"I didn't like the bride either"
"Oh I see-"
"-WAIT?! WHAT!" Jordan instantly pressed his foot onto the breaks, stopping the car. "S-So you are not the bride?" He stuttered out of shock.
"N-No" She nervously replied.
Her reply made Jordan's frown go deeper, "But you clearly look like a bride" His gaze ran down her body.
"Wearing a wedding gown doesn't make one a bride!?" She innocently exclaimed while blinking her eyes repeatedly at him while he felt that it was so cute for no reason.
Her replies didn't help his puzzled mind at all "Then why were you running away from those men?"
uhm ...
*FLASHBACK*
It was a very pleasant morning where the church's bell rang. The church looked even more breathtaking than usual as it was fully decorated with white smoothcloth and beautiful flowers. It looked like as if the church's environment was screaming richness as it was all decorated with lavish decoratives which meant two rich families were about to tie a knot.
There was a great excitement and joy among everyone to see the preparations for the wedding celebrations in their families. It looked so luxurious. Everything was perfectly perfect!
While everybody were happy about the marriage the groom on the other side was nervously staring at everyone who were busy with the preperation work, while he was alone standing at his balcony. It was his day but he wasn't happy at all due to his broken heart. Whatever his decision was, he now regrets it a lot. The pain inside failed him to realize that it was too late already. His thoughts were interrupted when he heard a knock on the door.
"Jay what are you doing? Get ready, there isn't much time for the ceremony to start" said Jay's mother looking at him who was still dressed in his casual attire.
"Mom, we still have an hour left for the ceremony to start so don't worry. I'll be there on time" hearing his reply she hummed and left the room. Just as she left the room a tall muscular blonde who was known to be Jay's best friend, Blaze entered his room making sure to greet Jay's mother who just left.
"Its not fair to look upset on your own wedding day, comeon you need to cheer up" Blaze exclaimed while patting his right palm onto Jay's shoulder, but that didn't help Jay's mood at all.
Realising what was bothering him Blaze let out a sigh and slowly asked him "Do you perhaps regret breaking up with HER?"
This gained Jay's complete attention "I don't know I have mixed feelings about it"
"Don't mess this up Jay! Forget everything and start a new begi-" Just as Blaze was speaking Jay got a glimpse of a woman dressed in a white gown passing by.
Shock was written all over his face "Wait! Is that Lilly?" he questioned a little louder than usual totally cutting of Blaze in his mid sentence before heading towards the door hoping to see who it actually was.
But he didnt get the chance since his best friend held his shoulders, preventing him from moving further.
"Jay are you tripping why would Lilly attend your wedding? You are just imagining things!" Blaze warned with a hint of annoyance in his voice.
But Jay was damn sure about what exactly he saw. Just as his mind was debating about it, he saw his mother and his to be in-law's rushing into the bride's room with worry written all over their faces. Seeing this both Jay and Blaze got confused so they followed towards the bride's room, apparently there was no bride but later they realized that she was sent for makeup.
Everything looked fine in the room until Jay's mother-in-law started yelling about where the wedding dress was? Soon all their gazes shifted onto the words written on the big mirror, using a bright lipstick.
"HUNGRY DOGS ARE NEVER LOYAL"
Seeing those words Jay was so offended and frustrated. Now it all made sense for him that it was none other than Lilly who came here for a REVENGE. Offcourse he clearly knew whose handwriting it was! He dated her for years and no one else knew her better than him. Reading those words again made him very angry but it soon turned into a devilish smirk.
"That's it! Call this thing off!" Jay declared taking everybody off guard. The adults didn't even get the time to deny it because before they could do it he had already left the room in a hurry to search Lilly.
Jay roamed around the church making all the guests wonder why the groom was roaming there instead of getting ready for his occasion. Jay looked for her everywhere and that's when he noticed a white figure sneaking out of the church.
"LILLY! STOP!" he yelled. As soon as she heard his voice she got tensed and started running away. Jay cursed under his breath and ordered his men to go get her and that was how those men started chasing her.
...
MEANWHILE
Jordan was staring at the girl infront of him with his mouth agape while he carefully listened to her story. He had a lot of questions running in his mind but he was afraid if it would be too personal for her. Yet there was still one thing that bothered him a lot. "So Jay is your boyfriend?" He carefully asked.
"Ex-boyfriend"
she corrected him with a hint of disgust in her voice.
Before he could ask her any further questions his thoughts were suddenly cut off by a ringtone. He excused himself and picked up the call.
"Hello?"
"I had something important to do"
"Yeah I'm on my way, I'll be there soon" He ended the call.
So much had happend today just within a short lapse of time that he completely forget about his work and that was why his secretary had called him.
"Work calls" he informed the pretty girl beside him who was staring at him with confusion.
"Tell me if you have somewhere to go so that I can drop you off there" Being a gentleman Jordan suggested and was eagerly waiting for her to answer.
She nodded her head while smiling a little, god knows why!
"17th street, Lexington" she replied.
