Angel's POV:
As I sat in class, taking notes, I thought about yesterday. Me getting in trouble because my parents put coke in my bag. Who the fuck does that? I did what Kacey told me to do and tried to not think about it but it was hard. The principal certainly wanted me. Speak of the devil, he entered the room and searched for me. He scanned the classroom til he saw me. He smiled in delight. "Principal Goreman, what can I do for you?" The teacher asked. "I need Ms. Angel Starlight in my office." He said. I noticed he had a bulge. Oh no. "Of course. Angel?" The teacher said. I reluctantly stood up. "Is there something wrong?" I asked. He didn't say anything. Just motioned me over. He took me into the hall and down to his office. I reluctantly sat down in the chair far from him. He sat down and stared at me. It was quiet. I didn't like it.
"Did I do something wrong?" I asked again, holding he'll respond. He smiled at me. "You didn't do anything wrong Angel. I just like having my favorite student in my office." He said. He slowly got up and walked over to the security camera. He covered it with a sock. He came over and stood in front of me. "Angel, you know your a very bright student. I like you." He said, as he moved a lock of my hair. I gulped. "Why thank you." I said. My voice trembled. He moved his hands down to my neck. He then lingered his finger on my shirt. It went underneath my shirt to my bra strap. I felt a lump on my throat. "Angel, you don't have to be afraid. I'm just showing you how much of a great student you are." He said. Tears streamed down my face.
Just then the door opened, causing us both to jump. "Sir, we have some people from Greenwood High." The assistant said. We watched as three people entered the room. I recognized them immediately. It was the Magic Council.
^Alma
^Stan
^Bryan
The principal cleared his throat and moved away from me. "Hello. Sorry. Wasn't expecting anyone today." He said. They stared at him. Stan looked at me and he could tell something was wrong. "Sorry. We came by because there's a student here who very intelligent and we'd like to bring her to Greenwood." Alma said. She walked over to me. "And it looks like we didn't need to look for her." She said, as she looked down at me. "Angel?" Principal said. "Yes. Her grades are phenomenal. We think she'd be perfect for our school." Stan said. Goreman stared at them. "Are you sure you don't want someone else?" He asked. "We're positive." Bryan said. Goreman stared at him. "Your eyes are-" Bryan cut him off.
"We'll take Angel and be on our way." He said, as he quickly moved me out the room. "Wait-" Goreman said. We all quickly walked out the school and out to the parking lot. I looked around as Bryan drove the car. Alma and Stan didn't seem to mind me. "Alright what just happened?" I asked. "Angel, Kacey told us of your problems and we want to help you." Alma said. We then pulled into my driveway. "Wha-" Stan cut me off. "Angel, go get your things. Your leaving." He said. What?! "Leaving?" I repeated. "Angel, your suffering in a house with parents who doesn't love you and you go to school with people who wanna rape you." Alma said. "But leaving? I can't do that." I said. They all looked at me. "Angel you have no choice. Now you've kept the magical secret all these years. Think of this as a gift." Bryan said.
I stared at them. "But my parents are home." I said. "We'll deal with them while you and Alma get ready." Stan said, as he got out the truck. We followed behind him. He and Bryan went up to the door and knocked. Alma put her arms around me and made us float. I held onto the her tightly, as she whisked is away to my window on the house of the house. She used her powers to unlock the window and opened it. We floated inside. I looked around. "Aren't you gonna pack?" Alma asked, startling me. "Oh uh yeah." I said, as I quickly walked to my closet to get my suitcases. I began to pack fast, as I heard talking downstairs. Alma helped me out then we quickly walked to the window and out to the car. We went to the truck and got in. I looked at Alma, as she used her powers to see something. "Alma why are y'all helping me?" I asked.
She didn't look at me. "Angel, we're having visions of you being in trouble a lot for no reason. We're helping you because you don't deserve this life or being treated as..." she trailed off. She shook her head. "I don't even want to say it." She said. Then we heard a loud noise. "Sorry!!!" We gotta go!!!" Stan yelled out. "Why are you-" Dad paused when he seen me. "Angel? What are you doing in there?! Why are you not in school?!" He yelled. "I-I-I....We....I can explain." I stuttered. "No she can't." Bryan said, nonchalantly. The men quickly got in the tru k and started it up. "Angel what are you doing with these strangers?" Mama asked. "They're not strangers." I said. "Look, we seen how you've been treating Angel and we don't like it." Alma said. "So, as a result, we're taking her far away from here." Bryan said.
"What?!" Dad yelled. "No!! Your not taking my baby anywhere!!!" Mama cried, as she ran to the truck. Bryan pulled off just as she reached for the handle. I watched their faces, as we drove away. My heart broke for them. I was their only child who hasn't left. My big brother and sister left because Mama and Dad abused them. They couldn't take it anymore so they moved out. I haven't heard from them in awhile. I used to get letters and texts from them but they stopped. They said they couldn't talk to me anymore. I didn't know why. I tried to call them but their numbers were now someone else's. I had no idea where they went so no way to contact to them. It made me sad. My only family left and I didn't know where they were.
