Chapter 6 - 6. Breakfast

Yoro finally left alone in that room, making it a perfect time for him to test some of the new things out. One of those was obviously the cheat he had gotten for free from that otaku administra- cough cough.

'better not trash-talking him in the back. Not even with my thought' thought Yoro as he felt a chill suddenly creep on his back.

Shaking the thought out of his head, he then tried to do the most popular space-type ability he had seen in the movie of all time.

"force!" He shouted out while stretching out his hand towards the bookshelf.

Nothing happened.

"....This is stupid" Even if he looked like one immature young boy right now, his highschooler mental just could not take the critical blow he had just inflicted upon himself. He just immediately kneeled in the spot and covered his face in both cringe and embarassment even when there was no one watching.

'As I thought, watching too many fantasy movies is no good.' He literally wanted nothing but to scream and howl to release his welling embarassment right now. Instead, he took a dive to his bed and flailed his limbs around.

"moment of enlightenment….what in the world does that mean" came a muffled sound from under the sheet. But there was none in the room that could answer his question, and it was highly possible that none in this kingdom could.

'I guess out of all, I should first check my-'

Yoro: "status" he murmured

Status, it was an interface screen that was exclusively given to otherworlder like him, or so was what was written on the paper Ad had given to him. When he searched his memories, there was no record nor clue about this thing being used by this world inhabitants, so it was natural to assume what Ad had said was true.

From there, Yoro confirmed that the anomaly which befallen the original Yoro didn't befallen himself, and he finally could breathe a sigh of relief. It wouldn't be funny if he transmigrated here only to life for up to 3 years like the previous owner of this body.

Yoro: "Haaa….Let's just read some books then…."

Now that he has transmigrated in this world, he should learn the culture and its common sense to adapt himself out. Otherwise, he would appear in others eyes as nothing but a country bumpkin in a noble skin.

Yoro: "....So why the hell were there only books of fairytales here!?"

Clearly because he still nothing but a fucking child!

"haaaaah….." He just could not snap off anymore. So he dejectedly let out a sigh and grabbed the book he had thrown before.

He read it briefly and skipped some pages. His headlines were getting deeper the more pages he flipped. And by the end of it, he exhaled a helpless breath while massaging his temples.

Yoro: 'as I thought, the author of this book is an earthling.'

When Yoro read the book previously, he was annoyed at how blatant this book was copied from the original one. But in the end, he could not help but to feel amazed at how many stories this person could copy from his past life.

*Knock knock

Cecilia: "young master, your breakfast is ready." Came the girl's voice he had been waiting for.

Yoro: 'Well, I want to meet him someday though' he murmured while giving a full whole bookshelf with the same author his last sight before he left the room.

* * *

There were three words to describe how the mansion was to him.

Big, fancy, complex.

The mansion was beautiful in both ways it was designed and decorated. But at the same time, it was also very big and complex. It wasn't an exaggeration at all to say it was a semi-labyrinth in how the layout was designed. Yoro might get lost easily if he didn't have Cecilia to guide him on.

Along the way, he met other maids who were working here. All of them politely bowed to him and gave a proper greeting when he walked past them, giving their best etiquette as a maid worth working in a marquis mansion.

But rather than pride, Yoro felt quite annoyed at them instead.

They bow their heads when he walked past them, yes. But Yoro could easily see the pitying gaze under their stare they couldn't conceal. It had already well-known to the public that he was a cripple brat who couldn't use mana, let alone magic. And all of them knew he wouldn't be the Ehren next head no matter what, so they only put an ''barely enough" effort to serve him.

Fortunately, his family was a very caring and protective one when it was regarding their son. So their treatment of him became better when they found out even if it only slightest bit. But rather than happy due to the other's treatment getting better, he more appreciated the effort his family went through for him alone instead.

To be accurate, it was over-appreciation on his part, making the former Yoro think that he was nothing but a leech and burden to his family.

Yoro knew this because of the sea of memories he had been going through before, and some of them were displaying his numerous suicidal attempts in his whole life.

Yoro clicked his tongue in annoyance as he strode forward. His brows were furrowed, and his expression told them that he was very pissed off right now.

Cecilia obviously realized this thing, so she slowed her steps and got closer to him. Just when Yoro wondered what she was trying to do, she unexpectedly snatched his hand and held it tightly!

Cecilia: "what? Never held a girl's hand before?" she said with a smile.

Yoro frowned but answered nonetheles ".... Yes I haven't. Why?".

Cecilia: "Well it made me the first one then." She said with her sweet smile while her hand grasping him tighter.

Yoro raised his eyebrows in surprise at her statement. Yoro knew that she was trying to distract him from his thoughts, but what was strange about her act was what she was trying to achieve by this and why? why now?

If he was still the former him, then he was sure that he definitely had a crush on her right in an instant.

'If it was the former him'

Yoro snorted and shook her hand off his, and then slowed his pace down so he would be walking behind her like before. His eyes were cold, and he acted as if he wanted to be left alone.

Yoro: "..."

He didn't say anything and neither was her. But Cecilia seemed to understand his feeling, so she turned her head back to the front, concealing her expression. But Yoro could still see the glimpse of the bitter smile she made.

Yoro: '...sorry girl, but I can't trust you yet.'

There were multiple reasons for Yoro doing this.

One, he was already too full when it came to shallow relationships like what he had in his past life. And two, she was a maid who was personally assigned to him by the marquis himself.

Yoro: 'meaning she was doing this all mainly because of my father's order. I don't know what's going on in the marquis's head, but there was basically no way she was trying to befriend a soon-dying second-son of marquis that would bring her no good.

Yoro: 'there is just no fucking way.' he thought while shaking his head.

After some more time walking, they finally arrived in the dining room. As expected, it was as fancy and as spacious as Yoro initially thought, so he wasn't too surprised at the scenery before him.

Yoro proceeded to sit in the chair which had its table filled with all kinds of food from meat, soup, to a fruit he was unfamiliar with. But they all were looking similarly delicious to him, and his mouth couldn't help but to water from imagining the taste alone.

Yoro: 'is it okay to eat such a dish as breakfast?'

Yoro peeked behind him, especially to the girl standing beside the door who cooked him this dish. Her face was neutral, not happy or sad, but also not expressionless. The corner of her lips slightly curved up in a teasing manner when she saw Yoro peeking at her.

Yoro: 'looking at her reaction, it seems it's okay to eat this.'

From Cecilia's perspective, she could see Yoro moved his hand and took the warm soup as his first meal. Cecilia couldn't see his expression, yet she could clearly see his shoulder slightly tremble right when he took his first spoon onto his mouth.

Cecilia's eyebrows furrowed when she saw these, and she couldn't help but to get some step closer to see what was actually going on.

She initially feared the food she made was not to his taste. In fact, this was her first time she served him food. It's because usually, the one who made breakfast for Yoro and his parents was the head maid, which also acted as a cook in this marquis.

Cecilia: 'as I thought, my cooking wasn't that delicious after all' she thought with a bitter ache in her heart.

Even if she was already trained by the head maid herself, she still found her cooking to be lacking compared to her senior professional skill. And it was proven this time when she finally wanted to test her skill herself.

Cecilia: "I-I am sorry if my food is bad! I will immediately change it with another one...your.....highness?"

Her voice was initially apologetic, but gradually turned into panicked and confused one, before it completely turned into a whole shock.

He was crying!
