Chapter 25 - 25. Bits

Therefore, with his skill activated, he could finally see the reason as to why Mato was sweating buckets since the start of the game. Yoro's eyes could perceive he had 20 in his hand, and Chad also 20. Usually, any normal and sane person would have held his hand and been satisfied with the number they got, but Chad, with that ever-changing straight face of his, confidently asked for one more card.

As if he had already known what he would get, Chad added the card with number one on his hand, which in turn completed the set of cards he had into a perfect 21 as a whole.

'His foresight really can't be regarded as a joke. For it to be like that, the grade might be the same if not higher than my clairvoyance.' Yoro thought as he looked at the two players who had decided to show this comedic show to an end. But funnily, not only Yoro who saw the game 'literally' as a whole, but Mato seemed to already know it was his loss.

"Well well, it seems I win… again." Chad snorted smugly as he revealed his hand to conclude the end of this game.

"tsk,  this is why I hate playing with you. I also wonder though, why am I even still here when the outcome has already set in the fucking bloody stone?" He raised both of his hands upwards in a resignation gesture, a dry laugh came out of his lips as he did so.

Chad smirked, increasing the scariness of his face tenfold at how strange he looked when he was smiling. "I hope your head isn't too devastated by this loss to forget our part of the deal."

Mato shook his head. "No, of course I haven't." He then turned his head at the dealer, then at the people around, before then he placed his eyes back at Chad. "But as you can see, this place might not be the best place for… that."

"A private room, then?" Chad asked.

Mato nodded "Yes, private room as always."

"And as always, you pay." Chad smirked, and Mato responded with a grunt.

Afterwards, Mato led them towards the deeper area in this casino, a place where normal people more often than not wouldn't come. It was already an unwritten rule that the deeper you went in this casino, the more budget you needed to have in your pocket.

While Yoro was looking around like some country bumpkin, Mato headed out first to reserve one of the private room in there. Different from the front area, this place was way more quiet. Even if there were quite many rooms that were reserved at the moment, Yoro couldn't hear a thing from his spot, an indication that the room might have some kind of sound proof.

Yoro also noticed Chad's behaviour. Different from him, Chad was able to keep his composure in this place. Considering his personality, Yoro was almost sure that Chad had been coming here quite often to be this familiar with this place. He also noticed the gaze's on passing people around was not directed at him, but towards Chad instead.

That was enough proof to show Yoro that Chad was not just anybody in here. He seemed to have had some kind of reputation in this place, either bad or good, he was certainly remembered by almost all the people in here.

'note to self, never ever bet with Chadrac.' thought Yoro.

Mato came back with keys in his hand, and being tied there was a sign with number 15 on it, probably the number of their room.

"I have gotten the room, let's go."

And without waiting for our response, he then walked off towards one of the rooms lined in there. Yoro followed him inside, and what appeared was a small conference room. Yoro said it was small, but it was actually the same size as his own bedroom in the Ehren Mansion.

Mato sat down on one of the chairs, while Yoro sat across from him. Chad actually had chosen to guard the room, preventing any prying ear or eyes. And thus, it left Yoro with only Mato inside the room.

"Right, so where do you want to start?" Mato leaned back on his seat, back to his aloof manner like before.

"I want to know all the things you know about her. It's the content of our deal, right?" Asked Yoro.

Mato nodded and closed his eyes, thinking. "Then it left me to start anywhere I want to, right?" After some moment of collecting his thoughts, Mato opened his eyes again and looked at Yoro in the eyes.

"Well, first of all. I direly advise you to get nowhere near her." He started, prompting Yoro to raise his eyebrows. Mato laughed dryly upon seeing this reaction of his. "Well you know, t's not like I am trying to cut the ties between you two lovebirds. But first the most important of all, the information regarding her is all bloody hell strange."

Mato cleared his throat, seemed to be uncomfortable by saying this piece of information. "To be honest with you, I used to have all kinds of information about the Escilla's noble. Starting from their preferences in doing things, to their deeds either fucking good or bad as hell."

Yoro's expression contorted. "You used to?" Yoro quoted his words with a frown.

He sighed as he slumped on his seat, looking stressful more than anything. "Yes, it was all good and flower at that time... but then it all took a 180 degree change approximately 3 years ago. It was right at the time when the angel's tears fell in Liam's County.

Well how should I say this… She, for some unknown reason, was suddenly turned into a whole different person. If you describe her before that event occured, the most fit and suitable description was a naive and innocent sheltered little girl, oblivious to the outside world-" As he said that, he suddenly stopped and placed his eyes to the person in front of him, realizing the other party wasn't more than a kid himself.

'is this brat even understand what I am talking about? Or is he just absent-mindedly asked about his life-partner and just wanted my information out of curiosity alone?' Mato furrowed his eyebrows and thought. 'Maybe it was better for me to lie? It's not like he's gonna know without Chadrac in here.'

When Mato drowned in his conflicted thought, Yoro then faked a cough, in turn waking Mato up from his stupor. Yoro's glare was all it needed to say that he knew what kind of impolite thought Mato was having regarding him at the moment. And it was surprisingly enough to threaten him to spill out a true-beans-only.

"Haaa… to tell you the truth, our spies in the mansion all had been wiped out. It was since then all her talents, ability, and wisdom revealed to the public. If you want the description about her at the moment, then the most appropriate one is 'a prodigy of prodigy.' It was like the Angel Tear event itself occurred as the god's means to say he favored the girl over the other, and something like messing with her would be completely out of question."

"Wait wait, hang on in there. You haven't told me what this 'angel tears' occurence is all about." Yoro stopped him from saying more and messaged his temple. It's also became apparent that this girl wasn't just no one. Well for Yoro, she was just another mess though.

"As you can see, I am a sick and ill little boy. And thus, I hadn't and was prevented to have any contact with the outside place at all time, which makes me oblivious with all this new information."

"But now you-"

"Ah, it's because Chad came with me, so my parents allowed it." He waved his hand as Yoro cut him off, already knowing what Mato was going to say.

"Haaa…. so you don't know?" He looked at me strangely, finding what Yoro said very odd.  "….Well, from what people said, it was a bright light like a white blinding lightning spear fell off from the sky out of nowhere, the only once in the eternity phenomenon that happened right 3 years ago. All the people who confessed to seeing it by their own eyes said the light was traveling with a very fast speed, it was really really fast that not even a second had passed before the light striked Liam's mansion estate. For some unknown reason, the building didn't explode by that strike, instead, the building was fully intact, with the only difference lying in the weird way of Bianca's sudden strange behaviour. It's like she really had changed into a completely different person. Don't ask me the reason why. Everyone is wondering about that too, and yet, no one had successfully uncovered the truth."

Along with the progress with the conversation, Yoro's thought became wilder. It's understandable as whatever this Liam's noble girl was going through, it was almost exactly the same as his. And there this wild thought was born.

What if, just what if, this girl was a transmigrator like him?

Excluding Mato's word that he should avoid her, everything would make perfect sense!

Yoro suppressed the elated feeling that was rising in his chest as he stared at Mato once again. "Other than your advice to avoid her, is there anything that I should note? Like her feat or achievement for an example."

Mato nodded. "I have a complete file for that." As he said that, he brought up a file from below the desk, something he had already prepared for this beforehand.

And with that, Mato didn't have anything to say anymore. So he left the room, leaving Yoro to skip the page one by one. However, he couldn't do this for long as he realized the content was dozens if not hundreds of pages of essay. He decided to read those in his home while he got out, intending to complete the purpose of coming here in the first place.
