The walk to school the next day was uneventful for Leon compared to the ruckus he had wandered into previously. However, he took advantage of this small increment of time by pulling out his phone to text his contact information to Jay, and give him further instructions on what information to relay at the end of each month.
This gave Leon more insight into the organization's funds and activities, and gave him an unprecedented advantage for his age compared to his last life.
'Now that I will have access to the expenditures and operations within the gang, I can make some systematic changes to increase efficiency. Although the nightclub and fighting rings bring in a substantial amount of income, I think the organization should prioritize assassinations and infiltration operations more.
This will not only allow us to gain more information on big groups and powerful figures in the city, but will also provide us with more profit.'
After running through the numbers and possibilities in his head Leon narrowed the options down to this conclusion. This would not only provide better funding for his gang, but would also put information and weaknesses about his past enemies in his possession.
'However, until I can root out the capable members in the gang, this will not be possible... I guess I'll have to train a special squad for these endeavors to further increase our strength and productivity.'
Leading to this thought, Leon let out an exasperated sigh as he realized the amount of effort needed to have the gang operating to his standards.
As the time frame for his scheming was starting to reach its limit, Leon noticed Arthur and a couple of other snobby prep schoolers laughing at him from the front gates of the academy.
'Why do these idiots continuously beg to be beaten...'
Returning a chilling glare to the stuck up group of students, Leon brushed past them as he entered the academy.
As Leon walked through the halls to arrive at his classroom he could hear the gossiping students around him ridiculing him. However, when Leon's gaze fell upon the annoying flies surrounding him, they quickly looked away and shut their mouths unlike previously.
'What the hell is going on today? I've seen multiple people snickering behind my back, but usually it's just Arthur and his cronies.'
As he finally arrived at his seat, Leon slung his bag on top of his desk and used it as a headrest to take a nap. Unfortunately, when the second class began his instructor called out his name.
Upon not receiving an answer the professor became increasingly annoyed and hurled a piece of chalk at the ignorant and rude boy's head. To the professor's dismay the chalk did not hit its mark as usual and cause an embarrassed reaction.
Noticing the projectile approaching, Leon flawlessly caught the chalk and tossed it over his head out the window adjacent to him, while remaining slumped over his desk.
The professor's face became engulfed in fury, and became so red other students wouldn't be surprised if flames erupted from his bald head. Until the steaming professor reached his seat Leon did not raise his head.
Looking up at the teacher who had become a red chili pepper, Leon let out a snort from his nose.
"What can I do for you professor Arnold?"
Acting as if nothing happened Leon questioned the now disheveled man before him.
Hearing the snide reply, the professor instantly erupted releasing a lecture upon the student until he was satisfied. When he finally had peaked his enjoyment of berating the unruly student, he informed the troublemaker of his undesired situation.
"The headmaster wishes to see you in his office for the commotion you caused here yesterday. If I were you I would learn to stop being a useless idiot and open your eyes before insulting an official's son!"
Finally finishing his tantrum the teacher resumed class as Leon sighed and departed from the classroom after ignoring a majority of the scolding.
'It seems some children receive their mental illness from their family. I suppose the apple never does fall far from the tree. Although, in this case I would describe them as more of a weed and its roots.'
After realizing the problem had been caused by Arthur yet again, Leon couldn't help but be reminded of this classic idiom.
Pushing open the door to the headmaster's study, Leon rolled his eyes as his gaze landed on the buffoon and his father smugly reclining in the study's chairs.
As soon as Leon had stepped foot into the office, the father of Arthur halted his conversation with the headmaster and began his verbal assault on Leon.
"How can the dirty hands of this miscreant be allowed to touch my esteemed son? Has this academy finally fallen off of the rails from the institution it was originally founded upon.
Headmaster, this student of yours caused injury to the son of a government official, and interrupted my meeting by forcing me to take my poor child to the hospital.
It seems that the money I have donated to this institution is just being used to support the hoodlums who beat down the promising and hardworking students that devote themselves to this academy."
While speaking towards Leon and the headmaster, the furious man began to take out his phone and pretend to dial a number of one of his influential acquaintances.
"I demand this juvenile be expelled from this academies grounds and detained for assaulting my son! Unless, the student is willing to kowtow before my son and I, ask for our forgiveness, and apologizing for the damages he has caused this esteemed figure and his child."
The man's eyes began to pop out of his head as he spat out the sentence for the rude and disrespectful student that had beaten his son. After finishing, the man crossed his arms and stuck his chin towards the ceiling expecting to hear the student beg for forgiveness.
However, instead of the student breaking down and begging for his forgiveness, he laughed in his face, and slowly turned his attention from the headmaster to the asinine official.
"It appears this tree has rotten roots as well! I expected the son to be a moron, but did not believe the father would be as ludicrous as well...
