe a Reaper flashed through his thoughts once again.
"Lawrence if you ever come into contact with a Reaper you must first understand their title. People who are given the title of Reaper make killers in the underworld seem like children.
If you believe your position as a Ghost is remarkable ask yourself this: if ghosts terrorize most people... Then who can give the ghosts fear themselves?
Reapers... Reapers instill this fear and keep the higher ranks in their place. Attempting to fight one as a Ghost is the same as bringing them pigs to slaughter. So always be cautious if you ever are unfortunate enough to meet one.
Not only are they masters of killing arts but are also adept in disguise. If you take anything away from this conversation just remember this: Reapers are gang predators.'
As the words of his superior replayed through his mind, Lawrence no longer felt the urge to fight this "kid" anymore. He had not risen to the rank of Ghost with only strength but through his cunningness as well.
'When faced with a uncertain situation always remain cautious, since their are no absolutes in a heartless city such as this.' He voicelessly murmured to himself.
After great deliberation Lawrence decided to let his boss handle the situation from here on. Since there was no point in putting his life in danger over some stupid thugs.
Noticing the mixed changes in Ren's expressions, Leon confirmed he had said the right thing. Using his memory from his past life, Leon knew this title was known by different names depending on which gang you talked to, but in this part of the city Reaper was what they used. Only gang members and underworld affiliates that held a high enough position would know any details related to their existence. Since Lawrence was a Ghost then Leon assumed he should at least have heard about these Reapers' existence.
Luckily, due to his close relations with the black star gang in the past, he knew of their respect and admiration they held for Reapers. Especially considering that they didn't have any members equivalent to that level yet in this time period.
'The only problem is if he will believe me based on my actions from earlier or if he will see through my charade cause of how young I am...'
Nervousness struck the heart of Leon since he was unable to fight any longer due to his frail body currently. However, he was careful to not let this weakness show on the outside.
Fortunately, Lawrence's cautiousness and wisdom was stronger than his other companions.
"I hope you can forgive us for our offences. As for apologies... I invite you to visit my boss and I for a smoke and to discuss our business."
Lawrence bowed once again but genuinely this time hoping to appease the powerful figure he had disrespected just moments ago. The beads of sweat could still be seen greatly multiplying on his forehead as he waited for an answer.
'Although black star is powerful, there are still certain powers even we dare not provoke.' Gulped Lawrence as his nerves began to eat away.
While he waited for a couple seconds that he would swear lasted a century, Leon finally answered him.
"Since you and your boss seem to be decent enough I guess I could spare some time. Unfortunately, this will have to wait until tomorrow afternoon due to some business I am currently conducting." Answered Leon in a domineering manner before walking past the Ghost that had blocked his path just moments earlier.
As Leon pushed past the stunned crowd, the nervousness he had held in his heart just awhile ago completely vanished. As if it had never existed before and was replaced by the fiery ambitions he swore to uphold.
'Once I settle the matters regarding my father I seriously need to train...'
Leon sighed after feeling the fatigue his young and untrained body felt while continued his path towards the hospital.
On his way to his father he was again lost in thought, but it wasn't from the fond memories of his youth this time.
'If I remember correctly my father's incident at work was not caused by an accident as cited in the reports. It was all set up by that second manager who was jealous of my my father's position and status... But I don't have proof at the moment. Which will only lead nowhere when confronting those people. Perhaps I can get some use out of this black star gang sooner than I expected.'
After some consideration, Leon decided how to test the strength of the black star gang at this current time period. With some more calculations he felt certain he could control the gang in enough time to find justice for his father.
Once Leon finally reached the hospital he was surprised by the amount of people rushing in and out from the main glass doors. Multiple personnel wearing surgical uniforms raced about amongst the corridors inside the brightly lit building.
Through this utter chaos Leon wandered till he found the front desk and asked the busy woman, currently writing and flipping through documents, what room he would find his father in. The sleepless woman raised her head and questioned him in a sunken voice.
"What's the patient's last name?"
After answering the woman, continuous clicking noises rang through the busy corridor as she finally found the information she was searching for.
"He's located on floor 5 in room 13B."
After issuing the information the woman then returned to her documents as Leon ran towards the nearest elevator.
While in the elevator Leon noticed two strange looking men in black suits, like the men who killed him in his previous life wore, and immediately felt unease.
'I wonder what poor soul is unfortunate enough to deal with them today?'
As he wondered which poor person could possibly have offended these brutes, he discovered the elevator was at his floor, and quickly walked out into the long hallway lined with hospital rooms on both sides.
Once he found the room his father was located in he hurriedly rushed over and knocked on the door before entering with that sense of unease still lingering in his chest.
