Chapter 36 - Survive (10)

"We'll start by meeting up with a friend".

They began lightly jogging whilst the snow was melting to reach his friend. The goal would be to find food and shelter there.

The air still felt cold but it was supplemented by the heat from the sun rays. It was actually quite pleasant to run through the forest like that he thought, he really liked that to be honesty.

Noah was still struggling with figuring out the man's motivation for doing what he did, in the end he simply came out and asked why. "Why did you do it?". The sharkman responded, "do what".

"Why did you abandon your whole clan for me?"

"Firstly, I wouldn't call them my clan, and it went against my beliefs to torture someone innocent simply for walking in our corridors"

"Huh, how come you wouldn't call them your clan".

"Well. It's like a dictatorship down there, the mayor makes us all slave away in the mine, whilst he himself sits on his high chair and does nothing. It is despicable, to be honest, but there is nothing I can really do. It is what it is, I guess.

There was a silence and nothing more, complete silence. They kept on jogging through the forest, the sharkman was hyper-aware looking left and right constantly for onlookers. He was wary of the cannibal clan, and any other intruders. As of now, they had to be really careful not to find any enemies.

"What clan do you belong to", the sharkman asked whilst looking left and right scouring the entire area.

"I don't know their name, they got ambushed by the cannibals the second I arrived there", a memory of Alice popped through his head. There's no way she could survive, he thought to himself.

They arrived at their goal. There was a large hill as if a bump sticking out. There seemed to be a large cave opening on the hill but all around it, there were countless wooden logs acting as a wall. They were similar top he tones Noah had seen in his camp.

The sharkman walked forward and knocked at the wooden door. Noah heard movements from inside the enclosure. Then the large wooden door creaked open, and out stepped an old man.

"What do you want from me?"

"A place to sleep, and food"

"Get the fuck out of here"

The old man tried to close the door on his face but the sharkman had already put his hand in the way, keeping the door open. "I remember you said I have a favour I could redeem whenever".

"FINE!"

The door shot open and behind it there was multiple totems with runes on them, there was also light sources everywhere, and he also saw the green grass on the floor, there was no snow anywhere inside of the enclosure.

"You'll find food deeper in the cave, but first. How come you come now?

"I want to escape the…"

"YOU DUNCE! You aren't seriously saying you want to climb that hairy giant"

"I do"

"How are you going to deal with the yeti's, and all the other monsters who live on that giant."

"I'd kill them?", The sharkman shrugged it off.

"With your strength, I DIFFER! In no world would you ever make it past the waist.

Noah looked closer at the old man and realized something quite odd. He recognized that the old man had hair which stretched towards each direction, it was white, and his eyebrows looked permanently shot up, his eyes looked wild and creative.

Soon the conversation was done with, and they went deeper into the cave. Noah smelled the attractive smell of meat, it was as if a siren was calling him. He quickened his pace and soon found himself in front of multiple layers of freshly roasted meat which hadn't seemed to rot.

He began eating into it as if he was an animal. It was delicious without a doubt. He loved every single second off It, and he felt like a ball when he was finished.

The sharkman had been beside him eating as well, he ate with more finesse. "What now?", Noah asked the sharkman. "We begin your training of course", Noah's eyebrows shot up, 'training' he thought to himself.

"We have a bucket list of things we need to do, actually let me write it down so that you know what we need to do. They found a paper on one of the multiple shelves in the cave, they also found a pen beside it.

He began writing down all the points

Learn…

"Wait, what's your name?"

"Noah"

"Great, mine is Shark"

Noahs chin shot up, 'what a strange name' he thought to himself.

Shark continued to write on the paper.

Climb

"That seems really simple actually", Noah said.

"It's not, it really isn't" the shark responded.
