With her body pressed underneath Ian, Lisa had made herself clear. She wanted to be with him, and he was not going to reject her. She watched Ian reach under his pillow.
The day before, Zane had pressed something into Ian's hands as he was leaving. Ian had tried to give it back, but Zane would not take it. He told Ian he would rather him be safe than sorry.
At the time, Ian thought that Zane was overreacting to his budding relationship with Lisa. Not knowing what to do with the package, Ian had put it under one of the pillows in his study. He did not think he would need them the very next day, and right now he was happy he had taken them. When Lisa saw what he was holding, she gently reached out to hold his arm.