I cried silently in my seat. Alma held me. "I'm sorry Angel but it had to be done." She said. "I know." I said, between sobs. "Angel, it had to be done. They treated you like trash and put you in danger. Hell, they even let you take the wrap of that coke in your bag." Bryan said. "I know but....they're the only family I have left." I said. "Actually Angel....we have something to tell you." Stan said. I looked up at him. "Your brother and sister, they're safe. They've been turned into magical beings and they had to lose contact with you until they got their new powers under control." He said. "What? Have they got it under control?" I asked. "They have. But they had already told you that they couldn't see you anymore." He said.
"So where are they now?" I asked, curiously. "They're actually at the house we're going to." Alma said. "House?" I asked. "Yes Angel. We had to pull you out of the dungeon of a house." She said. I was taken aback by we words. "Look, it may not have been the best place for me to love but it was my home." I said, crossing my arms. "Not anymore." Bryan said. I sat back in my seat and stared out the window. I watch as the trees and bushes whizzed by. It was somewhat relaxing knowing I'm leaving behind a life and starting a new one somewhere else. "Alright Angel, here we are." Stan said, as we pulled up to a nice house. I looked up at it. It was huge. This is where I live now?
"Wow." I said. "Nice isn't it?" Alma asked. I nodded. "It's dope." I said, smiling. I got out and looked around. "This is an awesome house." I said. "It's even nicer inside." Bryan said, as he came up behind me with my suitcases. He paused and looked at it. "Hey Alma, have the girls take Angel shopping." He said. I looked at my bags. "What's wrong with my clothes?" I asked, sadly. "Nothing...come on. Your brother and sister are inside." He said, as he disappeared through the door. I looked back to Alma and Stan. They were bringing some bags up to the door. I grabbed the rest and headed for the door. Stan and Alma went through the door. I opened it.
I looked around. This is so nice. I looked around. "Where's Keisha and Trey?" I asked, curiously. "At school, where you'll be Monday morning." Alma said. "I'm switching schools?" I asked. She nodded. "But-" Bryan cut me off. "Angel, going back to your old school isn't an option. That perverted Principal and your parents will continue to hurt you if you go back to your old school." He said. "Oh." I said. "Alma will show you to your room. We'll let you ladies get settled while me and Bryan will transfer you." Stan said. He and Bryan walked off through the walls. I looked at Alma, who stared at me. "What?" I asked. She didn't say anything. Just grabbed my suitcases and headed upstairs. She paused and looked at me. "You coming?" She asked, as she climbed the stairs. I quickly ran upstairs after her. I looked around the house. It was so nice and gorgeous. We walked around til we came to a room.
"Angel, this is your room." Alma soda, suddenly. I looked at her. She opened the door to reveal a very beautiful room. I gasped and walked in. "This is my room?" I asked. "Yep. It's all yours." She said. I squealed and ran in. I jumped on the bed and bounced on it. I got up and ran to my closet. "This is all mine?!" I asked, excitedly. She nodded. "It's all yours." She said. I looked at the pool in the middle of the room. "No way. A pool? In my room? This is so dope." I said, grinning. Alma set my suitcases down on the floor near my bed. "Angel, I'll need to speak to you when your down settling in. We need to discuss some things. I'll be in the garden outside." She said, as she left the room. She closed the door behind her. I looked around and sat down on the bed. This is all mine? I reached for my bags and began to put my clothes away. I saw an iPhone in my suitcase. I looked at it, as it had a note on it.
Dear Angel, we didn't like your old phones so here's a new one for ya. -Magic Council
I sighed and took out my old phone. Having a Tracfone wasn't so bad. Yes it was old and outdated but t didn't bother me. I began to transfer everything from my old phone to my new one. I saw it already had contacts in it. Contacts of people I didn't know. I seen their pictures. I didn't recognize them. I heard a knock on the door. I turned my head to see a blonde Afro girl walk in. "Hi, you must be Angel. The Magic Council told us so much about you." She said. I stared at her. "Sorry, who are you?" I asked. "Oh. I'm Aaliyah." She said. I looked down at my phone and saw her picture. "Your the one who's in my phone?" I said, as I held the phone put for her to see. She squinted at it. "Oh yeah. That's me. The Magic Council said they wanted you to have more friends. So they asked us to it out numbers in that phone." She said. "Us?" I repeated.
