Chapter 3 - chapter 3

While Serenity was walking home she felt a little uneasy, as though a stranger was following her. Her parents usually didnt let her go outside for very long.  The remarkable lavender color of her eyes was very rare. While it is true that Serenity's parents had high and powerful careers that made them wealthy, they also kept secret between them. Serenity"s eyes had to be protected. Most people would want to sell her for money or simply take out her eyes. But as we know, Serenity trusted the towns people.  She believed that every one of them were trustworthy.

As Serenity got home she hugged her mother with loving arms. Her mother, Olivia, did not return the same loving embrace. She nearly shouted at Serenity for being outside for so long. All that Serenity could do was smile at her mother, holding five perfect pink tulips. She held them up. "Look mother, I picked these tulips for you. They were by the pond near the old barn, the one in the fields". Serenity tilted her head and smiled. Olivia sighed and held her daughter in her arms. She gently rubbed her daughter's forehead and soft hair.

"Thank you darling but you need to be more careful.  These tulips are lovely". Olivia gently took the tulips and put them in a vase.  Then she quickly rushed Serenity upstairs to clean up and get ready for lunch. Neighbors were coming.
