(on the phone)
"Hey baby, did you miss me?" asked someone with a deep voice.
She clutched the phone tight towards her ear while the word 'baby' repeatedly rang in her mind. "Who is this?"
SOMEONE -"Aw babe that hurts! You couldn't recognize my voice?" He whined a little, making her cringe.
Lilly clearly knew who the person on the other line was but she ignored to let him know that she had already moved on. "Your voice isn't worth remembering and I don't know who you are, so never call me again!" She blurted and was about to end the call.
SOMEONE -"Its the HUNGRY DOG" He purposefully stressed the word "Hungry dog" with a sarcastic voice to remind her what she had called him before.
Hearing him calling himself the name that she had given made her a lilttle proud. She smirked while bringing back her phone to her ear "What do you want Jay?"
JAY- *Evil laugh* "This HUNGRY DOG is now hungry for you babe!" He sounded so Dominant.
Soon the smirk on her face was wiped off. His statement sent a shiver down her spine as his voice sounded so raspy and demanding but she wasn't ready to give up yet. She wouldn't let his statement affect her so she stood confident and spoke with a duh! tone again.
"Oh Darling! Go get a brain! Which part of us breaking up did you not understand? Go and talk about that crap with your new side chick"
JAY-"How do you know about my girlfriend?" he sounded confused.
LILLY-"Offcourse who wouldn't? You were even about to spoil an innocent girl by making her your bride even though you had your so called new girlfriend. Tch! What a Shame!"
JAY-"Well well! I'm glad you know about my girlfriend but did the fact that I had someone I WANT made your pretty soul upset? Aw that's so sad!" He sounded as if he was pitying her in a sarcastic manner.
LILLY-"Yes. I cried when you left me but I laughed when I saw what you left me for!"
(silence)
Hearing nothing from the other side Lilly's smirk returned into her face.
Lilly already knew that he had a side chick while he was dating her and that's the reason why she had broken up with him but he had no idea about it. According to Jay, Lilly broke up with him because he always complained about Lilly not completely giving herself to him!
After a long pause Jay finally started to speak "Then why did you ruin my wedding?" He was calm but it wasn't tough to notice a hint of anger in his voice.
LILLY-"I was just trying to save an innocent girl from the cheater to be accurate!" She sneered.
Her words pushed the right buttons to piss him but he already knew that even though she sounded strong with her words, she was still weak on the inside.
"Why do you care Lilly? Perhaps does your heart still beats for me?" Now it was his turn to smirk.
She grew irritated. What else does she expect from a playboy?
"Don't look for my heart, you BEAST have eaten it!" Her tone grew high.
This was the moment he realised how much he had hurt her in the past. Somewhere in the corner of his heart he felt sorry for her! But he gladly ignored those facts and returned back to his coldself. He never cared about the truth or the consequences anyway, all that mattered was the present and he desperately wanted to win over her.
JAY-"Oh common babe stop acting as if you were completely loyal to me! I know you were seeing another man behind my back and- " he was cut off in the middle.
She was taken aback but soon it was filled with anger. After being so committed and loyal this is what she gets in return?
LILLY- "I swear Jay! What the heck are you even talking about?"
In a heated situation like this he just wanted to criticize her as he was so jealous about her being with Jordan.
JAY-"Quit playing the role of an innocent Lilly, if you didn't had one then why would Jordan Dean help you out from my men?"
And that's when everything slowly started to make sense to her. She never expected Jay to know about Jordan helping her, well atleast not this fast! "Why? Are you jealous?"
He was taken back by her sudden question but he knew he didn't have any answers for it so he ignored it again and bombered her with the questions while blaming her even more "Why? Do you like Jordan Dean? Do you like his money? What did you even see in him? Why? Does he treat you better than me?Tell me! Is he as good as me in-" She didn't let him to continue further.
LILLY-"YES! I like him! NO wait I fricking LOVE HIM! You got a problem with that? Now shut up! And don't even dare to call me again!" She spitted out the words out of anger and ended the call not even giving him a chance to speak further.
She was so angry that she threw her phone back on to the bed. She huffed in annoyance as she supported her forhead with her palms. She walked back and forth with the other hand holding onto her waist. It took some time for her to register what she had just blurted out, she grew more tense as she started to sweat even more.
Just then her bestfriend Honey sprinted to her room with a confused look, she tilted her head a little and asked "Who loves who?"
Seeing her friend at the door Lilly grabbed Honey's hands and pulled her to sit on the bed. She stared at Honey's face which was filled with confusion, with that she got an idea that Honey had heard a part of the conversation on the phone as their rooms were just a wall apart.
Knowing that her best friend was expecting an explanation, Lilly sighed and looked down
"I messed up!" was all that came out of her mouth.
Hearing Lilly's statement Honey was even more confused right now "Lilly you better explain things clearly!" she warned.
Lilly sighed again for the hundredth time. "Jay called me. He was getting on my nerves so out of anger... Uhm...
I told him that I love Jordan!"
Honey's eyes grew wide at her friend's last statement, she couldn't process what was going on. She was so shook that she sat like a robot staring at the empty space, not even moving an inch for a few seconds.
....
After honey recovered from the shock she started to yell out of the blue "You told Jay WHAT?"
Lilly was startled by Honey's loud voice but she was already pissed about what had happened! Hearing her friend pretending as if she didn't understand and asking the same question again made her even more exasperated. To answer her friend Lilly shouted back
"THAT I LOVE JORDAN!"
There was a moment of silence in the room until.....
"You LOVE me?"
