Cylus stared at Mina in shock. He did not know she was angry enough to cut ties with him so abruptly, and he found himself unable to form words. Seeing how awkward things had become, Oric apologized to Mina because he could not take her home, but Mina was fine with that. She would not have wanted the man to drive anyway.
Completely ignoring Cylus, Mina apologized to Connor, feeling as though his party had been ruined, but the man smiled and told her that aside from her getting hurt, it had been the most interesting party he had had in years. If it were anyone else talking, Mina would have thought he was lying, but his expression told her he was serious.
"I have been waiting for someone to kick Oric's ass, so you could say that his fight was an additional birthday present."
"I think you need to reassess whose ass got kicked." Mina chuckled at Oric's rebuttal then winced.