If anything, both of you should be kneeling before me begging for the forgiveness of pestering me, and thanking me for providing your son with the discipline he's never properly received!"
Snorting after the last sentence Leon took a seat in one of the remaining chairs in the room, and crossed his legs awaiting a response.
The shocked official slowly shaped his face from contempt to seething with venom as he listened to the ridiculing onslaught the youth dared speak before him.
"You worthless thug dare speak to me in this manner! Fortunately for you I am friends with the officer in charge of this borough... Just wait till I have him detain you and have your sorry ass rot in a cell!"
Taking out his cell phone the official dialed the number of the officer he was acquainted with and instantly filled him in on the situation. After smugly hanging up the phone the man took his seat across from Leon, and continued to chastise him while he waited for the police to arrive.
Completely ignoring the man and disregarding the impending arrest, Leon took out his phone and dialed Jay's number.
"Hey Jay I'm currently in a situation here with an official who is trying to have me detained. Yeah, he called the officer in charge of the Red Hills Borough jurisdiction and is having him send police to arrest me at the scene."
Surprised at the sudden call from his now newly "appointed" boss, Jay let out a laugh as he heard the current situation.
"This guy must be a low ranking official if he only has ties to a borough officer. Unfortunately, for him and his officer "friend" I have connections to the head of the police branches here in the city.
Of course, I figure you already know this since you are calling me for this annoyance. You don't have to get things messy or anything because I'm placing a call to the head brass now, so just relax boss."
Hanging up the phone call Jay sighed and scratched his head.
'It seems I won't be able to relax or drop my guard even when the boss isn't around...'
Hearing the great news Leon returned his phone to his jacket's pocket and leaned back in his seat as he listened to the music of the hypocritical official across from him.
The droning noise finally stopped as the officer, himself, personally entered the room, causing the low ranking official to quickly run over to greet him like a devoted dog.
The official never thought the officer would arrive personally on the seen, since he was in charge of his own police squad.
'I guess I'll have to treat him and his family to dinner for giving me this much face!'
While appreciating the sentiment of the officer arriving personally, the official approached him with a smile.
Turning his face away from the officer while pointing at Leon the official shouted his command.
"Take this piece of trash away from this academy and my respectable son before he taints anymore of our image!"
Not seeing the officer move an inch, the official became slightly angered as he faced the officer again.
"What are you doing? Parade this garbage through the academy in handcuffs and lock him in a filthy cell!"
The official became increasingly angry as the officer sighed and walked over to the student apologizing for the scene caused by the two morons behind him.
As the poor official continued to raise his voice, the officer shot a hateful glare towards him as he thought of the potential damage cause by this pair of idiots.
'These fucking morons almost costed me my position! If I didn't get that bloody phone call from the Head of the departments and arrested this kid, I could've flushed my career down the drain along with these two jackasses.'
As the provocative words from the officials mouth increased, the officer slowly approached him and repeatedly slapped him across the face before pushing his head down to bow along side himself.
"Mr. Jackson I apologize for the lack of sight my friend, I mean distant acquaintance, has held against you.
The Head of the departments sends his regards as well, and hopes you don't forget his goodwill when interacting with you further in the future."
Flabbergasted, the official who suddenly realized the meaning to the officer's words immediately felt the moon had fallen upon his shoulders. Feeling the buzz from his phone in the pocket of his suit jacket made him feel even more nauseous.
Answering the call in a timid voice after seeing it was his superior, he felt as if his heart had been wrenched out of his chest.
"Dave, just who in the cold depths of hell, did you just offend? After doing some digging I learned from the Head that he has ties to FallenStar! Are you trying to get our branch massacred?
Don't bother coming into work tomorrow as you've brought it upon yourself to strangle your career!"
Hearing the travesty his actions had caused, he realized only to late that he had offended someone you should never cross paths with. Thus, in the matter of moments, him and his son destroyed his life long career...
Coming to this understanding the amount of pent up emotion cause the man to faint, as the officer dragged his lifeless body out the room while apologizing yet again to the youth who remained comfortably seated across the room.
Seeing his father being dragged out the room, and still not completely comprehending the situation he had inevitably caused, Arthur followed the officer and his father in a confused manner.
Once the room finally became silent, the headmaster questioningly looked at Leon, but didn't ask him anything. Clearing his throat he decided the only thing that seemed proper in this situation was to let the student return to his class.
"It seems the opposing party has dropped their charges so you may return to class now..."
Finally receiving the acknowledgement to return to his "nap", Leon left the room and resumed his classes. On the walk back to his classroom, Leon chuckled to himself as he realized he had finally disposed one of the past annoyances in his early life, and slept soundly till the final bell signaling the end of classes.