^Aaliyah
^Meghan
A girl walked in behind her. I stared at her. She scared me. "Hi. I'm Meghan. You must be the Angel Starlight we've heard so much about." She said, as she held out her hand. I slowly shook it. I looked down at my phone. Her contact was in there too. "Is there anyone else whose in my contact list?" I asked. They both laughed. "Come on. We'll help you get settled in then we'll show you around the house." Meghan said, as she came up to me. I was legit scared of her. I watched as she unzipped my suitcase. She must've felt my gaze because she looked at me. "You okay?" She asked. "What are you?" I asked, without thinking. "I'm a witch." She said. "Yeah and I'm a demon." Aaliyah said. I looked at her. "But I'm nice as long as you don't get on my bad side." She said. "Both aides of that bitch is the bad side." Meghan said. "Bitch fuck you." Aaliyah said.
Okay. Already I feel at home. "So your a witch and your a demon?" I asked. Hey both nodded. "So what are you?" Aaliyah asked. "I'm nothing." I said, sadly. "What do you mean?" She asked. "I'm nothing. I'm a human." I said. They stared at me. "Wow. So your really human?" Meghan asked. "Yeah. Didn't you hear the Magic Council say she was?" Aaliyah asked. "I heard them but I thought they were covering her up." She said. "Well yeah. I'm just human." I said. "Wow. Why would the Magic Council have a human in their mist? Humans aren't supposed to know about our world." Aaliyah said. "Well I do. And they don't see me as a threat. Plus, I kept the secret of your magic world." I said, as I put away my shirts. "Wow. Never had a human live with us before." Aaliyah said. I looked at them. "So why aren't y'all in school?" I asked.
"We uh, sorta fought each other at school and got suspended. But we're going back Monday morning." Meghan said. "So you guys don't get along?" I asked, curiously. "Sometimes we do. Sometimes we don't." Meghan said. She came up to me and grabbed my wrists. "Look Angel, I know I have a resting bitch gave but trust me. I'm easy to get along with." She said, smiling. It made me smile. "Bitch bye. This bitch put a spell on me the first day all because I ate her jello." Aaliyah said. "It had my fucking name on, you fat cow!!" Meghan said. I laughed. "Omg. I already feel at home." I said, smiling. They both went at it while we put my clothes away. My closet was huge and since I didn't have too much clothes, it had a wide open space. Meghan and Aaliyah left for downstairs because Alma called them. I followed them.
"Angel?" Called a voice. I looked up to see my sister, Keisha. "Keisha?" I said. She smiled. I ran up to her and hugged her. "Oh my God it's so good to see you again." She said. "You too." I said. "Oh my God you got taller." She said. "Yeah. We the same height now." I said. She looked me up and down then back at me. "Almost." She said. "Bitch fuck you." I said, jokingly. She laughed and hugged me again. "Angel?" Said another voice. I looked up to see Trey coming down the stairs. I gasped and smiled at him. "There's my little sister!!!" He said, as he hopped over the railing with ease. It was about ten feet off the ground and he landed without a scratch. What is he? He ran up and hugged me, nearly crushing my rib cage. I cried out. "Owww!! Okay Trey, your crushing me!!!" I said. "Oh sorry sorry. Still getting used to my strength." He said, as he backed off.
^Trey Starlight
^Keisha Starlight
"It's fine." I said, hoarsely. I rubbed my left shoulder. "You got hella strong." I said. "You have no idea." He said. "Oh Angel. Not that I'm not happy to see you, but why are you here?" Keisha asked. "Well, the Magic Council came and got me." I said. "Yes. Angel was in a difficult situation but we got there just in time." Stan said, walking up to us. "Her principal was about to sexually harass her but we came in and intervened." Bryan said. "Man Principal Goreman was always a damn pervert." Trey said, angrily. "I hope his ass got fired." Keisha said. "Who cares? Angel out of that school now." Meghan said. "Yeah. We have our sister back and now we finna turn up!!!" Keisha exclaimed.
I smiled weakly. Principal Goreman came into mind. He was always such a pervert. An aggressive one when it came to me. It made me upset. "Angel?" Trey called. He snapped his fingers in my face. "Hmm?" I said. "Come on. We have something to show you." He said, as he pulled me out the room. Keisha followed us. We walked around til we got to the basement. We went down some floors til it was dark. Trey flipped a switch on and lights came up. We walked some more til we got to a room. "What's this room?" I asked. "It's a power room." Keisha said. "What's that?" I asked. "It's a room when you test out your powers or have to let loose some steam." She said. We walked in and it was huge.
"It's so pretty." I said. We walked inside and looked around. "This is amazing." I said. "It really is. The Magic Council made Meghan put a spell on the room so when we're done using our powers, it returns back to normal." Keisha said. I walked up to a couch and sat down. "I can't believe this is real." I said. "Well it is. Let us show you some of our powers." Trey said. I smiled and he transformed into a wolf. Keisha transfixed into a dog. She said she was a Devil Dog. One day, she got bitten by one. She was in pain for a few days before the transformation was complete. I hoped to one day become a magical being. Hopefully it comes true.
