Gods in the world of Zeledon were drastic creatures. The gods were said to be the first to inhabit the world of Zeledon, and that they gifted us a part of their characteristics, and that was the ground for our humanity came from them. One day, they had disappeared, left us to our own devices: centuries of chaos had entailed.
Rumours of their home had been thrown around, at the top of the highest mountain one said, at the bottom of the sea another said, in another dimension, hidden among us. The theories were endless and nobody truly knew. However they knew, that they were being watched from the system informing them that much.
Through centuries the image of the gods had corrupted, faded, disappeared, changed. Very rarely a rumour would spread through the lands about a god being sighted. It always spoke of their power, sometimes of their grace, other times of their tyranny. One thing was never disputed though, they always had the form of a human.
…
Noah stared at the large club in front of him, then Ferro walked up to it. He tried to pick it up using one hand, but he couldn't raise the entire thing. He had to lift it using both his hands, it was shaking and moving it felt wobbly. It was far too heavy for him to use.
Evening was about to end, and they figured that they would leave for today. Noah speculated about the value of the bone club as they walked back, but before they left the ruins, they killed twenty skeletons for the quest.
Noah had to balance all the bones between his arms, whilst Ferro carry the club. But, Ferro couldn't carry it, instead he dragged it through the ground leaving a trail.
The first thing they did when they arrived back in the city was turn in the quest. 20 copper coins, Noah's jaw almost fell off. Twenty copper coins was nothing, "Why did Ferro invite me if he knew it would be this easy." he thought to himself.
Then they walked into the market, it was late and silent, more than it usually was. In the mornings almost every stall would shout to find attraction, shout until their voices went raspy, and then they'd force their apprentices to shout.
They wanted to sell the club. As of now, they couldn't use it, the logical choice would be to sell it. The city was divided into multiple areas, similarly, the market was also divided into multiple areas.
They were poor, the lesser market would be for them. The wares would be rotten or slightly broken, the stalls might of lost a support leg and were leaning, the merchants haggled about everything.
Noah didn't want to go there now, he wanted to go to a fancier area. He thought that the big bone club was a catch, a proper fish, a cassanova, a hot girl, a hidden treasure. And, he wanted to be given a good price for it.
They travelled further into the market, reaching the richer areas. Noah noticed how more eyes looked at them, especially the guards eyes. They were after all the oddity in this scenario, the people around them walked pompously, and their clothes were pretty and whole.
A skeleton eyes whilst trying to slaughter you, was a way more pleasant look than the looks they were given by the people around them. Ferro felt that it was slightly disgusting how high these people thought they were, in his eyes, they were given everything from day one. Whilst he had to fight for everything,
They went into the closest weapons store. The person standing over the counter was an old man, probably a veteran. He had multiple scars running around his body and looked worn out, behind him was multiple swords hung up, they varied greatly.
They walked up to the clerk, with the club in hand, Ferro didn't dare drag it through the floor. Something about the old man scared him. He put it up on the table in front of the clerk, "how much" Ferro said. The clerk picked it up using only one of his hands, he shifted it and inspected it as if it was a mere dagger. Ferros jaw almost touched the floor.
"3 silvers, leave it or take it", the clerk said. Noah's jaw hit the floor, before anything else could be said, he had already agreed to it. In his mind, he was officially rich. 3 silvers, three whole silvers, he could buy endless salted jerky with that money.
Luckily, they had already agreed to split it 50/50 before greed had a chance to taint their decisions. They kindly asked the clerk to split in in half for them, he scoffed in their faces. He had no reason to do it, and they didn't dare try to force him into it, as if they could.
The clerk simply put three silvers on the counter.
"if you want to split it, how about I give you two weapons and 50 copper coins for the exchange of those three coins", Noah glanced upon the weapons, he was awestruck. He'd be down for it, but he couldn't force Ferro into it.
Ferro thought about it, his main reason for doing this was to get a long sword again, he agreed. "Right then, from the looks of it I guess you two are adventurers. We'll start with you boy" he looked at Ferro, "I'm guessing you are a warrior?", Ferro nodded.
"What do you want, long swords, short ones, light ones, heavy ones. What's your taste", he spoke about it as if it was a dish. "Something unforgivable, I want it to rip through them at once.", "Heavy and long in that case", he took out a sword. It was a two handed sword, it had been adjusted towards Ferro's high and looked really sharp and thick.
"What do you say, boy?"
"I like it" Ferro said.
"Now to you, what class are you?"
"A rogue"
"Oh, a quick one are you, what weapon would you like?"
"Daggers"
The merchants eyes stared into the void, he was in deep thought about something. He ran to the back of the store, exiting their view. He re-appeared with two black blades in his hand, they were dull, rusty, and covered with dust. They had a strange shape, they curved slightly looking like stretched "C's".
"These are worth ten silvers, but to someone that's young and poor like you, It's a bargain. Trust me, the metal these are made out of far outclasses anything else at one silver. What do you say? I'll sharpen them if you decide to take them."
"Sounds good", Noah said When the clerk heard those words he rejoiced. Those daggers were here when he had started, and nobody has ever wanted to buy them. The reason for this, they weigh way too much. Six times heavier than a normal dagger, but for now they were light. He had used a scroll to lighten the weapons for the next three hours.
