Chapter 44 - Tempted

(At Switzerland)

As Peter was on his way back to the hotel, he suddenly heard loud footsteps behind him. He then looked back and saw a woman in a red coat, clutching his jacket.

"What are you doing here?" Peter looked at the woman from head to toe. "Have you come to visit me?"

"I decided to take a vacation too. Can't I?" The woman held his arm.

"Go back to where you belong, Ella. Don't make me a substitute of Nicholas."

"You're overthinking. I'm just here to spend some time with my high school friend."

"You know that I still have feelings for you. I might think that—"

"So? Have you come to hate me because of what I did back then?"

"You weren't the cause of Beatrice's death." Peter zipped up his jacket. "That's the one you wanted to hear right?"

"It's been six years. You still can't get over it?" Ella took a few steps closer.

"Her death wasn't an accident."

"Well it wasn't caused by—"

"You killed her because she refused to leave me."

"Don't make ridiculous assumptions! I would never do such a thing!"

"I've had it investigated." Peter dragged her to his hotel room. "You killed her here right?"

Ella looked away. "Wh-Why would I go to Switzerland just to do that? That's so—"

"We both know who's guilty here, so don't deny it."

"Do you not trust me anymore?"

"You expect me to trust you after all you've done?" Peter grabbed her wrist as his eyes flashed angrily at her. "Why did you have to kill Beatrice?"

"I just want you to myself. Can't I?" Ella wrapped her arms around his neck.

"What were you thinking? You never even felt the same way!"

"I just wanted you to love me. I wanted you to cry for—"

"I don't know you... Get out of here!"

"Aren't you gonna entertain me for a while?" Ella sat on his lap, caressing his cheeks.

"Enough." Peter pushed her away. "I guess Beatrice was right. You aren't worth fighting for, Ella."

"You still like me."

"You haven't gotten over Nicholas right?"

"Does it matter? We're never getting back together anyway."

"So this is the reason why you went to Switzerland." Peter stood up. "Let's not waste each other's time."

Ella lied, "I just arrived and I don't know—"

"We have nothing to do with each other. Find your own way back home."

"Just because of Nicholas? I told you that I don't love him anymore."

"You can fool me, but you can't fool yourself. You can't deny the fact that you still love him."

"We haven't seen each other since graduation!" Ella wrapped her arms around him. "Why can't you just believe me?"

"I'm just a back up in your eyes." Peter turned his back. "I'm not that same old fool back in high school."

"What should I do to make you forgive me then?"

"I'm not in the mood for this. Get out of my room."

"I'm giving you the chance. Do you not want it?" Ella unbuttoned her clothes. "Isn't my body enough to please you?"

Peter looked away. "What are you doing? Put your clothes back on!"

"I'll give you everything you desire. I might not be—"

"Don't regret this then."

Without hesitation, Peter hastily wrapped his arm around her waist as their bodies pressed tight together. As his hand moved slowly from her chin to her cheek, Ella grabbed the collar of his coat, gently brushing her lips against his. Peter then pushed her against the wall, pushing her upwards, making her legs cross around his waist.

As Ella's fingers gripped his hair, Peter deepened the kiss, pulling her closer. Then his lips travelled to her cheek and down to her neck with gentle pecks. Ella then whispered his name which made his arms tighten around her, crushing her against his chest.

Ella broke the kiss, leaving her short in breath. "Have you done this before?"

Peter shook his head. "Why? Have you—"

"Secret."

"You're mine tonight then." Peter smiled, removing his shirt, enough to pull it over his head and toss it aside, capturing her mouth again.
