Adeline gawped at him. "Don't tell me what to do. You're just a superior."
"Oh? Is that what you think?" Erick hastily stood up and slammed her against the wall, holding her arms up. "I'm more than that, sweetie."
"You rascal! Let go of me! If Abigail comes in—"
"Being innocent makes me even crave for you more." Erick brought his face closer, giving her lustful glances.
"People will see us! Hands off!"
"You're getting more voluptuous each day. You must be trying to temp me."
As Erick tightened his grip on Adeline's arm, enough for her not to break free, Adeline's heart started raising, trying not to show her nervousness.
"What do I do? How could I work with such a jerk? Should I just tell Abby?" Adeline thought.
"Oh little girl, what are you thinking about?" Erick gave her a kiss on her neck. "Only I get to see you so vulnerable."
"I'll scream if you don't let go of me."
"Go and do it then. Our colleagues won't even have the courage to go in. All they'll be hearing are your moans coming out from my room, darling."
"Shut it, old man!"
"What did you call me? How dare you—"
"Am I wrong sir? You seem like you're in your forties." Adeline giggled. "Not suitable for my age."
"I'm only twenty four. Want me to prove it?" Erick slowly unbuttoned her blouse, kissing her shoulder as he grabbed her waist, closing the gap between them.
"Does it matter?"
Erick stopped to look at her. "What?"
"Just leave me alone." Adeline bursted into tears. "I've just gone through a heartbreak... I'm not—"
"I-I'm sorry. I didn't know..."
"I did not come to this place to find love, so please...just stop playing with my heart cause I'm not ready to let someone in."
"That man's going to be sorry that he lost you, Darling." Erick smirked. "I'll just make you mine instead."
"No!" Adeline pushed him away. "I don't like yo—"
"What's your type then? I'm serious about you, sweetie."
"Stay away from me. I don't have any."
"If you're still thinking about my relationship with Abigail—"
"I don't want to be a mistress, so get out of my away."
"Mistress?" Erick bursted into laughter as he sat down on his chair. "I'm not even dating her."
Adeline slammed the table. "She has feelings for you and yet you're allowing yourself to flirt with another woman?"
"Does it matter? We can't be together anyway."
"So you're making me a substitute."
"What?"
"You've shown me your true colors." Adeline clenched her fist. "I don't want to be anyone's substitute."
"I never said that I'd take you as one." Erick stood up. "Just give me a chance to fix your heart, Adeline."
"How many times do I have to tell you—"
"Seems like Julian was right. You're quite heartless."
"How did you..."
"He told you the same thing didn't he?" Erick lifted her chin. "I'm not like him who'll give up that easily though."
Adeline looked away. "Why...? What's there to like about me? You're just wasting your time!"
"I just like everything about you. Do I need a reason for that?"
"You don't even know me."
"Then I'll get to know you more."
Adeline glared. "Stop calling me that. You'll get rid of those feelings—"
"I'm sure about it." Erick gave her a kiss on her cheek. "I won't give up until your mine. Wasn't that the thing you always wanted to hear?"
"You're lying... You love Abigail!"
"I admit that I did have some feelings for her before, but it doesn't mean that I still feel the same way now."
"No...No... I'm not allowed to love you..."
Erick grabbed her shoulders. "Why not? Just because of her? You can't control what you feel, Adele!"
"Stop." Adeline covered her ears. "Just give up on me. I would never betray Abby."
"Easy for you to say. One day, I'll make you fall for me... I'll make you fall so hard that when I finally catch you...you wont be afraid of anything again. I'll make you forget everything about him, Adeline."
