Chapter 69 - Chapter 6(9): Rank Up To C??

Note: I ain't allowing the number of unholiness to defile this holy novel.ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ Anyway. Enjoy!

It was no longer early in the morning, and Shuya had stopped training and was washing himself.

Rai and Folaei were also up. It was around 8 now. So they all went down and requested their breakfast.

Finishing their breakfasts, they went out. On their way to the guild, they decided to walk around the city. The streets were already bustling with people. Some stores were opening, some were already opened, stalls were being set up and people were getting ready for the day.

Walking along the crowd they eventually reached the guild.

Walking to the reception, Godo and friends could feel the gaze they were getting, well maybe not Rai, but Godo could clearly feel it. So they did what the most normal person would do. They went to the receptionist and asked,

"Miss? Is there something wrong?"

"Oh are you Sir Godo and his party? I advise you to look at the Notice Board over there." the receptionist said as she pointed to the opposite side of where the Mission Board was.

So they went and looked around the board. Then they saw it. On one of the paper, it read out.

[Sir Godo, Miss Folaei, Rai and Shuya are asked to come to the Guildmaster's room

for a Rank Up to C rank. If said people are reading this, it is advised that they quickly come to the room]

After reading it, Godo now understood why the people had their gazes on them. Realising it wasn't anything serious, they decided to go to the room.

Inside the room, there was the Guildmaster sitting on his chair behind his table. This room was different than the rooms on the second floor. It indeed had two couches and a table, and it was also on the third floor.

The difference was the overall decorations and items present in the room. While the public rooms had some pot plants, some weapons lying around and two or three side tables.

The Guildmaster's room had a carpet, a cabinet, some side tables and plants and some vases and decorations placed here and there. It overall had a nicer feeling to it.

So they sat down. Then the Guildmaster asked them,

"Would you guys like to Rank Up to C rank?"

"Yes. But I would like it so that Shuya and Rai will not rank up."

"What do you mean Sir Godo? Isn't it a great achievement to make it to Rank C during their youth?" Folaei asked with a hint of confusion.

"Well that Miss Folaei, let me ask the Guildmaster about it."

Folaei was confused. But she decided to wait, if it invovled the Guildmaster, maybe there was a good reason for it.

"So Guildmaster. Can Nene be included?"

The Guildmaster thought for a second, then answered back.

"Of course, but she will have to be an adventurer first."

'Yes!' Nene thought to herself while smiling.

"But isn't the next Adventurers Test a few weeks later?" Shuya asked.

"Yes, and that's the problem." the Guildmaster answered.

Hearing that, Nene showed a disappointed expression. The time for the qualification was 2 weeks. She was not going to make it for the qualification.

"Well, maybe next time Nene." Godo told her.

"Sir Godo, what is this thing you are talking about with Nene and the Guildmaster?" the three of them asked.

"You see, every year, the guild can send kids from the guild, who meet certain requirements, to the Zurich Academy of Magic and Weaponry." the Guildmaster answered.

Folaei hearing that, seemed to have changed her expression. She became flustered and asked the Guildmaster,

"Wait you mean, if they meet these requirements, they will be able to enroll there?"

The Guildmaster nodded.

"What are these requirements Guildmaster?" she asked again.

"To either become a Grade 4 Mage, have a certain level of mastery over a style or become a D rank adventurer." Godo answered.

The level of sync Godo and the Guildmaster had made the people inside the room question if they were old friends. Even the guy outside the room, Drude.

"So would you like to rank up?"

'Now this may become a bit hard.' Godo thought to himself.

"Could you excuse us for a minute Guildmaster?" he asked.

To which the Guildmaster nodded.

So he took Folaei outside the room to discuss something. Leaving the two kids behind with the Guildmaster.

"Miss Folaei. I know this may sound like I'm trying to do something unbelievable, but could you allow Rai to not rank up?"

Folaei hearing this, wanted to ask out some of her questions as well.

"Why Sir Godo? It is the easiest way right now for them. What's the point of trying to become a Grade 4 Mage if they can just qualify now?"

"You see Miss Folaei, I thought about it for some time this morning. The academy has noble students as a majority right?"

Folaei nodded to this.

"So, I just want them to have a bit of self confidence, and some power of their own.

Nobles are rich and influential so they can do many things we can't do.

Because of this, they may be able to buy things that normal people can't and quickly advance through the Grades. There may even be some who have already reached Grade 6 or even 7.

In the face of this, if Rai enrolls with only the strength of a Grade 2 Mage, she may feel inferior. She may even get picked on or bullied."

Listening to all this, Folaei started to understand what Godo was thinking. It surely was an important worry. There was a very high chance that they were just overestimating the academy students, but there was still a chance.

As a mother, Folaei surely didn't want to see Rai fall behind her peers or look at herself from a bad perspective. Getting bullied was something to look out for too, as it could greatly impact the person, both mentally and emotionally.

"I understand your worries Sir Godo. But isn't that just an overestimated thought?" Folaei asked again with a slight doubt in her words.

"Of course it may be. But being able to reach Grade 4 at an early age is even better. Even if what i said was false, it will positively impact her."

Folaei started to think about what Godo just said. Then she asked him one thing again,

"Then what about Shuya, Sir Godo?"

"Oh, well I'll just decide it for him as i am his teacher."

Godo chuckled.

"Ah I'm just kidding. I'll ask him about it, if he wants to rank up then he will. Oh and also, even if Rai isn't able to reach Grade 4, we can just rank them up."

There was a moment of silence,

"What do you think Miss Folaei?"

She thought about it deep and hard.

"I guess what you said seems like a better option for both Rai and Shuya."

Folaei accepted.

So they then went back in. The Guildmaster was just chatting away with the kids, he seemed like a friendly man.

The man named Yu wrote on some leather. It was a diary.

As he looked up in the sky. From a distant, a voice called out.

"Yu! Let's go!"
